Hopkins released by Arizona (7/16: signed by Titans)
Chicken Boo replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Give it a day or 2. I'm sure there's more. People on here complain about the media, but they feed into and fuel everything they hear when the situation suits them. Never about the franchise as a whole or Josh though. That's blasphemy. -

Thank God! Taking snaps from better talent... -
That's your opinion. Drew was a stat padder. 2nd all time in passing yards, but is barely a top 10 QB all time.
-
14 Ints in 17 playoff games is costly. I distinctly remember him throwing pivotal interceptions in 3 of his later playoff appearances and while not playing well overall. The Saints ignored defense because they were strapped by Drew's gaudy cap hits. Graham and Colston overlapped prime years in only 3 seasons. Kamara and Michael Thomas the same. 3 seasons. For the record, I'm not a Drew Brees fan. His stats are misleading, which is why he had several 7-9 seasons while in his prime.
-
And that had nothing to do with Brees's penchant for turnovers? Those Saints offenses weren't loaded with talent. It was a very good system.

Sean Payton. With this current roster and 2 weeks to game plan, he'd be hard to beat. I really liked how aggressive he was in 2010 vs Peyton and the Colts.
-
We agree about Allen, but I never suggested taking snaps from Cook, as he didn't see the field enough either.
-
Hines is a home run threat where Singletary was not. 3rd down role should have bee split between he and Cook. You traded for him, he should have been way more involved.
-
Mighty defensive, aren't we? Hines averages about 50 rec per year for his career as a "backup". He had 11 total touches in 9 games as a Bill. Inexcusable.
-
I think so. I try to have a level head about things, so I'm not as adamant about McDermott NOT being the guy, but you can see the red flags. These posters espouse a narrative that's often in the back of my mind. It's hard to ignore. That said, I'm of the belief that McDermott is fully capable of leading the team to a Lombardi this season, so there's that. It's a struggle.
-
What? Dungy's Tampa 2 defenses are what McDermott has been trying to copy his entire career. He's actively trying to recreate it now. Tony rose that Tampa franchise from the dead and made them into a perennial contender with Shaun King at QB. He was hired by the Colts 8 days after being fired by Tampa. Again, built the defense to keep pace with their offense and led them to a Lombardi. You might wanna know what you're talking about before calling something dumb.
-
I actually applaud posters like newcam2012, PBF81, etc. They don't follow the herd and can actually see the forest for the trees. McDermott has done a great job in helping to build this franchise to where it is today, but soon it's going get to a point where just making the playoffs isn't good enough. I'm sure the players love him, but Bucs players loved Tony Dungy in 2000 as well.

Don't get me wrong, it's Super Bowl or bust. I'm just saying, as long as they give themselves the opportunity through a playoff birth...
-
As long as they make the playoffs, I couldn't care less what the record is. As stated above, it's a very tough schedule on paper.

Him rushing for 119 yards on 14 carries. You're right, that's exactly what happened. Mike McDaniels system. Hill, Waddle and Dalvin Cook. Absolutely NOT overreaction. That's 3 guys that are a threat to score every time they touch the football.
-
No he hasn't. If he goes to Miami, God help the league. That's not how it works.

I'd argue Ed Oliver borders on average himself. McGlinchey excels somewhere at least. Ed...
