All Roads Lead to the Ukraine
Buffalo_Gal replied to Deranged Rhino's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Gotta start loading up the Ukraine thread (this could go in deep state too) ... Clinton Foundation Donor Funded Ukraine Report at Core of Charges Against Former Obama Counsel On April 15, former Obama White House counsel Greg Craig revealed the identity of the previously unknown man who funded the Ukraine report which is now at the center of federal charges against Craig. In a video statement, Craig said that Victor Pinchuk “helped fund” the 2012 report. Pinchuk is a Ukrainian businessman and a major donor to the Clinton Foundation. </snip> -

I wouldn't put it past someone to do just that and one filled with "the children" at that. -
Julian Assange taken into custody
Buffalo_Gal replied to TakeYouToTasker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I see there was a FISA warrant out on Manning, so the hop leads to Huma/Clinton/Weiner. Why were they surveilling Manning? And how did Manning know anything about the Weiner laptop Huma/Hillary emails? (this one seems to be the question in that thread) And what was the Manning lawsuit about exactly? And the US Government was surveilling Huma? Guess those Clinton emails weren't actually "lost". -

The family business is luxury brands (Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, etc... his business is Salma Hayek) pledged €100M toward reconstruction. The French billionaires in total have so far pledged €339M for reconstruction.

They were having difficulty securing funds for the renovations. I cannot imagine how much money a rebuilt would take.

Normal hours have Notre Dame closing at 6:45 pm. Going by your first post in this thread about the fire (the tweet timestamp) it would appear the fire started shortly after closing (6-hour time difference from eastern). My only question would be - it is holy week; aren't churches (or at least cathedrals) open 24/7 during holy week? I do not know the answer to this, I am merely asking.

It must be really miserable going through life looking for stuff to complain about. SMH

You ever been? There is more than Notre Dame in the area. What if that fire had spread? What if the building had collapsed spewing fire and hot debris? While there is a fair amount of clear area around the building, there are bushes, shrubs, and buildings close, not to mention the cars (and why my last photos were not that great). The news reports had police finally moving people away more than 30 minutes after the fire started. The early word was that there simply wasn't the correct equipment to reach the fire early enough to contain it, and then when the equipment moved in, it took quite some time to move into place. They did not move quickly enough (possibly unprepared?) to save Notre Dame. The issue with water from above was not necessarily the old building, but not knowing what current construction materials were on premises. Once that was known, yeah, water from above might have been helpful - providing it could have been dropped directly on the fire (not sure of wind, accuracy, etc). There are helicopters with bambi-buckets used in Europe. I am not certain of the logistics of using them in the Seine, and how accurately they could have deployed the water above the burning cathedral. Read this. It is interesting and informative.

Bernie's not in it to win it, he's in it for a fourth house and so he and his wife can skim off more "advertising" dollars from campaign donations. -

Ignore is your BFF, people. ?

Watching this live feed, it looks like the front of the church survived (they are starting to contain the fire, although you can still see it raging in the back and top). If it remains, I wonder if will be salvageable?
-
He's not wrong. The height is what is preventing this from being contained. There are fireboats on the Seine right now, and from the CNN reporting, they can't do anything as the flames are so high in the spire (which appears to have fueled the roof fires, and allowed it to spread).
-
I was wondering about that. The weight of the roofs coming down taking down the walls. Simply horrible. OMG they just said the flames are just behind the front windows. That means the inside is totally engulfed too (all the banners, seating, alters, organs would be fueling it).
-
I "think" there are timbers up there (trying to recall from years ago). Watching CNN-go the spire is totally engulfed. And, the flames seem to be getting bigger.

And now the live video:
