There are some Christian whack jobs who did just that with their babies and buried them in the back yard. Teri's case, however, is an entirely different set of circumstances. Babies don't ask to be born. Teri asked her husband not to keep her alive like that. And what happened for 15 damn years was against her rationally stated wishes. Really a sad case all around. But families are forced to make these decisions every day to take someone off life support, etc. Watching the coverage I've told members of my family that if that's me, do me a favor and pull the plug. Sometimes things aren't written in legalese and codified to the fullest extent. It's that time when the person who was closest to her and discussed these issues --- in this case, the husband --- has to make the decision according to the patient's wishes. He says she didn't want this and has endured the pain of having it dragged up in the spotlight time and time again b/c he wants to honor her wish. Sorry, but I don't question his motives just like I wouldn't want my brothers questioned and villified if they pull the plug on me just b/c there's nothing on paper.

The Lions of the last few years are comparable to the New York Rangers c. 1995-2004. Work with what you've got and be very selective in who you draft and sign, rather than try to buy a championship/playoffs and have it blow up in your face every year w/ expensive guys who do nothing. Amazing how many times this has to be stated in the offseason.

There's already a logjam at OT. Only signings or draftings I see would come in the interior. Then again, this admin. only seems to sign guys who can play multiple/every position(s) on the line. There's nothing inherently wrong w/ this, but it'd be nice to have one guy where you can say, 'John Doe is the Center' like w/ Kent Hull. Have one position where they devote all their time to rather than being a jerk of all trades, master of few.

This is a point I was going to make in the last NC thread but didn't get to. The Rules Committee is going to continue to disallow everything but running alongside the WR, maybe with a 5-yard buffer, to get scoring up. Why invest heavily in an area where the impact won't be as great? Sad but true, Nate isn't worth $10+M/year on the cap.

In other LOST news, I was reading that there was a convention thingie last week. Most of the stars and writers were on stage to take some questions, etc. So, Abrams came out and said that they are not in purgatory, this is a theory he wants to nip in the bud. And in the Locke: Good or Evil debate, the stars were all asked to raise their hands if they thought Locke was a Good character. They all kind of looked at each other. No one raised their hands. Then the guy who plays Boone started smiling/laughing and raised his hand, kind of a joke b/c his char and Locke are tight.

There was also the fact that when he was arrested, he had a large knife, a hacksaw, plastic bags, etc. in his trunk, and directions to Amber Frye's workplace that he'd downloaded that day. Think he wanted to take her out to dinner at the Roadkill Cafe?

Last week they were saying no new eps until 16 April, but they now have bumped it up to 30 March. I also hear the season finale is going to be 2 1/2 hours. Sweet!
