I did not expect it to be this close between this many guys

I think his upside has him in the 25-50 range. But I’m first to admit I don’t pay half the attention most of you guys do.

My browns pick for Surratt in that mock was based mostly on Cleveland doesn’t seem to follow the same patterns mocks produce and I wasn’t positive I could snag him in the second. I have been hearing a lot of them running this 3 safety look. Mack Wilson, Surratt and a safety dropping down sounded fun to me. I read something I think by Daniel Jeremiah saying JOK possibly played around 200 pounds and teams weren’t sure if he’d be as good bulking up to 220+ where he’s listed. So my guess was JOK and Delpit would kinda occupy the same role in Cleveland’s defense.

I think the browns scout different than some. They occasionally draft against the grain from who is ranked where. Me personally, I think JOK and Grant Delpit would play the same kinda role in Cleveland’s defense. I also read something that JOK played closer to 200 pounds last season.

Browns sometimes shake things up. I figured I could wait for the second round and maybe get him but with no trades etc etc on this one I figured I’d jump quickly

With the 26th pick in the 2021 mock draft the Cleveland Browns select Chazz Surratt, linebacker. Who doesn’t want a former quarterback turned linebacker right? There’s some room to grow here but we feel in today’s NFL Surratt is going to be an elite pass coverage kind of guy. We want to run a lot of coverage looks with our 3 safeties and we like what Chazz brings in those packages. Might be jumping early but I like his fit with this specific team. @Virgil and the Baltimore Ravens are on the clock

I thought the Saleh hire was fantastic for them. He’ll get the very most from his players every game. Definitely going to be a strong division for the foreseeable future

I’m not against bringing in someone of course if they upgrade the pass rush. Obada has some real breakout potential but I get why people want someone established already, Questions are ... How many defensive linemen are we gonna carry? Do we need a new thread for each free agent we like? We cutting Addison for this new linemen? Can they play special teams like Johnson and Obada so they can be active on gameday? Sooo many questions. So little time. Can’t believe the OP didn’t explain all this.

100% he’ll have a shot. It’ll be a tough job to win over the coaches though. I think it’ll take an injury to get him active.

I think Breida will get a chance for playing time. But it won’t be easy to win this staff over. Fans should prepare thats it’s possible he doesn’t get playing time without an injury. Mcdermott has a decent track record of sticking with players he’s previously comfortable with and making people really earn their time.

I would agree with that, IF they didn’t run Gore 1 yard at a time non stop while Yeldon twiddled his thumbs for a whole season.
