  1. So thanks for the nudge reminder on this, hadn’t seen it in forever and I was surprised that my wife had never seen it. We have the same sense of humor, but she was a bit skeptical going in… We both laughed our asses off the entire time haha! So damn funny.
  2. Ah yes, the classic Montreal vs. Las Vegas playoff matchup. Go Habs Go!
  3. Man, Cowart could have been so good for so long if it wasn’t for his injuries. Dude was a beast.
  4. Gimme that Habs/Isles finals. Late 70’s/Early 80’s vibes.
  5. You’re really gonna argue against the fact that Sheifel traveled roughly 180 feet to make that hit? It wasn’t a violent check as a “result of distance traveled”? Come on man. No point arguing anymore, credit the Habs for letting the league handle it and staying on task. Go Habs Go.
  6. According to NHL Rule 42, a charging penalty: Shall be imposed on a player who skates, jumps into or charges an opponent in any manner. Charging shall mean the actions of a player who, as a result of distance traveled, shall violently check an opponent in any manner. A "charge" may be the result of a check into the boards, into the goal frame or in open ice. There it is bolded, in black and white. Doesn’t make a lick of difference that he didn’t pump his skates the last 12 feet. Doesn’t make a lick of difference that Evans was trying to score. Doesn’t make a lick of difference that where it occurred on the ice. Doesn’t make a lick of difference that Wychek threw that ball forward 20-something years ago. Case. Closed. Go Habs Go.
  7. It was a total go-to for the ol’ gravity bong days ha!!
  8. Raphael is the best of the bunch.
  9. It was a charge by definition. I thought 4 games was a bit harsh. But here we are. Go Habs Go. /thread
  10. Good pull, can’t believe I forgot this one on my list!
  11. They are playing incredible team defense in front of him. He’s certainly been outstanding on his own, no question, but the guys in front of him are keeping the paint clear, keeping things to the outside, limiting turnovers and blocking shots. That’s what I meant in a previous post re: “playoff hockey clinic”. Forecheck, backcheck, paycheck!!
  12. Back To The Future Gremlins Teen Wolf Christmas Story
  13. I left out Strange Brew from my list. I had it taped off of HBO when I was a kid but had like 4 minutes missing bc my dad came home, didn’t realize it was recording and started flipping stations. But I gotta say that 4 minutes was an amazing 80’s cable time capsule…Braves game on TBS, the Adelphia Cable public access channel (time/date/public announcements) and then stopped on Benny Hill, ha!
  14. Can probably quote through Caddyshack start to finish without watching it. Star Wars OG Trilogy Goodfellas Groundhog Day Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs Die Hard The Burbs KITH Brain Candy Those are just off the top of my head…
  15. Montreal putting on a playoff hockey clinic.
  16. Habs taking a 2-0 series lead back to Montreal, love it. Carey Price in a goaltending duel, love it. Not getting silly over the hit at the end of game one, love it.
  17. Who exactly was he deking all alone back there?? I would agree the intent is debatable. It’s two guys making separate hustle plays. One was legit and the other was charging.
  18. This was neither a “joust” nor a “dangle”. I love the Don Cherry Rock-Em Sock-em 80’s/90’s style as much as any other old-school fan but that isn’t what the league is anymore. The onus has been on the defender/hitter for a long time now and it’s his responsibility to keep it clean. “Shoulda had his head up” is no longer a valid excuse. One point I can agree with in here is the inconsistency of the NHL with how they enforce/punish such plays. I think they got this one correct.
  19. “Glided” with a full head of steam from sprinting before opposite blue line to the slot. This is the kind of play the NHL wants out of the game, especially with the relative recent emphasis on concussions. But then they’ll contradict the whole narrative by still allowing fighting. So... I wish they would go to European size ice. Open it up and watch headshots and fighting naturally work their way out of the sport. These guys are faster and stronger than they were even 20 years ago, give them more room to work with.
  20. What makes it illegal and deliberate is skating full speed 3/4 the length of the ice to hit someone without slowing down. I believe anything more than two strides before a check is kinda the rule of thumb. It was a scumbag play, and that’s not even taking into consideration that he went high on the hit.
