Yeah thats what would hsve been smart. Dont cut him make him a backup and hope he does something. What wasnt smart was creating a sham of qb vomps over and over again and not doing everything possible to get a real qb in here. That why were in year 17. The lack of awareness of the importance of a knowing when to jold them, when to fold them as it pertains to qbs t for the Bills. We held alot pair of 2s and raised when we should have folded. -
✔@hsimon62 friendly reminder, you can hear the Terry Pegula press conference live on @WGR550 at 10:00

Rotoworld ranks Whaley as worst GM in NFL
Bill_with_it replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was no plan to sit EJ in order for him to learn. Doug Whaley and Marrone are on record prior to the season speaking abou the two qbs competing and hoping that Manuel wind it. Dont let a post season press conference tell you any different. The truth about the QB battle: The competition is still ongoing. Despite Manuel's mastery of the two-minute drill in the preseason opener -- the rook even called his own play when the headset went out -- and Kevin Kolb's knee injury, Manuel hasn't been named the starter yet. Competition is king. But in talking with key members of the Bills organization, the sense you get is that they'd all love for Manuel to grab the job with two hands and never let go. That would allow the rebuilding to start off right. "Absolutely, it helps if he becomes the starter and becomes successful; there's no doubt about it," Whaley told me. "When you draft a guy in the first round to be a quarterback, he's going to be the face of your organization, the face of your franchise. And as he goes, we go. And that's part of what we're trying to instill. Let's be aggressive, let's go with it -- if he wins the job." That will be the biggest decision yet in Marrone's young tenure: making the call between Manuel and Kolb. As Whaley says, the best-case scenario is that Kolb continues to throw as well as he did in practice on Tuesday, so that however the race plays out, you don't feel there's a huge drop-off when the backup comes in. But ultimately, the ideal situation is that Manuel's stellar play continues and it's a no-brainer. If not, Marrone told me, there will come a time when he simply must make a decision. "That's what we do, as coaches, general managers, scouts," Marrone said. "The time's going to come, if we have to do it, 10-12 days prior to the first game -

Sure.He isnt off the hook for doubling down on EJ and fighting with his HCs about it on the practice field. -
I pick Williams hands down. He can snag the balls out of the sky when hes covered. 6'4 218 pounds. One of the best draftees to track and snag the balls out of the air. Isnt afraid to take a hit in the middle of the field for a catch. Needs a little work on route running but the kids catch radius is ridiculous. His size once coached up will play a big part in run blocking something this organizationis going to need from a wr.

What?Who was the GM in April 2013? Nix. When did Whaley become GM? May 16, 2013. Care to explain waht is preconceived? (adjective formed before having the evidence for its truth or usefulness.) Isnt it a fact that during Buddy's tenure the GM duties entailed responsibility for the roster? -

Kouandjio to LT experiment.

Yeah, I certainly hope our HC puts a terrible rt that is mentally disturbed to protect the qbs blindside of my favorite team. Somehow I dont think Ill have to worry much about that. Just hope the kid can get some help and move on with his life. -
Phase 2 of Voluntary Workouts
Bill_with_it replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sammy didnt make it to the football field. How is he supposed to drop a ball when he isnt even practicing? Hes still in rehab with that injury. -
Man I remember just last week all the posters saying he was surefire lt material, to move Glenn to rt so a lesser player can take his spot. Those guys were genius film watchers. Wonder how that would have worked out. Wonder how Glenn would have felt. I just hope he gets some help he needs. Clearly hes not cutout for the NFL life. There is a reason a second round draftee at a dire position of need wasnt a starter. Sometimes just sometimes might be better to side with a coaching staff.

Yikes: That sure screams left tackle material to me. There is a reason a second round draftee isnt a starter in a position of dire need. -

Rotoworld ranks Whaley as worst GM in NFL

Not only is he not good enough, he's clearly in over his head. All the small things he manages to blunder upon lead me to believe on those blunders alone he cant manage the largescale stage of GM. -

No im not talking about how many games anyone has played. The statement was made that availability come second, thats simply not true at any position in the NFL. If it was true players wouldnt play through injuries such as broken legs, broken arms, torn labrums, and the likes. -

Can you not read? Where did I state anything about a year. Also do you know what all things considered means. Im pretty sure I said send out Sammy on the Falcons for 8 games and play Julio for 16. I mean they are both talented right. You and others are screaming from a mountain top that talent is the only thing we ahould consider when the bills extend him. It should be easy for you to say youd take a sammy for 8 games rather than a julio for 16 even if they are playing on the same team. -

Hey put a broken sammy on the falcons team. Sammy plays 8 games julio plays 16 whos worth more to the team? So your telling me availability isnt the most important aspect of a player? You him and anyone else that think anything other than a players availability ( all things considered) is not the number one most important thing regarding a player are all wrong. -

Blind leading blind continue to be wrong. Availability of a player is the number one thing. If the number one player at a position is only on the field for 8 games it doesnt matter if he puts up 100 yards a game he isnt healping your team those last 8 games. Hes actually hirting your team because a) he isnt on the field, b) your number two is now your number three etc, c) your offense has now changed because your number one wr isnt on the field and your number 2 cant doe what your number one could have done, d) you have to replace (costs cap space) your number three with another receiver because he is now your number 2. Availability is everything. -

Ok, your stick is about as ridiculous as your posts. You stated that availability to play every week isnt the number one factor for a players value. You stated that. In what tupid world is that true. Certainly not in the NFL. Im done with your limited knowledge. Sammy watkins cant rie JJ cleats or wash OBJ in any matter on any day its that simple. I can find a player whos put up a streak of excellent numbers as did Sammy did for that brief period of time, it however doesnt place that player in an elite status. How hard is that for tou ro understand? The kid isnt elite. Lacks toughness. Has a nad attitude that shows frequently on the field. If he was a lock his option would be picked up.AVAILABILTY IS EVERYTHING! -

Anyone who doubted Winstons abilities as a qb well they probably dont know what a franchise qb looks like. College success doesn't always project to the NFL level, however, if tou are running a true pro style offense and running it with these ease that Winston did against the teams that Winston did in the fashion that Winston did, youd be hard pressed not ro fine success in the NFL. -

Literraly zero of what you said is true. Availability to perform for your teqm is the only thing. Quit acting as if Sammy Watkins is better than JJ and any other elite wr. He simply isnt his production doesnt say it unless as you have define a small portion of his oft injured career stats. But thats not how it works, you know that, every GM knows it. If it were true Sammys option would be picked up right now. -

Cmon man you and others are placing him in the elite category. That category is julio and obj level. Has he produced to that level? Not. Even. Close. Therefore the injuries and his availability have hled him back trmendously.
