It is a fireable offense.
This OFFSEASON has been ALL about getting that QB
What if nobody in the top 5 is willing to part ways with their pick?Do you give up this draft and a 2019 1st rounder for it?
There has to be a limit man.

I don't ever believe in giving up a season. You just do what you can and let things play out. I don't like a defeatist mentality.
If the Browns actually get a franchise QB this year you have to think tanking is worth everything. You look at the Browns roster and look at what they could add after the draft....
They could easily have turned the corner.

Consistent high level QB.
Pretty much a guy who will be playing at a probowl level almost every year.

We been done that road, a main reason for no success since Kelly. No more undersized or running QBs, that can't stand in the pocket and deliver the ball. Fitz, Taylor, Manuel, Losman, etc. We had the best passing stats with Bledsoe. A traditional QB.
I will be happy with Darnold, Rosen, Allen or Rudolph.
With the exception of Rudolph all those guys are pretty mobile and throw outside of the pocket.

I think you could be able to give him that kinda money if you had a rookie contract on a QB or something.
To pay RB and WR and QB a hefty sum....there wont be any cap room for anyone else.
-
I think there will be some pretty good non QB players because of the QB rush. So we could get some talent in the first without taking a QB.
I think there will be more regret not trading up for one of those QBs and them panning out vs trading up for one and him not panning out.

There are going to be a looooooot of bad flags for this.

If you had the choice between taking a guy that could start day one, and one who needed to sit a year to just get to the point of the 1st day starter, why would you ever draft the guy who needed to sit?
Well then if they take Allen....wouldnt that mean they think by year 3 Allen will be miles ahead of your day 1 QB.

McCarron was the best of ALL the available QB prospects and we got him for very little.
You want to go with "proven", well then of course he will not be on your good list. But why bother to make a whole post built around the fact that the man hasn't played many games? We all know that already.
And then you go on to assume we will get borked in the draft, which of course, you can't possibly know.
It really cant be the best move until its proven.
Most of the other QBs signed have tape.
AJ doesnt really have much tape.

I think Allen would be an interesting prospect....like....I saw like 5 videos of "all the throws".
Hes not as bad as the people that are hating on him say....but hes def not as good as the scouts think.
Passing on some premiere talent for Allen early in the draft I think is dumb....if he drops and youre in a good position to not hurt if he doesnt pan out, I think you pull it.
The scouts see all the physical tools......and see the potential....but is the team that drafts him gonna be the team to mold him into the QB they think he can be?
Hes gotta be in a great situation to have a chance to improve. If this guy goes on a crappy team/system/oline I think hes gonna bust.
-
I liked what Darby brought to the table. I wonder what they saw that they didnt like. If the guy wasnt buying in....i can see them moving on.
-
I think hes shown a lot of good things out there...
The one glaring weakness is how he handles pressure. I think you saw his worst plays when he was affected by pressure.
Im not gonna be banging the table for peterman to play...but if he has a good camp and shows the coaches something...i wont go crazy if he ever starts.
-
I think its both. There were plenty of times where a simple climb would have avoided sack/pressure/negative outcome.
I think plenty of times he evaded a sack that would have been caused by poor blocking.

Bill Polian....lol.....

A GM with his job on the line. He has to pick the right QB.
I could see the GM going your route.

Wtf happened to Bridgewater?
They finally got their hands on some tape.

Im assuming all of these QBs will be backups...
we arent starting a season with anyone on this list.

Made the playoffs. Wasnt great...but was a high character guy. He could have been a reason some of the new coaching staff took the job.

So this weekend I go on a cruise, someone tells me while im plastered.. Tyrod gets traded for a 3rd rounder. Bought a round of shots.
Im taking donations guys. It looks like when I hit the cruise ships we make some key moves. Lets get me on another cruise...Im thinkin draft weekend.
Ill always be a little thankful for Tyrod. He was good enough to break the streak. Wish him good fortune.
