now they needed to put bodies on him because he is talented. IMAGINE a one tech next to him with von on one side and Floyde on the other. You cant double team von, ed, a one tech and floyd at the same time. So the point goes he needs to win the one on one battles moving forward and his production will go sky high. Thanks for recognizing it
-
guess you still miss the part that he was double teamed all game. He was basically playing the role of a 1 tech. that is what they do. take on double teams.
-
yep. People need to stick to their guns or admit defeat... I have done a little of both on this topic he was double teamed all game long.. where was the rest of the line that game. That is a question you should be asking.
-
/yep. Oliver is just average Great find! Thank You!
-
Simply put.. to much cup half empty additude.

I do not understand the gloom and doom of the Bills current roster situation, But everyone has the right to have an opinion so yea. it is what it is.
-
yep and at that point either way, this whole conversation will be mute. People in Olivers range will be paid more because Oliver was last to set market at his range. OR Oliver turns out to be better and less injuries. this could seriously go either way. But I look at it cup half full

DT https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/defensive-tackle/2023/full-cap/ 28.04 DE https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/positional/defensive-end/2023/full-cap/ 21.65 would you like to reevaluate that answer sir?

Drafting is not always the solution. You say that like you know what you are getting from the draft, Drafting players at times is like rolling dice. You may roll snake eyes or you may roll box cars. This is crystal ball stuff you are saying here.

crickets

Wrong sir. IT is a good deal because Other players at his same Calibur are going to get paid more... making it a better deal next year. We can not have all stars at every position mate. There is a word that goes around the NFL. It is called Servable. Oliver is better than Servable.

I like having the conversations when it stays on topic. But what I enjoy about your work is at times, we all need to be educated right? because we can not possibly know it all. I like your work because at times... you learn a few things and change your tune.. Kind of like what I did about Oliver myself considering his playing hurt/injured. We all here to have the fun discussions and we all learn something new every day yes?
-
I have mixed the words "playing hurt" Paying injured " many times.. and to be honest. your spot on Other than opened up cap space, I do not know why we are equating this thread to Hopkins in any way. Davis plays hot/cold but we will see how this ends up

there is a difference between voicing an opinion and trolling... you know damn straight you do both. and you keep posting those faces because you know I am right...
-
and the unfortunate part of the forums. to many trolls. to many awful narratives. But we all have the right to our opinions.

Congratulations to the Buffalo Bandits!

oh man. tempers would be flying over that one around here lol -
I am sticking to my guns on this. over the next year his top 15 pay will look like top 25 pay do to new contracts. Trying to get better valued player when we are not sure what Olivers ceiling is, I disagree to. We need one healthy year to evaluate Oliver (if that even happens.. my biggest concern) to seek his full potential. To soon... to crystal ball like for me to say we could of done better with less money in the future.
-
this is arguable with some on the boards and i am not here to argue a fair opinion for the first bolded. To the rest? We have not seen the best out of Oliver because of injuries... @Simon was kind enough to educate me on this matter and I looked it up. What we do not know is 1. how much those injuries effected his game post injury while he was not 100%. 2. Players are different when you surround them with talent. He ad some good games with Von by his side and even last years preseason practices... They said they could not have von and oliver on the field at the same time cause our offense would get blown up all the time. Now that was not saying much but that did show that against average with single player on him and a 1 tech DT on his other side.. his game was vastly elevated. Only time will tell.
-
What the Oliver contract does is, sets a market for his skill set. In a year from now when 10+ other DT are signed, that top 15 contract will turn into a top 22-25 contact and makes more sense. I just want the dude to have 1 full healthy season to bring everything he has to the field. He could step it up this year, making that contract look even better.
