The Browns absolutely should take Barkley at #1.
They'd get the best player in the draft and would have their choice of 2 out of Mayfield, Allen, Rosen and Dahnold.
They'd be best off taking Mayfield at #4 and letting someone else take the turnover machine in Darnold.
To me that means they do not believe in any of the QBs.
Id trade down at 4 too if I were the Browns.

Awful idea...call the game right and you wouldnt have DBs just tackling WRs that get beat. That will completely take away from the game.
We want football to be more exciting....but we cant watch that 80 yard TD reception anymore. Which is it NFL?
-
Idk if this is something to get that irate about lol....
Im not fond of the idea of Tyrod starting...but tbh...if we can bulk up on the lines...I guess i can live with it.

I guess consensus is EJ is gone.
I dont really mind if hes gone or not. I think we have to find another guy to add in now. We dont know what we will get out of Vontae and hes coming off season ending surgery.
We did very well in the secondary last year, which was a big surprise.

Yea hes gone. Nice player but hes hurt an awful lot to sign the deal that hes gonna get on the open market. I really like to davis signing. The guy is a great tackler and play press if needed. He will thrive in Mcdermotts system
Well lets not forget about Vontae's injury last year.
To be honest, id rather have both on the team unless the Bills will pursue something else this offseason/draft.

Does it mean hes gone? Do we need to have both? Did we have any rotational guys do well in EJ's absence? I remember there was one guy out there last year that was horrible.
-
With Allen its more Bust or.....wait....this guy is actually good? wtf?
-
I like Rosen....but I dont like him for potentially 3 1sts.
I think Mayfield has a better shot to make it. Shorter QB, prolly the smartest of this years bunch. The xfactor here....hes got something to prove because of that height. Nothing like a chip on your shoulder to keep you goin every day.

I thought Beane said he wants a - pocket passer specialist?
If you take him at his word, then Jackson isn't on the radar in the first 2 rounds.
Yeah. I can see him making some noise in the NFL....but Im just tired of not having a pocket passer. Id steer clear.
-
Saw the draft breakdown vid of him vs FSU.
I can def see why people want him. Explosive player. He would be a real pain the ass to gameplan for.
Does remind me of Vick.
Its clear to me that if you can contain his big play rushes. He will struggle in the pocket.
He missed some easy throws and his placement isnt good.

Zay sucked because of Tyrod.?
Lol. I will say I think his development was hindered because of Tyrod. I think he was gonna struggle regardless, but more throws from a better QB would most likely got him over his slump.

Seems natural to make an offer for cousins...good enough to get us moving the sticks and keep us in playoff contention...we get to keep those picks and continue the build.
-
I woulda fired him right after that 4th and short toss call. Jus sayin

We have a very inconsistent line. To me, if we plan on getting an FA QB, upgrading both sides of the line is the priority.

The current rules on offensive PI are fine... they just need to call it! So many receivers push off, even some (most) of the star WRs around the league. They got good at it too... extending their arm about 80% right before the ball comes, but not 100%, so the zebras let it go, but it's a major advantage.
They do know how to get away with it....but let me tell you...DBs know how to grab on a break and get away with it too. So I think while the rules favor the offense. Defensive players can get away with stuff and its not that hard.

Nope nope nope nope nope

The QB is the one that gets u there every year.
The rest of the team helps the qb win those games in the playoffs.

They should institute 2 levels of PI, both with different penalties. A PI 1 is just your basic strong contact, no intention of taking the WR out - 15 yards penalty. A PI 2 is blatant and intentional, purposely trying to take out the WR so he cant make the catch - spot foul
Dont give the refs more power.

I wonder just how much of it was Mike Tomlin's doing.
I have been under the impression his headset was never plugged in.
I can see him doing well in all aspects except schematics/play calling. I remember his 1st couple of years there...never said a word, not involved with the other coaches on the sideline and the booth.
Not every HC has to make up a scheme and call plays. He just needs to have the players behind him while the OC/DC do their jobs.
-
The current line is manageable....but you have to aim higher if you want to dominate games on the ground and protect ur new QB.
-
OL/DL/QB/LB
I believe in the WR core with a better qb.

I called Romo being an all star in the booth back when I used to watch him play Pee-Wee football in Burlington, WI. Quit trying to steal my thunder.
Romo wasnt quite there yet. When you really saw his potential was during his highschool basketball days. He would call plays when he was on the bench as a joke with his buddies.
Man was he special.
-
Dont really see the WR making him look good outside of 3 or 4 of those throws. Which seems pretty normal.
They look good down the field together. Good video. Dunno if im drafting them...but good video nonetheless.

KC destroyed the Titans last Saturday. Then Kelce went out, they left the run game. Defense got soft.
If you ask me that’s all coaching.
Yeah. I put a lot of the woes on coaching for the chiefs this year.
But ive seen Kelce waving his hands wide open on many occasion this year. Alex does miss alot of open look.
But lets be real....Whats gonna happen when the Chiefs end up playing the pats or steelers. Titans, Bills, Jax, KC.....dont really have much hope for a ring.
The question is...will alex smith get you a ring? Answer. No.
