Analysis of Emmanual Sanders Film (Athletic, Joe B)
Logic replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Diggs IS an excellent deep threat. So is Davis. If you look at Sanders’ tape from the last couple years, you see him doing a lot of the underneath stuff that we often had Diggs doing this year — comebacks, outs, finding soft spots in zones in the short and intermediate areas of the field. My hope in adding Sanders is that he takes a portion of that stuff off of Diggs’ plate, freeing him up to be the lethal deep threat that we already know he is capable of being. Diggs is one of the best deep threats in the game. Davis’ YPC also show that he is a high quality deep threat. I’d like to see the Bills add another speedy WR in the draft, but it’s important to acknowledge that they ALREADY have two great deep threats. Hopefully, Sanders’ presence unlocks the ability for them to be used as such more frequently and more effectively. -
Bills-Pats 2011. I was there. It was awesome. Fred getting caught from behind and tackled on the one yard line was the best thing that could have happened. Once the final whistle blew, the stadium was insane. I stayed for as long as possible, yelling until I lost my voice. I went down to field level and asked a security guard if they’d rip up a little piece of the field grass for me to save. One guy told the other “don’t! You could get in big trouble”. The other dude shrugged, pulled up a piece of grass and gave it to me. I’ll never forget how the stadium sounded during Drayton Florence’s pick six.

I am 100% in favor of the "QB needy teams" rule. I've seen SEVERAL mock drafts over the past few years here go sideways because someone picking for a team that would obviously be taking a QB decided to throw a wrench into the works just for fun and selected something unrealistic instead. As for the committee instead of the board picking for the Bills...not sure whether that would go over well or not. I'm not really sure how much enjoyment the board does or does not derive from having an active role in that pick. Generally speaking, I'm in favor of anything you decide to do to make it smoother/easier on yourself and make it run smoothly. p.s. I live on the west coast, so it often happens that by my first visit to TSW of the day, I've missed out on a lot of the fun due to the time difference. If you could save me one spot in the 2.0 draft for any ol' team, I'd be much obliged. And as always, my offer to help in any way I can still stands.

Welp, that does it. Dicaprio Bootle is my favorite name in this year’s draft. I thought it was Racey McMath (stupid autocorrect) , but nope. Bootle wins it.

There are several mid to late round WRs that have either great straight line speed or great quickness/agility, or in some bases both. Anthony Schwartz Marquez Stevenson Jaelon Dardon Dwayne Eskridge Ihmir Smith-Marsette Simi Fehoko Dazz Newsome I hope the Bills find a way to draft 1-2 of them. Most of them lack route-running nuance and/or can't be counted on to be successful as classic outside receivers right off the bat. Luckily, we don't need them to. They can come in as gadget guys and return specialists and then learn the finer points of the position from our great corps of veteran WRs.

Rondale Moore.....trade down and snag this monster.
Logic replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one has yet mentioned this: Rondale Moore is 5’7”, not 5’9” as previously reported. There is only one WR in the NFL that is 5’7”, Jakeem Grant. I’m out on Moore. -
NFL Films and John Facenda are 100% why I am such a big fan of football. As a kid, stumbling upon those NFL Films’ team yearbook programs on ESPN... The slow motion, the music, the poetic narration, the voice. They made these guys seem like modern day gladiators. They made it seem like football was the most important, exciting, dramatic thing in the world. Nothing ever did more to allow football to overtake baseball as America’s pastime, in my opinion, than NFL Films.

I feel like I’ve said this 100 times in 100 different threads, but this Bills defense has shown that it CAN check top tier tight ends when healthy. In 2020, they were bad at defending TEs. No doubt about it. In 2019, when Milano and Edmunds were healthy all year, the Bills gave up the third fewest yards to TEs of any team in the league. I feel the “Bills defense can’t defend tight ends” narrative is way overblown. Yes, they were bad at it last year. Prior to that, it was consistently a strength of our defense.

This thread really illustrates what elite songwriters Lennon/McCartney were. In my opinion, the output of good, catchy, memorable, timeless, high quality music they put out in just six years will never, ever be matched. The word "prolific" barely does them justice. P.S. For a minute I thought to myself "I'd like to see a 'better than Bob Dylan'" post, too....but then I realized that that would just be ALL of the Bob Dylan covers. All of the Bob Dylan covers are better than when Bob does them. 😆

I also signed up in April of 2020 and just finally got an e-mail saying my mask is ready to ship.😆 I'd rather they just donate it to whoever might still be in need, as my house is not lacking for masks these days.

Here's a two-pack of "better than the Beatles" versions by one of my all time favorite singers, Richie Havens:

I think there would be a fan mutiny... That said, UNC coach Roy Williams picked a hell of a day to announce his retirement...

Bills opening stadium discussions with NYS and Erie County
Logic replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once again: I already said where I want it. Follow the “build it on the site of the current stadium parking lot, and turn the current stadium site into the new parking lot” model, if possible. -
Because there’s no need to fix what isn’t broken. Football is the greatest game in the world, and I don’t see any reason to change the length of the season. Fans were not and are not clamoring for this change — it’s all coming from the owners. “They’ll make more money” and “because people will watch the extra game!” aren’t good enough reasons to me. “More” does not necessarily equal “better”. During the 43 years that the NFL has had a 16 game regular season, it has grown into a massive money-making juggernaut. It’s ALREADY the most popular and lucrative sports league in the world. Moving to 17 and, before long, to 18 games risks further injury, watered down rosters by season’s end, and jeopardizing the health of the players over the course of their careers. I’m all for taking away a preseason game or two, but elongating the regular season is not something I support, and nothing will change my mind on that. Goodell and the owners ought to read the story of Icarus.

Adams officially signed with Buffalo, per Twitter. Cue extended “we’ll never beat the Chiefs” cry sessions. -

If they're going to build a new stadium, I hope it stays in Orchard Park. I can't remember which team's new stadium it was (Pittsburgh? Houston?), but they just built it on what used to be the parking lot of the old stadium, and turned the site of the old stadium into the new parking lot. I'm all for whatever it takes to keep the Bills in Buffalo long term, but game days sure would lose a lot of their charm and what makes them special if the stadium left Orchard Park for downtown Buffalo. Having been to away games in city centers, I can say that the Bills game day experience is much, much, MUCH more fun and unique and special. Keep the Bills in Orchard Park.- 304 replies
