I’ve been searching for the answer to this also. I always hear Bill Maher, Fox personalities, etc. complaining about it. I went to NYC and Hoboken NJ recently and asked around. I walked by some of these progressive schools. Basically, whatever it is they’re complaining about only exists in extremely wealthy private schools in NYC and possibly LA. Schools where millionaire’s kids go. It’s not happening anywhere in the public school system. Well, there’s Arabs that live and move freely in Israel and then there’s Palestinians who are surrounded by a huge wall that runs right through their land. They have to pass through checkpoints to come and go. Two entirely different groups. Then there’s the African migrant workers that get treated horribly in Israel. Yeah, they’re not very nice over there. Then you have the illegal settlements which you’ve probably heard about.

Yeah, you pay into it. It comes out of your paycheck. They don’t take it out of yours?

I don’t think you fully understand the history and the issue itself. Most Americans don’t. There are quite a few great documentaries from both sides available for viewing.

Hey, I’d rather give money to people than pump trillions of dollars into the stock market to keep it artificially stable heading into an election. Trump did that.

The overall point I’m trying to make is that businesses got huge PPP loans, and are about to get more next week, and they took that money and improved their businesses, bought equipment, etc. and now the only thing missing is their low wage slaves. They aren’t coming back for less than 15/hr. That old business model is dead and should’ve never existed in the first place. The quicker people realize this, the better off they’ll be.

It was a GOP controlled Senate when that idea was floating around. Romney and a few others supported it. Retail, hospitality, teachers, nurses, etc. I never agreed with the term itself. I wanted everyone sent home in the early months.

Think about how bad essential workers got screwed. They were told they were getting up to 15k hero pay and Republicans stripped that from every bill before passage.

Adults took all of those jobs 20 years ago. I would set a minimum wage for adults and for kids. You want cheap labor? Hire a kid. That forces it back to the model you’re describing. Don’t get me started. I think it should be illegal.

Now, I would tell unemployed people that they’ll receive the rest of their enhanced UI in a lump sum if they take a job right now, if that’s what the goal is. Problem is, that’s not what it’s about. R Governors in red states want to steal that money and use it for other things like tax cuts, etc.

The end date for enhanced UI was set perfectly. By august, the majority of the nation will be vaccinated. That was the plan. Now, Corporations and lobbyists wants their slaves back 2 months early. Why? The majority of these folks are women with children. The schools just opened back up. Now, we should cut their benefits early to force them back out there before everyone’s vaccinated? The Chamber of Commerce just launched a multi-million dollar campaign designed to shame the unemployed for not taking low wage jobs.
