I think we can feel pretty confident at this point in the offseason that Hart's not getting big money OR a guaranteed roster spot. It won't surprise me if, when all is said and done, it's revealed that Hart signed for veteran minimum or close to it.

We need all 90 players we bring to camp to have at least one Pro Bowl on their resume or we'll NEVER beat the Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Bills hosting LB Tyrell Adams on visit (update - Signed)

Oh yeah. Great name. Now if he went by Ty Adams, it would be a pass for me. -
Thanks. It came down to Holland and Rondale Moore. I liked Moore more (that's a mouthful) when he was 5'9". Not so much now that we know he's 5'7". There is only one active receiver in the NFL that is 5'7", and incidentally, he's a Miami Dolphin. So the Phins already have a 5'7" slot receiver/returner in Jakeem Grant, and they already have a deep threat in Will Fuller. Rondale Moore felt a bit redundant. There should be good pass catchers left in round 3 that might round out the Miami WR corps a little bit better. Holland at 50 feels like stealing, but that's the type of thing that 2020 COVID opt-outs are going to foster this year.

With the 50th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins select S Jevon Holland, Oregon While we have invested heavily in our cornerback room with Howard, Jones, and Igbinoghene, we felt that an upgrade at safety was of crucial importance. 2020 starters Bobby McCain and Eric Rowe are nothing more than replacement level journeymen. Having to face the Bills' potent passing offense and the Patriots' new two-TE set twice a year each, upgrading the middle of our secondary is a priority. In safety Jevon Holland, head coach Brian Flores gets a smart, versatile, ball-hawking chess piece for his secondary. The Oregon standout recorded 9 interceptions in his two seasons at Oregon before opting out in 2020. Wide receiver was considered here, but the depth of that position allows us to feel confident that we can find a contributor there in the third round. @whatdrought and the Washington Whatchamacallits are now on the clock.

Outstanding pick for the Cardinals, but now the Dolphins (who wanted Dickerson to replace the not at all impressive Matt Skura/Michael Dieter combo) have to recalibrate.

Spot on. Prior to this signing, we were looking at the unproven Ryan Bates competing against that dude who told scouts he wished his **** was bigger for swing tackle duties. Some people could really benefit from a little perspective. [Mod Edit: the story about Trey Adams and the leaked Combine interview where he had an ....unusual and off-color answer to the question "“if you could change anything about yourself, what would it be?” Yeah, this really happened 🤷♂️]

Bengals fans should worry about their own historically putrid o-line before laughing at anyone else. Gotta love the people on here complaining about bringing in a 26-year-old 46 game starter on likely a vet minimum deal to compete to be a BACKUP. Teams bring 90 players to camp, folks. They can’t ALL be Pro Bowlers. 🙄

There is no need to trade the Bills’ Passing success for running success. They can be good at both. It’s not an either/or proposition. Suppose the Bills ran exactly as many running plays in 2021 as they did in 2020, but each of them goes for a couple yards more because they’re better at running the football. That’s what we’re talking about achieving here: Not running it more often, but running more effectively.

With the 36th pick in the TSW Mock Draft, the Miami Dolphins nearly injury themselves by running so fast to the podium to select RB Najee Harris, Alabama. I don't need to say much. Best running back on our board, huge position of need, best player available. Doubt anyone would bat an eye if the Dolphins took Harris at 18, but instead they wait and still get him at pick 36. With Penei Sewell, Gregory Rousseau, and now Najee Harris in the fold, The Dolphins feel we have significantly improved our team, and we still have a pick left later in this round. @Rock-A-Bye Beasley and the Philadelphia Howie Rosemans are now on the clock.

Thanks for the response. As the article points out, even DOUBLING the amount of 12 personnel they ran last year would STILL have them running 10 and 11 personnel a lot more than the average NFL team. The stats below compare 2020 to what 2021 would look like if they ran twice as much 12 personnel. 2020: - 10-personnel: 15% (2nd most in NFL) - 11-personnel: 71% (6th most in NFL) - 12-personnel: 8% (2nd least in NFL) 2021 (projected): - 10-personnel: 12% (still 2nd most in NFL) - 11-personnel: 67% (would be 9th most n NFL) - 12-personnel: 15% (5% below NFL average) As you can see, they'd still be running the second most 4-wideout sets in the league. They'd still be top ten in 3-wideout sets, too. And also, as the article points out, the increased 12 personnel usage wouldn't have to mean they were sacrificing pass game productivity. They could still be quite effective passing out of 12 by running it well and then using play action, as they did in 2020.

Yeah. DJ Chark, Marvin Jones, Leviska Shenault, and Kadarius Toney, with James Robinson in the backfield....the Jags should/would be looking at an instant offensive revival. Add in K'lavon Chaisson and Josh Allen off the edges and CJ Henderson in the secondary on defense and you have the makings of a really talented young squad.
-
As someone who actively roots against Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski -- The Bucs getting Jaelen Phillips at 30 would piss me off.
-
Imagine what a creative offensive mind could do with Leviska Shenault and Kadarius Toney in the same offense? Whew.

TSW Mock Draft Bills Selection Poll - Round 1, Pick 30
Logic replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Just to add the quote: -
Joe Buscaglia’s latest mock draft has Meinerz as the Bills’ third round pick. Matthew Fairburn has OL Ben Cleveland as the third round pick. Not sure how likely it is that either guy is still on the board at that point, but if so, either one seems like a slam dunk pick.

Being able to run the ball effectively is important. Even the most explosive, consistently great passing offenses sometimes get stifled. When this happens, it’s necessary to run the ball. Furthermore, running the ball effectively is a great way to attack the Chiefs’ defense. Look no further than this year’s Super Bowl. The Bucs running backs combined for 150 yards rushing, and that potency and offensive versatility was key in controlling the flow of the game. Given that beating the Chiefs will likely be key to advancing to the Super Bowl, and given that our own head coach and GM have BOTH mentioned wanting to improve the run game, I would suggest that doing so will, in fact be a priority this season — and rightfully so.

https://www.radio.com/wgr550/sports/bills/is-more-12-personnel-key-to-unlocking-bills-running-game?utm_campaign=sharebutton&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_term=WGRAM “One schematic change the Bills may be looking to make, that could be a key to unlocking a more efficient running game, is running more “12-personnel.” In football lingo, the first number is the number of running backs on the field on a given play. The second is the number of tight ends. Since there are five eligible receivers on every play (not counting the quarterback), that leaves two wide receivers still on the field, as well. So 12-personnel means one running back, two tight ends, two wide receivers. According to SharpFootballStats, the Bills ran this personnel grouping the second-least of any team in the NFL last season, on only 8% of their plays, behind only the New England Patriots at 2%. However, as Erik Turner of Cover-1 breaks down, when they went to it, they were not only more successful running the ball (4.9 yards per-attempt), they still maintained their incredible high-efficiency in the passing game, at or near the top of the league in both yards per-attempt and touchdown percentage. Turner points out that it’s not only running 12-personnel that the Bills could benefit from, it’s running play-action passes specifically from that personnel grouping that could really maximize their efficiency.”

TSW Mock Draft Bills Selection Poll - Round 1, Pick 30
Logic replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I second this motion. JOK is my pick. If I must choose from the list above, I'll say Jaelan Phillips. -
1. It shows no care whatsoever for player safety or the quality of the games. As it is, by week 17 of the NFL season, many teams are the walking wounded and bear no resemblance to the team that began the season. 2. It makes 43 years worth of statistical records useless. 3. There is no evidence that fans actually WANT an extra week of football. Indeed, some polls that have been taken showed that fans were AGAINST expanding the season. 4. There are plenty of ways to continue to increase revenue other than trying to fix what ain't broke with regard to the schedule length. 5. The NFL would become the only major pro sport to have an odd number of games instead of an even number of games. 6. The NFL is the greatest sport there is. It's massively popular and rakes in billions of dollars. Why does the league continually insist on tinkering with it, when it's already the most popular sport in the country just the way it is? -- I'm all for getting rid of 1 or 2 preseason games. I don't like expanding the regular season. I don't see the need for it, and I worry that the NFL will just go on adjusting and tinkering with things in perpetuity with a league that doesn't really seem to need the alterations. I'm concerned that the NFL's never-ending greed will eventually mean the downfall of the game that we all love so much. They just don't seem to know when to leave well enough alone.
