  1. I was the first on this board to bring up Bass having problems. Everyone rolled their eyes at me saying he's fine. I've been critical of him ever since. Thought he mostly redeemed himself last year. This is a tough situation or will be if Bass gets healthy after that 4 week window. Id rather see how Prater does in bad weather. Id rather see how his leg holds up over the course, but we aren't going to see that in the next 3 weeks. Potentially the weather thing. I'd rather not take a cap hit for a guy that may still be a good kicker when healthy for a guy that is probably on his last season. I'm certainly not going to judge a kicker based on week one just because he made a few easy field goals. He did hit a 52 yarder and IIRC they were all pretty much dead center though so it's a good start. We never know how an older player is going to hold up for an entire season though. Tough call. Glad I'm not the one that has to make it.
  2. It looked like the target was Shakir on that play to me. He would have been in position to catch it. Not sure if the DB would have made a play to knock the ball down though as he was closing IIRC. He's a Chiefs homer but he has been pro Bills for the last couple years. He doesn't think McD is a good enough coach though.
  3. Section 1 - FORWARD PASS ARTICLE 6. INELIGIBLE RECEIVERS All offensive players other than those identified in Article 5 above are ineligible to catch a legal or illegal forward pass thrown from behind the line of scrimmage, including: Players who are not on either end of their line or at least one yard behind it when the ball is snapped; Players who fail to notify the Referee of being eligible as required by Article 5; An eligible receiver who has been out of bounds prior to or during a pass, either by his own volition or by being legally forced out, even if he has reestablished himself inbounds with both feet or with any part of his body other than his hands; or A player who takes his stance as a T-Formation Quarterback unless, before the ball is snapped, he legally moves to a position at least one yard behind the line of scrimmage or on the end of the line and is stationary in that position for at least one second before the snap. https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-video-rulebook/ineligible-receiver/
  4. I don't believe they were playing soft though. I believe we just opened our playbook up and let Allen sling it. Something they didn't do earlier.
  5. Gabe Davis isn't running this tree. Nor does Davis have the hands if he did. Allen's passing chart. They didn't chart any other receiver besides Coleman. Compared to Lamar Lamar still like that middle of the field a lot. Coleman was getting an avg of 7.7 yards of cushion and averaged 3.7 yards of separation. That separation was good enough to be 13th in the league. Tyreek Hill was averaging 3.8. Flowers was getting 5.3 ugh.
  6. Thats how McDs defense used to work. They wouldnt let anything over the top. They would dictate to throw short and rally to the ball fast and make the tackle. They just dont seem to rally to the ball anymore and even when they do they miss tackles. Technically, they can shove them while the QB is scrambling outside of the pocket up until the qb throws the ball. I remember I think it was Richard Sherman shoved McKenzie to the ground in the endzone and this board, including me, was in an uproar about it for no flag but it turns out that was a legal play because the QB was scrambling outside the pocket at the time of the shove. I'm not saying thats what happened in this case as I don't know where Josh was at the time of this shove.
  7. I think Lamar should have been the bigger man and not done that. However, I don't blame him or hold any ill will about it. The fan was in the wrong and was a complete asshat. I hope he is banned from the stadium for life. He has no business putting his hands on any player or anyone for that matter. Lamar may get a fine for that because the NFL will probably say they hold players to a higher standard, but I don't think he should be. A lot of the fines I find to be garbage.
  8. It was whatever. I'm going by what people at the game said and what I seen on TV. There were a lot of empty seats. Pardon me if I didn't accurately count each individual to make a scientific analysis of it.
  9. I think it was probably something like this... the dude embraced and loves this city and it's fanbase because of this. He is constantly praising how awesome the fans are. They hit some adversity today and it probably hurt him a bit that 2/3rds of the stadium had just up and left because of that adversity. It would be like if you were in a relationship with your wife and you are constantly praising how she is always there for you and how much she loves you, but then one day you lose your job and she just up and leaves you because of it.
  10. They would have tried to make him a pocket passer from the get go. He wasn't a pocket passer and really still isn't but he improved quite a bit last season. The Pats would have already kicked him to the curb. Lamar went to the perfect situation with Greg Roman and a team willing to completely build around his strengths while also having a nasty defense.
  11. No. You were saying "revival." You might have meant "rival," but in multiple posts you wrote "revival." I know there is a math and literacy problem in school kids today but put in the hard work and you will be ok.
  12. Yes. There was at least 2 or 3 obvious bad spots today.
  13. Oliver was a damn beast out there today. It might have been his best game.
  14. Ultimately it really doesn't bother me all that much. I could make the argument that shoving someone out of bounds is obvious illegal contact but its not worth the effort lol.
  15. Maybe, but we don't play many teams like the Ravens this season. I'm not going to take any stock into a week 1 football game against arguably our worst matchup in the league.
  16. Just about the entire bills fan population was there for the comeback game during our SB years if that is any indication. From this camera angle, you can definitely see Coleman was shoved out. The 2 pointer should have counted. @Einstein asked earlier what does he have to do to re-establish himself. Not sure if you know the answer or not, but it's simply getting 2 feet back in bounds. Although, I am hearing from others that you can't re-establish at all if you are forced out the back of the endzone. The rulebook says "legally" forced out. Whats legally? Is it not illegal contact anyway you look at this?
  17. Heres the thing, and I looked this up because the ex ref on the show said this... It's not as soon as the slide begins. It's when they start a slide to declare down and anything besides hands or feet first touch the ground. I believe it was Josh's knee that first touched the ground and the ball was obviously past the mark by then. Plenty of video to see that. Rule from the actual book copy/paste... sliding or diving. When a runner slides or dives feet or head first or simulates sliding or diving, the ball is dead the instant he touches the ground with anything other than his hands or his feet, or begins to simulate touching the ground;
  18. From finheaven lol " dolphan said: Hell are we supposed to do against him? Seriously. His defense gave up 40. His receivers didn’t get open for three quarters. And he puts up 3 scores and 250 in the fourth quarter against a legit team. what is anyone in the division supposed to do? Honestly Fins should just petition the league to give them a loss when they go up to Buffalo. It will save both the organization and Fin fans from having to watch an absolute beat down administered by the Bills."
  19. The rematch in January is a good probability. No doubt both our teams will make the playoffs at least. The self destruct didnt happen though. Our team just kicked it up a gear and never count out Josh Allen. If you were referring to the fumble. That was forced. Thats not a self destruct. Defense makes plays too.
  20. Not sure if 15 in the last 5 minutes were at play here but in 2022 the Dolphins needed and scored 28 points in the 4th quarter to beat the Ravens that dominated them all game. I remember Fins fans started getting cocky after that. It was 35-14 at the start of the 4th in that game.
  21. At first I thought it was Praters wheelchair as I was scrolling down to it.
  22. They do it to hide the defense. I get that they want to be 2 dimensional and have a run game and I agree with that. This small ball crap is unnecessary to that though.
  23. 50? Im almost 52 and I look 30 compared to Prater. That dude looks easily 60s
  24. My wife, not a football fan, just looked at me like I was crazy. I screamed so hard after that kick.
