  1. I love that it looks more and more like Dany dies. Her whole storyline always irritated me in the books when Martin left Westeros to her. And sorry, but she's just the least deserving of the Iron Throne among those still in the running to get it. Tyrion is smarter and much more the diplomat. Sansa has the nobility of her father she witnessed combined with the atrocities of her own experiences to bring her some ruthlessness, survival skills, and the ability to read and question people's motives. Arya is Arya.... a mothertruckin bad@$$!!! Jon Snow is absolutely everything, including the rightful heir, which is why he likely dies. Dany's an entitled snot... once you discard the whole being sold to Khal Drogos as a teenager by her brother... but things even worked out well for her there. Kill her off and let a Stark sit on the Iron Throne... it's been destined since the beginning of the very first book/episode.
  2. Interesting interview with multiple Qs and As, but here's the most relevant one: https://www.google.com/amp/s/theathletic.com/962885/2019/05/06/a-j-blum-qa-ed-olivers-longtime-coach-on-his-fit-with-buffalo-and-those-crazy-maturity-questions/%3famp The Bills have said they are going to make him a three-technique in their defense. How do you think he’ll transition to that? What are some of the challenges that come with that move? I think it’s going to be amazing. I had been telling Ed all along after the pro day, seeing the head coach and GM at his pro day, I was like, wow, this is the real deal. I went back and did some research and I had been telling Ed all along that from a scheme standpoint of every team that’s interested in you, Buffalo is probably the best fit. When we were in high school, I called 46 games with Ed playing three-technique or 2i, basically what he’s going to be playing in Buffalo. It’s going to be amazing. It just is. You can say all you want about him playing the zero-technique in the three down that we had at Houston, but he was very active. He stunted probably 70 percent of the time. I think the thing that’s going to be awesome is you’re not going to have to stunt him as much because he’s going to be on the outside shoulder or inside shoulder of that guard, and it’s going to allow him to really use his skills in a one-on-one situation. I’m sure he’ll get his fair share of double teams, but it will be a lot less than he got at Houston. I think it’s going to be amazing. I know he’s excited. I think it’s going to be really good. From a standpoint of what he needs to get better at, he is such a natural with his speed and explosiveness that a lot of times he defeats blocks by his get off, not so much side-stepping his blocker but by being a penetrator. When you’re a penetrator, you don’t necessarily have the use of great hand placement and block disengagement, but he’s going to be in situations, where that’s going to be one of the biggest things. Having worked with him for seven years, that’s going to be one of the biggest things he’ll have to refine as a skill, is just staying on that edge and being able to get off that block. People want to compare him to Aaron Donald, but he and Aaron Donald are two completely different players. Aaron Donald bench-pressed 550 pounds in college. That’s why he’s so good at getting off blocks. He gets that separation and he can still control and get off blocks. A guy like Ed, he’s punching a guy so fast and moving by him that he was able to get away with it. That’s going to be one of the biggest things that he’s going to have refine. Attack, lock out and then disengage. Just getting off those blocks. His feet are going to be great. His speed is going to be great. It’s just about controlling it and staying in that gap.
  3. And let's hope Zay is much better and Foster keeps improving. I think cutting Clay was ultimately addition by subtraction.
  4. These are NFL Wide Receivers. Aside from me asking if you watched that 5 minute youtube drop video and sincerely thought most of those passes were dropped because the ball was thrown too hard and lacked touch, I'd just say that they're friggin NFL Wide Receivers who should be able to catch a damn ball that they get their hands on. His completion percentage does need to improve, obviously, but it's more a product of the talent around him and decision making on his part than it is his actual accuracy.
  5. Geez... are these people like just watching last season or something???? First the PFF thread acknowledges Allen had the 2nd highest drop rate in the NFL... duuuuhhhh! Now this article arguing it in an actual article. Been arguing since the season ended that Allen's completion percentage was less a product of him than the talent surrounding him. I guess better late to the party than not showing up at all.
  6. Zay was one of the most sure handed college WRs coming out. Needless to say, he was NOT that in the NFL for his 1st year. Personally, I would ideally like to see Zay keep Beasley off the field as our 4th WR and have Brown and Foster as our #1 and #2 (In whichever order) and Jones in the slot. Beane has a lot of confidence in him... that much is undeniable.
  7. Of those 7 blowout losses, 2 were in Josh Allen's first 3 starts after a Summer rotating reps between Peterman and McCarron and 4 were with either Peterman or Anderson starting. The other was against the Patriots in New England. And it was a 12 point loss. The Jets and Dolphins have new Head Coaches and their 2nd year QBs will be learning a new system in their 2nd year. Allen will be running the exact same offensive system under the same coaches. Sure, the Patriots improved, but Brady's another year older and you could see him declining a bit last year, in spite of the Super Bowl win. I don't agree. Next year we take the division and get a home playoff game.
  8. It'd be great if he could live up to his potential, but also stay out of trouble the way Josh Gordon couldn't.
  9. This is great stuff!!! Clearly Oliver was the guy they were enamored with, but based on the "at that point (Jones pick) we knew we wouldn't trade down" comment, Beane and Co. clearly valued AT LEAST 3 of the remaining guys worthy or more than worthy of the 9th overall pick. Biggest thing I'm seeing is there was some legit effort to trade up into the 1st for Ford. Also, those guys like MMA.
  10. Pretty cool stuff. Any doubts about whether the Bills wanted Hockenson over Oliver here in any way are very obviously put to rest. Sorry if this has already been posted... tried searching and couldn't find it.
  11. I finally had the time to watch the episode so I turned down the lights and did it knowing it was going to be dark. I love this series and I loved this episode, but I do think the series is losing its bravado. The series peaked at the Red Wedding... but to be fair that was an extremely high bar it set for itself. All that said, I did love the episode even if it was a bit predictable and placating to mass appeal. Absolutely no one of real consequence died. And when I say real consequence at this point, I'm pretty much talking Lannister, Stark, or Danys... though I realize many will argue Ser Jorah would be one. And I actually think his death was the most significant because it showed me one thing: Danys is a B!+C#!!! I rewatched that scene a couple times and it's pretty clear that she pulled Jorah in front of her to shield herself from death. Stark contract from Jon at the end who was trying to fight the zombie dragon and ready for his death. Danys needs to die. Tyrion and Sansa win the game. That's my immediate reaction after watching the episode. Oh... and how the heck could anyone have thought Arya would die in this episode? Girl's a badass.
  12. Attaboy... maybe now you'll get it Not anything? Then why did Mueller explicitly state he couldn't exonerate him AND state that a large part of this report and process was for the sake of preserving evidence AND specifically bring up the impeachment process for congress?
  13. Completely agree, especially now that we've officially declined Shaq Lawson's 5th year option, not that this is much of a surprise.
  14. The report and that passage itself establishes Mueller didn't find criminal conspiracy. It says nothing about collusion. That report is such an indictment on Trump that if this were a few decades ago, we'd have begun the impeachment process already. But this is the whole point, isn't it? Trump and Faux News have brilliantly twisted the narrative around over the last couple years or so. So much so that no one really knows their position on anything. Trump really has one news station that spins a yarn so often of an alternative universe along with a bunch of feeble minded Republican Senators for being able to serve out the full 4 years he'll get. Doesn't matter to me though. So many atrocious precedents have been set by Republicans over the last 8 years... none of this is surprising. Just gotta endure just 19+ more months of Trump.
  15. So a stupid twitter argument by a couple of idiots is somehow substantive? Seriously? First of all, there's plenty of evidence, set forth by Mueller in his report, of collusion. But as he said in the report himself, he wasn't investigating collusion, he was investigating criminal conspiracy. And he couldn't "establish" criminal conspiracy--interesting wording in the context of a report that weaves a web of a campaign in contact with Russia at varying points and with knowledge that Russia's interference in the election would actually help Trump win. And that leaves aside the entirety of the evidence laid out in the report of obstruction of justice, which is readily apparent. Along with all the other ongoing investigations. But yeah... send me another twitter argument of 2 nobodies saying "look at the collusion!" / "only a conspiracy theorist could call this collusion"... might be slightly more substantive than a gif, but not much.
  16. 2016 was more about "I'm not Hillary" (and part of the greater Swamp) than it was about "I'm not Trump," right? I feel like even most of you here at PPP would agree with that. So Trump squeezed out an election because of one of a faulty candidate along with a little help from Russia and Wikileaks, lack of "established criminal conspiracy" notwithstanding... I'm genuinely curious... what gives you guys this confidence for a President who's had historically low approval ratings throughout his ENTIRE presidency? If your confidence stems from the lack of anything he's doing to protect our next election and an assumption that there will be more interference next time around, then unfortunately I almost understand that position. But unless something big happens Trump likely wouldn't win the next election against a competent candidate (Biden is competent... Bernie isn't) without major outside help just like he wouldn't have won in 2016. That election was pretty much the perfect confluence of events for him... which he may have played a big role in, even if it's not "established" as criminal.
  17. So what do you think a "reasonable deal" is? https://overthecap.com/position/edge-rusher/ According to that, Hughes is the 22nd highest paid "Edge Rusher" in the NFL. Murphy is 31st and will be paid less than the likes of unproven rookie "Edge Rushers" Nick Bosa and Clelin Farrel. I think you're nuts if Hughes accepts a deal like that. Michael Bennett is a couple years older than Hughes and he just signed a 2 year deal with the Patriots worth almost $17 million. The Jags signed Calais Campbell to a 4 year $60 million deal when he was Hughes' current age and they picked up his option this year. So tell me... what's reasonable for both the Bills AND for Hughes? It likely ain't a "Trent Murphy type of deal."
  18. Eh, you don't really need a true number one WR nowadays in the NFL, as long as the rest of your WRs are decent. With the addition of Brown and Beasly and Foster coming on strong in the 2nd half of the season last year, I think our WR group might end up being pretty good. Hopefully Jones gets better, too. Beane sure seems to have a good deal of confidence in him.
  19. As it stands DE is the only one we absolutely must take action on. WR & OL are really TBD based on what we see this year. I think our WR corps might be set going into the 2020 season.
  20. Shazam! was such a blast!!! Wife and I loved it! Of course, we also loved Chuck for the first couple seasons and will pretty much watch Big any time it's on TV, so we might be a bit biased
  21. Our top 4 WRs are set, plus we have one guy who’s going to be listed as a WR but is almost purely a return guy. So do we keep a 6th WR or do you legitimately think Sills pushes another one of our guys there off the roster? Zay is the only one I can see, but I don’t think Beane wants to let him go considering he already started talking potential upcoming contract he’s gonna need to negotiate with him in the next couple years.
