THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Ramblings of a Madman
Billzgobowlin replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I really think the thing that ails this defense is LBs. They are not instinctive and look behind on every player. QBs, RBs, WRs, FBs, TEs. Any player on offense they can't react. Now is that a coach issue or player? -
TT was a 3 and out QB the last two weeks and when defensive players keep saying they just make him be a QB and he chooses not to use his legs at all, he hurts this team. Peterman while he doesn't look like the answer was not helped by the right side of the line or his FB. Peterman should have taken a few sacks but I think we see why the Bills don't throw down the field enough.

Andrew Brandt Article about The Process with Eagles
Billzgobowlin replied to BigBuff423's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I believe this is a good philosophy, the down side is do the players lose hope before the process is finished. Also I think Peterman got a raw deal yesterday. A lot of those INTs were bad luck. He threw them because he was trying to be a competitor but he had zero room to step up and that left side of that line folded bad. This team is 5-5 no matter who was at QB. Is this game indicative of who Peterman is? I don't think so. Is Peterman a starting QB? I don't see how. This should convince the Bills to jump up in the draft to get the QB they need for once. Don't be like Cleveland settling for bottom tier or pass on Deshaun Watson. Make it happen this year -

Chargers preparing for both Tyrod and Peterman
Billzgobowlin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod is not even the most athletic QB on the roster, Joe Webb is. -
You are right but coaching is hard sometimes when you have someone like Tyrod that thrives under improv. He is not a system QB that you can count on consistency. Lynn did well with him and maybe he will be in San Diego at some point and Lynn will thrive under him but I doubt he has a future as a passing QB.

Bills will likely be thin at RB in Sunday
Billzgobowlin replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm guessing that move was more for STs than for the offense. I am slightly scared that Tolbert is the backup RB, he doesn't like he can run in space at all -
I'd be up for putting Lawson in the middle and Alexander pass rushing on passing downs. Makes you wonder though why Humber hasn't looked good since he has come back

I wonder what old Fred is up to.... In all seriousness if they think it's an issue they will probably just resign Banyard -
I agree with your assessment but I think they should do what Seattle did when they drafted Wilson. They thought they had the future with Flynn (I think that's who it was they signed) but yet they saw Wilson there in the 3rd. I just don't want the Bills to see their franchise QB in only 7 games. I hope Peterman takes it and runs with it but the scars run deep.

Bills' WRs suddenly have fantasy value...
Billzgobowlin replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sunday didn't really show gunslinger rather it showed someone that wasn't afraid to throw. Some were to tight windows but most were put in a spot where only his receivers could get it. I get soft zone coverage had to do with that but Taylor had same opportunities. I doubt they wanted him to fail. He was signed by the new regime so that would make no sense. -
The Last 5-4 Team to Sit a Vet for a Rookie?
Billzgobowlin replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a better offense than that was. I think the scheme is so out of whack from who Taylor is that the only way to fix the offense is to give it to someone who is made for this offense. -
Ringing endorsements from national media
Billzgobowlin replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd rather people laugh than do nothing and fail because the coaching staff is afraid to take risks. I want to see what Peterman can do, we already know what Taylor is We will have time to assess what he can do the next few weeks. -
I would feel sad if we couldn't beat Miami. That would show how much this team fell from a 5-2 start. You will lose the locker room at that point. I do feel like we have a lot on the uptick. Just look at the Eagles last year, I feel like we are on the same trajectory.

Sal C on WGR about QB position 2018
Billzgobowlin replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see anyway Tyrod gets the job for 2018 based on what his ability to read a defense is. The fact that he is not running at all in games shows how little they care about his skillset. -
Sal C on WGR about QB position 2018
Billzgobowlin replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am not sure DL is what they need, I would rather a LB that can play. Either way our defense will improve when they are not on the field for 42 minutes a game. -

Billzgobowlin replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills FO is wise Peterman will either be a Frank Reich or a Tom Brady. I'm good with either but I have to trust that if they don't get a 1st round QB they know Peterman has the skills to excel in this league. I'm not sure they don't start Peterman the rest of the year if he gives the best chance of winning. -
That's a good argument but we all know ebbs and flows of the season dictate. The only reason they went anywhere that season was Brees and what you are witnessing is a defense that can't make plays because they are constantly on the field. The game really got out of hand because the offense wasn't able to sustain and the defense got tired. If the Bills were down 21-14 would the defense be so tired. Tyrod other than the first drive looked horrid and it snowballed from there.

If Tyrod's the Starter, Then Why....?
Billzgobowlin replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The best I can tell is they are grooming Peterman or they honestly believe Taylor gives them the best chance to win. One thing we don't know is what the coaches know, that being how ready is Peterman to take the pressure of starting. -
