  1. Define great player. And if you put guys like Dareus or Sammy in there. Define exactly how they are great.
  2. Define vast majority. Because I can name a number of HOF QBs that weren't.
  3. Has any successful organization ever gotten to that point without having a process they followed?
  4. Anyone with a single functioning neuron in their brain could have imagined that. The guy has a concussion.
  5. You would have to be really convinced his shoulder is OK before even thinking about this. And given he's had a year to rehab and is seeking treatment in Europe is concerning to say the least.
  6. As one who had to watch the decade of losses to the Fish in the 70's I have to say how disappointing it is to see so many pseudoFish fans on a Bills message board.
  7. Ragland plays OK in a 3-4. Last game he had 1 tackle and two assists. BFD. He did not play well in preseason and we traded him. Again BFD.
  8. Yeah. And the way Dareus was playing he wasn't the best talent. And neither was Ragland in camp.
  9. You don't think the GM shopped him around? It is quite possible a sixth is the best offer they got. say they take your scenario and bench him. How does that increase his value?
  10. And stunk there by and large. anyone remember the game where Brian Cox walked out into a blizzard and just about wet himself? Game was over before either team took the field.
  11. Ok take the money out of it if you want. The great players don't need motivation. They work hard to be the best and to continue to get better. Saw it in high school on my teams and it exists regardless of level of play. Dareus had a rep for not giving it everything, and you aren't going to get much for that. And you may not like to talkabout money but you cannot have your top paid individual half assing it and not have it affect the team. You need to get his butt out, because despite several different coaching staffs he did not show he was dedicated to his craft. Last week on the NFL pregame Kurt Warner talked about his time with the Rams. He said what turned it around was getting rid of the malcontents. The next year they won the whole thing. It's great to think there was some gigantic market out there for him, or that keeping him would have not affected the team. But that does not appear to be the case.
  12. I am sorry but when you are the highest paid player in the team and supposedly an All Pro talent, you should be leading and not being dependent on a coach to reach you. did guys like Rice, Montana, or any truly great player have to have a coach reach them? Did they show up late to games? Spare me how Dareus' issues are somehow a coaching failure.
  13. Rogers and Brady are each in a class of their own, and Brady is in a class above Rogers. If that is the standard then we will likely never get a suitable QB for some.
  14. Go read the recent si article on Cousins. He's all about process. He and McD would be a perfect fit.
  15. Indybillsfan here. Just changed my user name
  16. We'll see. The things I read are that the players are worried about higher injury rates with the Thursday night games.
  17. I think the player's union will come out strong against Thursday night games.
  18. Because the players and coaches hate it and the quality of play is generally inferior
  19. The Fish will walk out of the tunnel into the wind and snow and totally decompensate. Especially Cutler.
  20. The money and greed was why I listed that before injury risk as a factor affecting the league. Mark Cuban said greed would ruin the NFL and he may have a point. You're already seeing on line sites wanting to stream games. If the average fan who wants to turn on CBS or NBC is told they have to pay to watch, it will be interesting to see how many say forget it. Plus the league is increasingly worried about in stadium attendance. Not to mention the falloff in quality of play with Thursday night games and such. Factors such as these will begin to affect advertising revenues if the league doesn't recognize the potential harm.
