  1. Publix makes me wonder how Jersey Mike's exists. The wife went to mikes a couple of months ago for a sub and it was $11. Said she'll never go back and I don't blame her one bit. The Subway by me is pretty decent actually... maybe I'm lucky and have one of the good ones. Herb n Cheese roll is the choice here.
  2. Used to have Dog n Suds and Arthur Treachers back home... don't have them here either but I think DNS is still around and AT is being sold at other restaurants. Have a 5 guys 1,200 feet away... have no desire to way over pay for a burger, never gone there. There is a Moe's next door to them, haven't been in at least 10 years. I'll take Steak n Shake all day long for a good burger and there are so many mom n pop authentic Mexican places around that make Moe's look and taste like dog *****.

Do we know who the alien dude is?
  5. I remember another one from over there... think the name was Bing Cherry. Always had to be right and tried to own the internet. Funny fellow, had great jokes. Glad to see that Goldenwheels still posts.
  6. I'm pretty sure it was Gregg Pastore who made the decision to shut it down. No one had any idea at all, even the lead mod at the time Zman. What they Should have done is announced it with one day left for people to post, create their contacts with friends, etc. Also, the Sim league lost everything they had worked for Years on... although a couple of them told me that they had Some but not all backed up. Then, they should have let it go for a couple of weeks as readable without the ability to post so people could further salvage what they could. Tom Donahoe nearly had the place shut down many years earlier though... had been reading it and didn't like what he saw, and That is when the CoC on that board was born. Old time posters remember when there wasn't one. It was either that or shut it down. All water under the bridge now.

I threw in the word "point" when I commented earlier... Room to Move was on the LP "The Turning Point".

With a bit of chicka chicka.. I don't think anyone can touch Mayall with the personel... Zappa yes, King Crimson yes. It was almost like a school for musicians. God love the bluesbreakers.
  9. Exactly what I was thinking... told the wife this is pretty early for this... but mother nature does what she does whenever she wants.

I'll give up the answer so someone else can have a go. That is a young John Mayall... the musicians who have been through his groups is staggering. Here is the list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_John_Mayall_band_members One of my faves here:

Ricky dying young was tragic, same with Jim Croce... or anyone really. This guy is still alive though.
  13. I think its the grape one. We had these all the time as kids, although, as the song goes, "nobody does it better".

Not Steve Miller... but Jimi. Here is part of the story: Little Richard - 'I fired Jimi, who was using the name Maurice James all the time I knew him. He was a damn good guitar player, but the guy was never on time. He was always late for the bus, and flirting with the girls, stuff like that. It came to a head in New York, where we had been playing the Apollo, and Hendrix missed the bus for Washington, DC. I finally got Richard to cut him loose. So when Hendrix called us in Washington, D.C., I gave him the word that his services were no longer required. We had some words. I explained why we were doing this. I was running the road for Richard, and I didn't accept that kind of bull####'.
  20. Like the Doors... The Guess Who... The Grassroots... all different animals though. Jim apparently had a shelf life, Burton lived on. Steppenwolf hardly gets a mention these days. Monster for instance.
