Thinking back... someone mentioned to me that Directv owned sling. This is an area that I don't want to talk about publicly but they are reliable, especially if you have a few different ones. One thing I will say though, I have watched Bills game live on Youtube of all places.

I'm pretty sure that any smart neighbor, family person over say 15 nowadays could help you with hooking things up. But, there really isn't anything to hook up except the antenna. The rest is just signing into your internet. Sling is easily done over the phone. Edit: I read this back and I am in no way insinuating that you aren't smart, so my apology if it came off that way. What I meant is that a lot of the younger folks are way above us older guys when it comes to the new technology... I lean on them myself at times.

That is a question that I can't answer... but, sling, ruku, etc let you pause programs if you want to watch them at a later date.

They are found on the internet. You should really think about cutting the cord man... we have so many tv options out there now that it is mind boggling. For the most part we still only watch a dozen channels anyways.

I'm east of Tampa. Internet bill didn't go up at all. Where you are you might be able to get Tampa, Orlando, and Gainsville tv with an antenna. I get stuff south of here mainly... Sarasota, Bradenton, and the local Tampa stations. Thing is, now there are like 3-6 channels attached to each channel, for instance, channel 13 has 4 channels... PBS has a whopping 6.

I'm curious then, why don't you just dump the cable and get a $50 dollar antenna for your local channels? That's what the 60 mile range one cost me at walmart. Sling is excellent, I recommend it to anyone. That not looking back feeling is pretty cool.

Did here a few months ago... was with Directv for 17 years. What a great move. Directv was $100 a month for a basic service, I ditched the Sunday Ticket years ago. No longer needed it in this day and age. So I bought a Ruku smart tv, a 60 mile range antenna (very flat in Florida, get almost a hundred channels on that alone), and signed up for Slingtv. Sling is $25 a month ($28 after taxes and whatever) and has all of the channels me and the wife like, and also has NFL Network. The same @#%# we were watching for $100. And more. AMC, Food Network, Nat Geo, History, Travel... on and on, same ones we had with Directv. Lots of movie channels. Anyone else here done the same or something similar? If so, any good tips on what to download? There is a !@#$ ton of free stuff out there, looking for recommendations.

These are through dealerships... their ads permeate the news and other tv shows. In fact, most of the car commercials here seem to be about leasing, not buying... maybe 60/40 or so. As far as unlimited miles I doubt it though... maybe 30k on a 4 year lease, I'm not exactly sure on that one. What part of the country do you live in?

Wow. If you are talking about leasing a car that is majorly high. I live in Florida and it's pretty routine to lease a car for $250 a month, or less. The usual Kia, Honda, Toyota, Ford kind, not high end vehicles though.

I always tip and have given every driver 5 stars... if you got me from point A to point B with no problems, english speaking or not, you are getting that. A lot of these drivers around here are retired and are just racking up some golf money...

I still don't believe that report, there are too many variables. For instance, the lady I mentioned was at the other end of a parking lot/retail space so she only drove a few hundred feet to pick me up. Gas is cheap right now, at least around here... $2.37 a gallon or so, and a lot of cars now are getting 30-40mpg. Where I live is flat as a pancake so they are getting the most out of their gas. I'd say that over half that I've used don't even own their car, they lease it... so the wear and tear part is a moot point with them, maintenance too. Depreciation means zero in their cases. Location. I don't live in a city but it is a vast area of retail, houses, apartments, restaurants, etc so drivers don't really have to look far or wait long for a rider. I've had drivers get a ping for the next rider as they dropped me off wherever. My ride to the dentist this morning was a dude who barely spoke any english (but listened to country music, thought that was kind of funny), but the ride back to the house was a 30's something guy with two girls in elementary school. I asked him if he knew how much I was paying for the ride and he said he had no idea, only what he gets paid. So, that part seems to be conflicting... seems some (like you) know, and some do not. Wonder why that is.

I use Uber once or twice a week, always good service. I suppose it depends on where you live of course. Mostly for work but the occasional ride somewhere's else... like the dentist tomorrow :-( Since we lost one car it has been a life saver. What I have found is that the drivers don't know how much you are paying for a ride. My employ is 6-7 miles away and it costs me around $10.00-$11.50 each way if I use Uber. Was talking with a lady driver around a month ago about the service and told her what I was paying. She said great, no one has ever told me this before, and when she dropped me off at the house she calculated it... she made $6.33 for my fare, and it took her around 15 minutes or so. Now, I make a point of letting the driver know how much I paid. I think the "report" in the OP is not true... just a bunch of jumbles numbers put together by someone who felt they needed to write something due to their deadline. Most drivers I've ever had love driving for Uber... and the happiest ones are the ones who keep their rides under 45 miles but higher than say a ride across the street. Those shorties are the ones that they like to avoid.

Interesting, good post. I agree with the process except for the alcohol. The paint edger makes sense as it is pretty much 10,000 tiny fingers... basically like the tool you get with the NG... had to think about that one for a minute lol. Do you use a broken turntable just to have the spin when you clean them? Seems some sort of platter would be needed.
