Opening night!!!! I am really excited for this season. I actually plan to watch every game I can. That’s the first time I’ve said that before a season in at least a couple/few years now. I used to always watch every game, every interview, etc. but all the losing just killed my interest. Now I’m back to being excited My only real concern is goaltending. I’m not 100% sold on Clifton and EJ but I do feel better knowing they at least addressed the defense. Goaltending feels like a huge gamble to me. Honestly, I still can’t believe we are entering the season with a 21yr old rookie set to be their #1 with no real backup plan outside of the 2 guys that already failed last season (and neither were even able to lock down a backup role this preseason, which doesn’t make me feel too good about either of them at the moment). Don’t get me wrong, I am hopeful Levi is up to the task. But it’s hard not to be worried about the plan, especially when there’s so few 21yr old goalies that have stepped into starting roles in the NHL right from college and even fewer that have done well. We obviously all hope Levi is different and up to the challenge but it sure would’ve been nice to have a legit backup plan.

With all of the turnover on the business side of the Bills and Sabres, it’s hard not to feel like the Pegulas are difficult to work for/please. I’d be curious to see how the turnover compares to other NFL teams. edit - can’t blame this one on Pegula. A boss can’t be sleeping with employees…

I think if he continues to play like he did in the preseason he won’t leave much choice but to stay in Buffalo.

Fair deal! That’s about what I expected on an 8 year deal, and with the cap set to significantly rise soon, this deal will look better and better as time goes on. Im just glad they locked him in for max term (8yrs). There were a lot of rumors about 4 or 5 year deals at an AAV of $10.5M (ish). Now that would have been an unfavorable deal for the Sabres. I would have felt like Dahlin was trying to do what Auston Matthews did to Toronto and squeeze every penny he could out of the team, taking short term, high AAV deals.

I usually watch every Bills game. But Knowing how much the Bills always seem to struggle against the jaguars I decided to sleep in today and set the DVR to record the game. I didn’t even bother turning the game on when I woke up. I read a quick recap and decided to get on with my Sunday. Looks like I made the right choice! lol

This whole episode with him is sad. It can be very difficult to get someone help who doesn’t want it or think they need it. I hope he decides to get the help he needs.

I know his comments weren’t anything big. I was just having some fun (or so I thought).

Same here. I hadn’t heard edwards call a game in years and my first thought was “did he have a stroke?” so I googled it and found the same thin you did. Now you all can see why I was so hyped on draft night when he fell to #13! are fans still worried about his size? 😉 lol yeah, he’s going to be a good one. (edit - I get why his size was a concern. I wasn’t mocking anyone for that, just to be clear)

He was also offered 2 different remedies to the situation and refused. Also: leas than 1/2 of NFL teams even offer alumni suites.

So far I think they look like a McDermott defense again. This is similar to what his defense played like in Carolina and his first couple seasons in Buffalo. I felt like maybe Frazier took more control of the defense the last few years and so far it appears that might have been the case. Time will tell though. The real test will be the playoffs I think.

Yeah, not a fan of the game plan/play calling so far. Hopefully Dorsey adjusts and/or finds his groove. They are playing a very good defense though. At least the Bills Defense is playing excellent so far!
