Nice post...if I could also add something it would be that Zay doesn’t play special teams either...so not being a starter and not playing ST doesn’t bode well for Mr. Jones.
It’s so funny to hear Murph on WGR saying the Bills need to draft a #1 WR to grow with JA...does he not realize that both Foster and Allen came into the league the same year, and are showing signs of developing into a dynamic duo? Poor Murph...
Fair enough...I guess it is just a preference thing- where I would much rather prefer Long in the swing guard role while we developed Teller a little more...and I just feel we weren’t able to do that last year due to circumstance...but he certainly has potential.
Honestly, Teller has not performed to a level where I would be worried losing him...in fact, if he were cut, it would actually make me feel better that the team felt they had an upgrade....imo the only reason he played last year is because the bills had no money to do any better- not because he was worthy of starting.
God forbid a starter goes down, I do not want to put my hopes and prayers for the season into a 2nd year 5th round pick...Teller is not what I would consider solid depth, and I think we can do better, but hey, maybe that’s just me...
After reading through this thread the answers I liked the best were “No”...a backup player does not deserve the fifth year option whether we have the cap space or not imo.
Metcalf just hasn’t shown me enough to give me confidence in his ability to be an nfl receiver... now, that’s not to say that he can’t- he very well may be able to...but I don’t like taking chances on guys that have not played the position before at a consistent level...throw in the injury history and it’s just too risky for my blood at #9.
