The rivalry is still young. The Bills come so close every time to beating the Chiefs that the odds are they’re going to win at least one of them.

I still feel like the trade worked out in the end. The problem is McD just isn’t in the same league as Andy Reid.

Definitely early. However, that trade could end up as the bane of his coaching existence. Imagine having a QB the caliber of Allen, with one roadblock in the way virtually every year - and you helped put it there !

Manning did beat Brady in the playoffs sometimes and has two rings. A better comparison would be Jordon/Ewing.

Nah, it’s still kind of early for all  that. Manning was in what, his 9th season when he notched his first AFCCG win vs NE ? His other SB win was very late in his career, though he did defeat NE again en route.

Allen would have a SB if it wasn’t for Mahomes. Maybe even 2. This really is the Brady/Manning allover again.

More than likely. Some bad luck involved , but never trade with an in-Conference team that’s QB shopping. At least when you don’t have one of your own.

These kind of posts crack me up.  All the people that say NO, I'm not watching...yet post on an NFL team message board.  Gimme a break, of course we're all watching.  We are football fans.

Yes, a message board for our NFL team. I have no desire to watch 4 hours of blather about players I dislike - Mahomes, Kelce, the swifts etc etc. Last year it was two teams I hated so I caught the last few minutes of the 4th quarter just to see the score ( and the atrocious penalty at the end). I do kind of like SF, so maybe a little more of the 4th this time. If SF wins I’ll enjoy watching the postgame festivities. No need to watch programming that isn’t entertaining just because it’s the NFL.

I’m pounding the table for an actual coaching search of any kind. But the reality is no top coordinator would work under McD’s thumb.

The reality is a top coordinator becomes a HC. The “ innovative” systems that actually led to SB wins are decades old.

The Lions are she only team I am ok winning a SB before the Bills out of all the teams who have not won it yet. That fan base deserves good things, and the only way I wouldn’t root for them is if they were playing us.

    …after that? 49ers, Ravens, Chiefs.

Yep. They’re an older franchise than Buffalo and have had very little success over the decades. Definitely have a bit of a soft spot for them.

  7. There no way to quantify “ best”. Bills mafia is and should be in the running for the title though. Every fan base has knuckleheads and trolls. Some of those trolling Bass may not be actual Bills fans at all. Can’t let a few heathens give a fan base a bad name.

  8. It’s simple : they didn’t beat the team in front of them that was required to make a AFCCG /Super Bowl. That’s it. You only have to be better than your opponent on that day, but you only get that single day to do it. Simple , but not easy. Sometimes it’s matchups, others it’s finding a way to make one or two more plays than the other guy. Your regular season earns you a chance, but you only get one.

  9. Nope. All this super analysis is ridiculous too. Wasn’t the issue last year supposedly being too aggressive vs the Bengals ? Now it was being too conservative… lol. This game was decided ( not surprisingly given these two teams) on the final Bills possession. It was really quite obvious if you paid attention.  I’m not sure what Brady was thinking here , with a predictable Cook run up the middle for one yard ( a wasted play) Then two shots to the end zone , which would have left plenty of time for KC to win the game with little to no time remaining. Even if Bass connected for the tie, does anyone doubt defeat was just around the corner?  They needed to continue what they had done offensively all night long. Chew up clock and get first downs, keeping Mahomes on the bench. The Bills D couldn’t stop KC - as their 9+ yds per play allowed showed. The Bills downfield attempts only resulted in drops of quality passes by Allen. A more aggressive scheme would surely have resulted in a Chiefs blowout of Buffalo, as the defense was a shell of itself. The game plan was just right, until those final plays of the last possession .They almost pulled it off if not for these few plays. The injuries had a huge impact, but in the end the Bills had a perfect scenario as time ran down. They simply botched it -completely on their own.

The gameplan was such (Long drives minimal possessions) that it demanded near perfect execution. Those early 2 drives to get 3 points Allen had to overcome drops, fumbles, penalties etc. Yet they kept pounding. But once KC came out after half and in 3 min went ahead, then we answered, then they did again, I knew it was over. This Bills team throughout the year never demonstrated they could play mistake free. I don’t think you can ask Josh to play mistake free either as it removes his playing advantage. They came damn close though. I feel for the players more than anything because they fought consistently this year. But bad game plans and poor execution was a constant battle this year.

That gameplan was really the only chance they had. Did you see how wide open Kelce was ? They couldn’t match up worth a damn on defense and they knew it. Offense needed to play keep away with long methodical drives and have the ball at the end. Bills had the perfect set up at the end , just completely misplayed it.

Hadn't really thought about this - but every time the Chiefs have beaten us in the playoffs, they lost the following week.

    This trend will likely continue.
