  1. I'm dealing with this. Time to cope. I just can't believe we passed on Rosen, who will probably go to the Dolphins.
  2. Oh boy... all right folks, time to start deluding ourselves. Let's hope this guy overcomes all odds.
  3. AAAHHHHH!!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!! sorry... just needed to get that out of my system
  4. Since Thurm has latched onto Allen... you might be right
  5. FWIW, for everyone saying Lamar is too dumb to play QB in the NFL, Joel Klatt was just on the Herd and said Jackson has been fantastic at the whiteboard with teams in this presser draft process.
  6. I really and truly want to like Allen because I fear we might draft him so I'd like to resign myself to him sooner rather than later. I even decided to watch this 20+ minute interview of Jordan Palmer by Rich Eisen The problem is I come away even from this interview still wanting Darnold a lot more than him and even thinking Kyle Allen in a later round would be a significantly better option than trading up in the 1st round for Josh Allen.
  7. Hunh??? Mike Vick was 6`0, but literally the most athletic QB in NFL history with arguably one of the strongest arms in NFL history. Dan Orlovsky and Sean Mannion were tall, but weren't remotely athletic. Manziel was athletic, but tiny. Just stop. You must be dizzy.
  8. Even if we draft Allen, I'll get excited and get behind him fully eventually, even though I REALLY don't want him right now.
  9. Maybe the Bills asked him to do some smokescreening for them... the Bears did it last year https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bears-avoided-showing-interest-in-mitchell-trubisky-after-secret-on-campus-workout/ Bears avoided showing interest in Mitchell Trubisky after secret on-campus workout The Bears asked Trubisky not to inform other teams that they'd worked him out for 90 minutes
  10. Yes yes yes yes yes!!! Notice how incredibly "under the radar" Jackson is. I don't want to make any predictions, but seeing Allen fall to 20 something and Jackson go in the top 10 is very much what I believe should happen. I would too.
  11. Very nicely put together. I really think it's highly possible Allen freefalls. But my #1 hope is that Cleveland drafts him at #1 so I don't have to worry about Buffalo drafting him and it leaves all the other good prospects on the board.
  12. I share your feelings about Eli Manning. I've always thought he was vastly overrated... even with his 2 Super Bowl MVPs. However, despite sharing that opinion with you, I think Gettleman has a different one and really has no intention to draft a QB. I think he's a lot higher on Eli Manning than you or I are. And scooping up plenty of draft picks would help him to provide weapons and protection for that hopelessly immobile QB who's already proven twice he can play at a high level on the biggest stage.
  13. It's possible they could be in love with 2 or 3 non-QBs. Barkley, Chubb and Nelson are the 3 prospects who are being talked about as the best prospects in this draft. All 3 are positions of need for the Giants. They could easily realize they're going to get one of those 3 guys if they drop back to 5 or 6 and also get a bunch of other picks that are going to provide starters immediately to help the Giants and Eli Manning win now. Eli Manning hasn't signaled he wants to retire and while I've never been really high on him as a QB myself, him and the Giants sucking last year really wasn't because age is physically degrading him. He's 37, and 40 is the new 35 for QBs... at least that's the way I think Gettleman is viewing this QB decision.
  14. Love the breakdowns. Very thorough. As long as it's one of those top 4, not Allen, I'm happy
  15. Well, no one presented any convincing evidence. I was hoping for it, though. I'll still delude myself if we draft him, though
  16. The comparison to Wentz, to me, is sad and desperate hope simply because of the similar offense they ran... while utterly neglecting production or success. Simple FACT that can't be overlooked: Allen is being drafted purely because of his physical potential and almost entirely in spite of his actual production on the field. Those guys have been historically overdrafted time and time again. And they're historically massive busts. I don't wish it on Allen, especially if we (mistakenly) draft him. It's just what he's most likely to become.
  17. You should have just made the poll "yes" or "no," I voted 4-11, hope for 2, but definitely think we trade up.
  18. Jackson. If Allen makes it to 12, it'd be a deserved freefall. This talk about him being the #1 pick is just nuts. At the same time, I desperately hope he's taken #1 so I don't have to stress about us picking him. If we draft Lamar Jackson, we can just call him LJ.
  19. Have our picks for next year come out already? Last I checked, we don't know where we're picking next year. I highly doubt it's going to be a top 10 pick. Keep wallowing in mediocrity. Thankfully, I don't think Beane plans to.
  20. We basically have the same team as last year, minus Preston Brown, Eric Wood & Richie Incognito. I expect Groy and Bodine to be able to fill in just fine in Wood's and Incognito's absence. We need an MLB... maybe that guy is on the roster, but that's the only other position than QB we absolutely should draft on day 1 or day 2. All of our other positions are either the same or upgraded. We need a Franchise QB. It's been over 20 years since we've had one. The "too many holes" crowd must just be really young... or they have really bad memories. Get the QB... period. We'll still be a better team in 2018 and we'll go into the 2019 season with tons of CAP space to fill holes.
  21. This just feels obvious, to me. All of the things that have unfolded over the last year have been leading up to our 1st pick on Thursday. The plan just seems so overtly out there for all to see. Shaw's OP with doubts that we could get into the top 4 is something I'm really skeptical about, but it's possible we only trade up to 5 or 6... I still think we're trading up, almost inevitably. And yes, you need trade partners. But teams like the Colts and Giants, who might think they already have their QBs in place, are significantly more likely to be willing to deal picks, especially to a team like the Bills, who have 6 picks in the first 3 rounds. Peter Schrager on GMFB this morning proposed (seemingly based on what he's hearing) that the Bills would trade up to the #6 pick with the Colts by giving them 12, 22 and 56 and then get up to #2 by giving the Giants 2 and next year's 1st. I think we'll need to throw in another pick, at that point. But if we give the Giants the 6th, they'll still get Chubb, Nelson or Barkley... all considered arguably the best players in this draft and future Gold Jacket players, which the G-Men desperately want. Everything is in play...
  22. True... but I'm personally hoping to see Streater/Dupri/Reilly make the team and make an impact because of huge strides. I think that's just a little too steep a price, but I won't hate it if they do it. I think #53, #65 and all 3 of our 1sts would be fair. If we need to add another pick, do #53, #65 and #95. Keep that other 2nd round pick. That gets a little expensive at that point. But if your QB is there that you absolutely want, do it.
  23. Schrager said this morning that he basically makes his predictions based solely on having his ear to the ground and talking to league sources. Soon after he mentions that, he lays out a blueprint for Buffalo to trade up to #2 for Darnold. #12, #22 & #56 to the Colts THEN #6 & next year's 1st to the Giants. Personally, I think it'll take another pick, but looks like a solid blueprint. He then went on to talk about the relationship Beane already has with Ballard and Gettleman... making it almost sound like this is already in the works.
