A team of 5 Jordan's gets destroyed in the post in that era.
I'm not really a fan of these cross sport comparisons. They really make no sense. It's hard enough to compare QB's from the 80s and 90s to QBs today, now we are going to start comparing a 2 guard from the 90s to a QB?
No thanks, I don't even know where to begin. Go figure ESPN would be the place that creates a conversation that really can't be had.
So Jordan is the GOAT of what? Being a human being? You sound retarded.
And you sound like a grade a ahole. Who calls someone that?
GOAT team sport athlete. Should I spell it out to you Mr Genius?

LOL...talk about the wrong crowd to ask this question too. This board is far too biased to give this question a fair answer. Its going to be overwhelmingly no due to biased hate and disgust of everything Pats.
But the truth is, Brady's 5 SB's are more impressive than than Jordan's 6 rings. Its way easier to win multiple championships in the NBA than the NFL. The NFL has so much more violence and volatility than the NBA. There are only 5 guys on the court at a time in the NBA, compared to 11 in the NFL. So if you are dominant on the court, you are 20% of your team and much easier to overcome weaker players. In the NFL, a QB is impacted by the OL, receivers, etc, so its a lot harder for a QB to always be great the way Tom has because he has so many moving parts around him.
This won't be a popular answer here, and I get it, and its cool and all. But if we are being honest, the answer is Brady. And lets not forget Brady is still playing at an Elite level and still among the 5 best players in the NFL at 40 in a much more VIOLENT game and Jordan was a shell of himself at 40 when he retired for good.
You aren't entirely wrong as it is incredible the dominance of this Pats team under Brady. However, look at the coaching and players that have surrounded Brady and look at who Jordan played with and, perhaps more importantly, against, and you will see the difference. Jordan didn't play in a watered down NBA. He had Bird, Isaiah, Magic, Ewing, Drexler, Malone, Stockton, Barkley, Price, Penny and Shaq to contend with to win those titles. That's a murderers row. Brady is the greatest QB of all time, and that should not be argued, but Jordan is the GOAT and I hate that the two have been and wiil be compared.
-
No. Jordan won his rings via fierce determination and competitiveness like the world has never seen. Brady is good, but the black marks surrounding him tar his legacy immensely. Jordan was a jerk, but he was phenomenal at every level. And, let's be honest, his athletic talents far surpass any qb to play the game.

Based on his work with Stafford, I can't say I'd hate to see him on the staff. I'm finding it odd that the entire offensive staff outside of Rico has remained in place. Is that not the same thing they did to Rico? If you want a OC, who is very much going to be running his own offence, to succeed, should you not let him put a staff in place that aligns with his offensive strategy?

But he was subjected to 2 diff OC's of whom had NO clue at all!!! Hence the Dennison firing......NOT defending TT but defending the fact he was NOT set up to succeed.
GO BILLS!!
This has been the COT argument all along. The team schemed for him for two years and when he had to make the big play with his arm, he couldn't. I really like him as a person, but he's an RB playing QB. At some point the team needs a QB playing QB and the time is now.

I'll watch because it's tradition. I'll go in expecting the Patriots to win and if the opposite happens, I will be happy. It's a long break between games, so gotta get it in while I can.

I think we should all let that mistake of the Saints game pass for the OP. In terms of the needs you have addressed, I think you are pretty much bang on. If a free agent is acquired at QB, or a trade is made, then the top two picks spend on a D tackle and a inside linebacker, would be well spent. I like Preston , But we can assuredly do better and we need better to properly implement McDermott's scheme

I think you've confused yourself into thinking movies are reality. This is a Stanford biology degree we're talking about. His abilities to play football will not play into the minds of potential employers because 75% of them will care less if he even played any level of football. He's a biologist not a salesman. His brain is what they will care about.

Bradford is a good QB.... just way too fragile. If the plan is to play a vet 3 games then turn the position over to Peterman, and acquire a back-up to him as the vet is on IR the rest of the season, Bradford is the best man for the job. I'll make the assumption that is not the plan.

Vikings. A home Super Bowl win for a really good Fanbase. I have to root for a team like that. Also, after yesterday, it looks like this team might even have God on its side. And I never bet against God

How? Just people saying great hire because of BB or Saban. Others saying no. How is that a healthy conversation where is the beef?
Very valid point. A counter-point makes for a better conversation. I am not drinking the kool aid, but I like thehire based on what I saw a young, raw team in Alabama do with a QB that had a noodle arm and was softer than a down pillow. Once he had his QB in place, things opened up and it was a juggernaut on O. Get him a middle-of-the-pack starter and I am excited. Get him a franchis QB (I'm looking at you Mr Cousins) and we are looking at a contender. Just my opinion.

Nope, but it affirms my belief in the defensive coaching. Hopefully Daboll brings some of the same quality of coaching to the offensive side of the ball. Well, him and the new QB!

I will go on record as saying this is a big positive for the coaching staff. He is a younger guy who has shown both innovation and flexibility in his stints in the pros and college. As a previous poster stated, the second half of the National Championship perfectly exhibited that. Roughs stint on the Browns, but who has done anything better there since?

racial comments in Jags game.
They had a bunch of professional football idiots like Jerry Sullivan commenting. Basically they said that the failure of Incognito and the team to simply say that the truth was Incognito and the team did not make any racial disparities was in itself deafening.
Actually, while I think Sully is an idiot, like a broken clock he is actually right twice a day.
They remarked that given that there is a void of official Bills commentary on the issue that Incognito given his history of dirty play early in his career in GB and the race based debacle in Miami, that Incognito does not get the benefit of the doubt. He, Caruuci, and the other sport pundits are simply correct that while Incog deserves the right to say what he wants, the void left by not saying anything leaves, the fans, his teammates, and the media to reasonably assume Incognito guilty.
Too bad because he produces as a player, but if he continues to allow any good play by him to be overwhelmed by using racial slurs, the Bills should let Incognito go.
I hate it when solid football performers are idiots as human beings.
While
I have no idea what was or wasn't said, but why has only one Jags player come forth claiming this? Cog has a history, but his recent past shows a contrite and changed person. If he said something, let him face the consequences. If not, I'm sure he just wanted to get home from the season and relax. Why would a false claim dignify a response?

...agree that would be a pretty formidable lineup...........but this gang may hold Tice's previous indiscretions against him....
In March 2005, the NFL began to investigate Tice for organizing and profiting from a Super Bowl ticket scalping operation within the Vikings organization. He later admitted that these charges were true and the NFL fined him $100,000 on June 30, 2005. At the time, it was the largest fine ever handed down to a head coach in NFL history.
Tice was also the head coach during the Minnesota Vikings boat party scandal which occurred in October 2005. Some commentators believe that this incident led to his demise in Minnesota
I, for one, hope they like a redemption story. Tice is a very good OL coach and has been out of the papers for 13 years. I don't know him personally, but I think 13 years is enough time to let that water pass under the bridge.Just last year, Juan Castillo stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Pegula family. That cannot be forgotten or forgiven.

He had 160 more yards this year.....
If you cant see the trend of what happens to production when TT throws the ball to a WR or TE, you have to be too blind to watch the games anyway.
Mathews is a solid WR as Darby is a solid CB so considering the Bills netted a 3rd in the trade they did well.
Sammy 's yardage uptick cannot be used as an argument. He actually played a whole season. Other than that, good post

I like the Chud, Dorsey, Tice trio. I still think it's Bevell, but I was really happy to see Cable join Gruden's staff in Oakland so as to avoid that issue. I keep waking up thinking we'll have an announcement. Wonder how long this takes...

That seems to be the trend. Bears going college O system too. Will be interesting if NFL teams ever get away from huddling and having QBs call plays, and move to the college system of lining up and looking at the sideline for the play?
That would have to depend on the intelligence of the QB. If you trust the guy to run the show, let hum run the show. If he's a dunce with an arm, make sure he sees the play call and does what he's told. Just my take.

Except Sammy Watkins, you mean?
Sammy had some big games this year. His downturn was a product of the emergence of Woods and Goff's relationship with Kupp. They were both favoured heavily in the O. Aside from the wild card game, he came up big when his number was called. I would take his skillset on the team any day. He's still a hell of a receiver.

Me too. I think when Tom Cable went to Seahawks there O-Line nose dive down. Heck Cable makes Juan looks like HOF coach. I would like him but not Cable with him.
Cable honestly believes he is an offensive line mastermind. He thinks he can take guys that never played the position and turn them into all pros. Remind you Of a former Bills coach?

Ken Dorsey to the Bills?
