Defense Peaking at Right Time!
SlimShady'sSpaceForce replied to MarlinTheMagician's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
https://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/35420/buffalo-bills-defense-getting-healthy-hitting-stride-at-right-time The defense returned 80%, good for seventh most in the league, which made it a surprise early this season when the unit didn't play to the standard it had set in 2018 and 2019. During that span, Buffalo allowed the fewest yards per game and fourth-fewest points per game in the NFL. Through the first half of the 2020 NFL season, the defense ranked 16th in yards per game and 14th in scoring. But the group is rounding into form at a good time this late in the season, holding the Pittsburgh Steelers to 224 total yards and 15 points during Buffalo's win in Week 14. Since Week 9, the Bills own the sixth-best run defense in the NFL and the second-best third-down defense. One reason for the surge: they're getting healthy, with linebackers Matt Milano and Tyrel Dodson, and cornerbacks Josh Norman and Levi Wallace all returning from stints on injured reserve. To be fair, the defense's continuity took a hit when starting defensive tackle Star Lotulelei opted out of the season. And again in Week 1, when Milano and fellow starting linebacker Tremaine Edmunds suffered injuries. In Milano's case, when he takes the field Saturday at the Denver Broncos (4:30 p.m. ET, NFL Network), it will mark the first time this season he has played in three consecutive games. -

https://www.patspulpit.com/2020/12/15/22176411/afc-east-report-nfl-week-14-patriots-bills-dolphins-jets AFC East Report: Bills are one win from the division title Thanks to an impressive victory over the previously one-loss Steelers on Sunday night, Buffalo is now only one win away from its first division title since 1995. At 10-3, all the team needs to do is beat one of their remaining opponents — the Denver Broncos, the Patriots, or the Dolphins — to capture the division crown. While it remains to be seen whether or not they can actually finish the job, their performance against Pittsburgh suggests that the Bills will eventually do that. Here is how the Bills can win the AFC East: * A Bills victory against the Broncos on Saturday. * OR a Dolphins loss against the Patriots on Sunday.

It started out a slugfest Some might say a boring defensive game. A dink and dunk offense by the Steelers with some good defensive plays. The Bills were a little slow to start on offense but strong on defense the first half. Then the switch flipped ON with the INT at the end of the half and the Bills stole all the momentum going into the half. 2 offensive scores in the 3rd (say what) kept the train rolling. the one Steelers TD drive was inevitable. It had nothing to do with a prevent defense. I find that this typically happens with as good a team the Steelers are. Just can’t stop everything. Josh went from a poor start to at one point 11 for 11 on passing and Collinsworth was astonished 😯. Another convert from the ranks of doubters. it would have been nice to ruin the undefeated streak but hey we can’t have everything.
