  1. - Defense did another good job, but Dalton was better yesterday. He made good decisions, avoided the sacks/pressures.

    - That number 31 made some mistakes and makes you miss Gaines.

    - Offensively....I mean...I didnt think id be saying not having Matthews would matter....but it did. Zay isnt ready and we need that middle of the field presence. WRs could just not get open yesterday. Clay down...forget it. Nice job by Oleary though. Praying for Glenn to return....we need our rushing attack to have some life.

All in all...we are doing pretty awesome for a year I thought was a total wash. Lets hope we get healthy during the bye and play some good football in the weeks ahead.

  2. Based on what I saw..its say like 75/25 Tyrods to blame.

I mean...Zay ran the route the way it was intended.. towards the pylon. Thats where the ball should have been thrown. That alone put Tyrod mostly at fault. I understand he wanted to throw it in the open space between the safety and the db...I dont expect Zay to recognize whats happening to Tyrod and then curl in the open spot while hes running full speed to get to the endzone on a 4th down.

Ideally if you are Zay the earlier you get your head turned the better you get to see whats going on with the throw and react better....

Anytime the receiver has to torque his body to the other side its a very tough catch. I thought just the fact that he was able to get hands on the ball was impressive enough.

But if you wanna be the guy...you want to catch that ball.

  3. We should be a little more aggressive on offense.

I get the whole run the clock out deal because the defense was poor last year, but seeing how inefficient the run was yesterday...

Id be ok with some more aggressive passing, maybe a 2:1 or even 3:1 ratio.

We would essentially put a little more pressure on the defense to make stops and maybe put them in tougher field position....but....without the offense doing anything productive, well never get where we want to be.

  4. You really feel like Shady is a dime-a-dozen?!?!

Also, I'll never get this "it's a passing league, so we need to pass" logic. That it's a passing league means you need to have a good pass rush and disruptive front 4 or 5 (check) and a solid secondary (less so, but we'll see). However, an argument can be made that having a ground game is the smart move in the current NFL. Modern defenses are built towards stopping the passing game in such a league, plus it keeps their D on the field and yours off it.

You could further argue we only won 7 games because we had a porous, sloppy defense and a coach, who while (hopefully) well-meaning, forgot how to use things as basic as times out and challenges (we may have lost two games b/c he didn't call a time out fast enough against a yippy kicker, and he didn't "realize" you could challenge a call that would have changed the dynamic of another game). New Orleans only won 7 games the last three years with Brees throwing for around 5000 yards and 30-plus touchdowns. Should they trade him?

Finally, in all my years as mostly a lurker, yours is one of my favorite screennames ever, fwiw :)

I think youre kinda right.....Losing Sammy hurts more than just his reception count. Which wasnt even that impressive. Sammy pretty much took a safety out of the game.

If there is no threat to the passing game....even if we didnt have a good one...we could show the illusion of one just by Sammy lining up on the outside.

There will be almost zero respect this year against our passing attack.

So if the passing attack isnt working...then in order to win, defense needs to play great and the rushing attack has to work enough to get first downs. Thats no simple task week in and week out.

The only hope is for Tyrod to give defenses a reason to back off their safeties....and without Sammy he hasnt been able to do it. If he can....god bless....if he cant....id rather tank the year. lol

  5. Tanking is probably the best option.

We have/had some potential, but its obvious the team is looking to build something new long term.

What we have now...can keep us around 500....but is that whats best for us?

Having 6 picks next year in the first 3 rounds. The earlier that pick the better. Nom sayin.

  6. Its really hard to say.

If they believe they have a playoff shot. Tyrod.

If they dont believe they have a playoff shot....it could still be Tyrod.....because they need tickets to sell and some people are very stingy with their money. (I didnt pay to see the Bills lose...Nice try...of course you did...why does anyone not a fan of the pats buy tickets at all then?)

If they wanna believe that Tyrod can have a future here...hes gonna play all 16.

If they are mathematically out. Peterson if Tyrod doesnt play well enough.

Ive given up on Tyrod being a proper passer. Good enough to win...not good enough to franchise. Id start Peterson with an 0-3ish start and let it ride.

  7. I called late last week. Told them that the bill was too high. We are pretty much paying our monthly rate for HBO and ST asked if they could help me out so we could stay with them.

They took discounts across the board so that my bill would be the same with ST MAX included with 4 months of free Showtime and Cinemax. I was pretty happy.

I was pretty bummed about not being able to get in touch with the boss of the guy that helped. I wanted to put in a good word on account of his help. He said, there isnt really anyone i can talk to, but they do give a survey.
