  1. Of course that bothers me - if it happens. I don't get why Pats fans come here trying to convince Buffalo fans that they're back & Mac is just going to keep it all going. Is it possible to still be insecure after the success their team has had? I post on other team's board, but I'm mindful of basic etiquette. I can be all homer here, and overhyping Bills players - but I just wouldn't do it on a rival's board, or really any other board.
  2. Who is "doubting" Mac Jones? According to Pats fans, he is already as good as Brady and in the HOF with another 6 Lombardi's. According to ESPN & the rest, the AFC East had one non-Patriots year, and now it's over. Mac Jones is the most hyped QB I've seen in decades.
  3. I mean, I love his game - but who cares what Mathieu says about Mac Jones?
  4. I've heard "Yankees suck" at Bruins game. I've heard it at Celtics games. I've heard it (of course) at Red Sox games, even when they were in the World Series. I have always wondered why they do that. I mean, the Patriots ARE in our heads here, or at least some of us - but I'd be embarrassed if our fans chanted that anywhere except for a Bills/Pats game. And of course - BB is going to have that team in contention as long as he's there. The hype is a bit much right now, but if they continue winning it's warranted.
  5. These kinds of threads get comments on the Pats boards. Their fans generally say something like "we live rent free in their heads." Then, they go to a Bruins game and join in a rousing crowd chant of "Yankees suck!"
  6. I wish I felt that way. I actually realized when Brady left that it was more about BB & the fans there. I didn't mind Brady at all once he was in Tampa. Boston sports in general is a nemesis for me, being a Yankees & Knicks fan also. Their teams have had such enormous success over the past 20 or so. The fans are cartoonishly arrogant - which I suppose would happen to any fanbase, but it's still annoying.
  7. None of those QB's has BB - which is much better than having any kind of #1 receiver. I think any of the top 5 QB's would be performing just as well this year had NE drafted them, with the possible exception of Lance, who is a true project. Mac's play is being incredibly overhyped right now. Mainly because he's on the Patriots, who are the new Cowboys in terms of 24x7 sports news coverage and hype. Mac hasn't done a thing yet.
  8. It's bad - but I thought we'd be seeing these announcements every other week. If it's just one player here or there, the Bills should be able to overcome that.
  9. Goalpost move. You were comparing the accomplishments of Brady and Rogers based on what kind of QB each is. "If KC didn't have a defense he would not have won a ring?" I don't even know what that means. What SB-winning QB would that not be applied to?
  10. Um....coaching? Better team construction & organization? The bolded is hilarious. He's 26...and he only has 2 SB appearances and 1 ring? Golly.
  11. They're the Cowboys now. We'll have to get used to this. Everything about them will by hype x 1,000 - even when they're a bad team. I'm so New Englanded out. Tired of BB, tired of the "Patriot Way," tired of all of it.
  12. Yeah - I get REALLY scared about the Montana/Young thing. But like you said - it's a very small sample size. You mention Garropolo, and I see a lot of similarities. I remember being kind of afraid of him in the same way, because he played really well in New England. I still think he's a decent QB, but players can tend to turn into pumpkins again once they leave the safe womb in NE of excellent coaching and superior team-building. I have to ask, what if one of the other top 5 QB's from last year's draft were in NE? I think BB would be doing the same with Lawrence or Fields. Probably even Wilson. I hate the Patriots, but they should be the model for QB development throughout the league. Don't put too much on a rookie - design plays around his strengths, and build his confidence before you really give him the reigns. Really agree w/ that last part. After having the GOAT QB for almost 20 years, you should really have to go to purgatory for awhile. They jumped to the front of the line again, or so it seems. I doubt their younger fans even appreciate it. I'm sure the old dudes do.
  13. Here's how I'd talk myself into it if it happened: I mean, who could do well on the Jets? The Chiefs & Ravens have too many weapons. Someone is going to coach him up...why not us? Yes! Our running game is back! I do this. I do this w/ every signing.
  14. Kind of a stretch. Mac has been a game manager - a very accurate game manager, but they put him in that position. It's excellent coaching, but the idea that he's going to move up and down the field w/ "little resistance" is wild speculation. Not really based on anything.
  15. I watch quite a bit of Patriots football. Against the Browns, Jones had more time in the pocket than I've probably seen this season, for any QB & team. He had the real luxury of time. It made me envious, because Allen never gets that. If Allen had that kind of protection, he'd be setting records. There have been other games that NE had where protection broke down. Not surprisingly, Jones wasn't as good when that happened. He was actually pretty bad. Just about any QB can look good behind a good line. Not taking anything away from Jones, since he has been good for a rookie - but that was what NFL scouts expected him to be. He was the most ready to step in and start, but low upside. I haven't seen much to change that. The hype is over the top - it wouldn't be like that if he didn't play for NE (only if he played for the Cowboys & was doing the same).
  16. It would be kind of hilarious if the Falcons blew out the Pats on Thursday night...
  17. I'm probably too defensive about it - it's not like I didn't have 2 decades of sugarcoating the Bills prospects and believing when there was no reason to. And Pats fans have more reason to than I ever did in that time. They still have the best coach in the league, and Jones does look good. Still, I don't necessarily want to hear about it here on a Bills board. I'm still working through my Patriots issues and this is my safe space.
  18. Double standard. You basically disqualified the Bills win at KC, and now it's all about "better teams." Is it "better teams," or teams that are struggling when you play them? Doesn't matter. We'll see how everything shakes out. I'm sure in New England, everyone thinks that Jones is as good as Brady, the Pats are ready to start another 20 year run & that everyone they beat is amazing.
  19. They're exactly the same. The Jags are hardly as bad as the perception. They've been improving & playing good football, despite their record.
  20. Were the Browns not a "mess" when you played them yesterday, without most of their starting running game? How about the Panthers with Darnold? The Chargers win seemed good at the time, but they might not even make the playoffs at this point. The Pats wins haven't been more impressive.
  21. Homerism gets a bad rap. It's the only way to be. I thought Orton was the answer. And I'm proud of that.
  22. So....you're saying they haven't been perfect? I can't disagree.
  23. You hope the Bills lose to the Colts?
  24. You're a Patriots fan in '21 - talking about how the Bills haven't really beaten anyone good?
  25. The hype for him is out of control at this point. What he's doing is impressive - but pretty much what NFL scouts predicted. He was the most pro-ready, the most ready to step in and play exactly like this. It's his ceiling that most doubted. Maybe they're wrong on that, but he has a long way to go to prove that if it's the case. The NE line is ridiculous at this point - I watched a lot of that Browns game, and Mac was just chilling in the pocket, surveying the field, taking his time. No pressure. Almost any QB can look great in those circumstances.
