  1. Nice straw man.

When your post is a single question that you don't bother to elaborate on or answer on your own, you open yourself up to straw men arguments. But feel free to actually explain your point instead of posing weird questions that imply other bizarre points.

  2. Hasn't it been well-established that Settle doesn't game plan on a per opponent basis as much as other teams?

I, uh, don't even know how to respond to this. If you want to make the case that Seattle is winging it every week and didn't know the key to our offense was our run game, I'll let you own that argument.

  3. IMO After week 8 of each season, this was the game plan for opponents. Stop the run game and you stop the Bills offense.

I assure you teams had that game plan against us every single week. In any case Seattle and Miami came after week 8. I am sure the game plan against Tyrod in those games was no different than what the other teams were doing, but he played exceptionally well and that was without all his weapons on the field. It definitely was not that simple.

  4. Those folks in Baltimore sure do love Tyrod.

Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams explained after the game what Baltimore wanted to do against the former member of their team.

The game plan was to make him a quarterback, Williams said, via NewYorkUpstate.com. Sometimes he got out of there, but not too many times.

    13-7

I guarantee you every team we played had the same plan. That line sounds good after the Baltimore game because we looked awful. You won't hear any Dolphins or Seahawks players come out and say that was the game plan because he sure looked like a QB in those games.

The issue with Tyrod isn't that he can't play like a QB, it's that he's inconsistent. The question moving forward isn't whether or not he can develop new skills, but whether he can more consistently deliver with the skills that he does have. There are many many many QBs in the NFL that could NEVER look as good against Seattle as Tyrod did. Focusing on just the Baltimore game is disingenuous, or any one game for that matter. It is more than reasonable to believe that Tyrod could play more like he did in his good games as he gains more experience. Or who knows, maybe he goes the way of Matt Schaub and regresses horribly. I don't see anyone saying for sure except a few people on your side. I just look at the games as they are, see that Tyrod had some very very good games, and think that if he develops more consistency we could have something special on our hands.

  5. Huge protests in Russia today, opposition leader is arrested.

Anti-corruption campaign against the gangsters that run the country. Too bad Hillary isn't President she could help with moral support and publicity. Will Trump and Tillerson weigh in on this? Probably not

And what would Hillary be doing about Saudi Arabia's atrocities? I suppose she'd just stop accepting their money... LOL

Give it up, both candidates were bad and Americans lose again. Don't let the Russia stuff distract you. We were screwed no matter what.

  6. Tyrod Taylor is not in the discussion with quarterbacks like Stafford and Flacco. Flacco isn't great but he is good and delivered in the playoffs. Stafford regularly wins games in the 4th quarter.

Stanford "regularly" wins games in the 4th quarter? As of 2012 (could not find updated stats) he had a less than 50% career win percentage in 4th quarter comeback scenarios:

    http://www.footballnation.net/content/captain-comeback-career-records-the-clutch-for-active-qbs/16571/

I'm sure it's gotten better but in 2012 Aaron Rodgers had a career 4th quarter comeback win percentage of 14.3%. Maybe this isn't the best measurement.

Oh and Flacco played well in the playoffs but he had to actually get there first. How do you know what Tyrod looks like in the playoffs? I would love to find out. Hopefully we get our defense back on track and we will see. Flacco has had awful years, like this past season he had the #1 overall defense in yards and missed the playoffs even though he's in a mediocre at best division. I mean if every team followed your QB philosophy there would be about 20 QBs drafted in the 1st round every year. It isn't feasible.

  7. Both of those QB's have hit close to those heights before in their careers. It's not like Matt Ryan was just scraping by as a starter for 6 years. Palmer had a couple down years in Oakland but also had some great years in Cincy.

I think there's a point of diminishing returns.

Sure but then you have to acknowledge Tyrod had a very good season in 2015. If he can be that efficient again we can win a Super Bowl with a top 5 defense - an no not just any QB can win a Super Bowl with a top 5 defense. You need a baseline somewhere in between Tyrod's 2015 and 2016.

There's a whole class of QBs that everyone forgets in these discussions. It's the Matt Staffords and Joe Flaccos of the world. Those QBs rise and fall. Some seasons they aren't good enough, other seasons they are in the top 10. For all we know Tyrod would play like a superstar in the playoffs. You have to acknowledge that possibility. It isn't like Tyrod has shown nothing. He has clearly shown potential. I don't even need him to get better than he was in 2015. If he can throw 50% more passes with about the same efficiency, that's very solid QB play. It doesn't mean we have to stop searching for a consistent top 10 guy or whatever.

  8. He's been in the NFL for 6 years dude. Realistically, what do you give his chances of getting better?

Matt Ryan just played his best season ever. Carson Palmer had a career resurgence in Arizona. It's just wrong that every QB hits their ceiling at a certain age. He has only started 2 years. I personally believe he can improve, especially since his faults are correctable like reading a defense or leaving the pocket too early. Definitely willing to give him a chance. There have been way crazier things that happened in the NFL.

  9.

this is cute ryan, really cute.

so lets just say TT turns it around. oh, I know, you're so convinced and have these magic powers to see in to the future and certain he fails. but lets just say he does. will you support him as the starter or will you remain constant with your obvious agenda?

He's part of that cult that refuses to accept they could be wrong this year. I've never seen people say Tyrod is a sure thing, just that he's earned a chance to stay on the team and hopefully grow. But I've seen a few say he has no chance of ever getting better and they'd rather we lose every game. Funny enough people in the 2nd group call people in the 1st group cultists.

  10.

I'm actually starting to worry that the either Saints or Cardinals might trade ahead of the Bills and pick Mahomes (if the Bills were wanting to take Mahomes at #10).

At that point it wasn't meant to be and move on to plan B, hope Cardale makes dramatic progress, and watch the college QBs in the coming season with great interest.

I wouldn't mind plan B being trading back in the first till you get a 1st rd pick in 2018 which looks like it might be a great QB class.

If a team trades up to take a QB before our pick I will be elated. I hope many QBs get taken before us although I'm guessing no more than one actually will be.

  11. I'm not hiding behind any pc culture you assmudgeon. It's a horrible thing to want to ensure that who comes into this country is not coming in here to do us harm? Little children aren't coming here by themselves unless they are rushing the southern border on invite from the former president. Listen, it's hard enough to assimilate Muslims into our western culture let alone allowing Muslims wanting sharia law to take up residence here.

Do you support extreme background checks on all gun buyers? I don't, because I'm not a hypocrite. You're afraid of children, but not afraid of guns. Your argument isn't new, certain people have always wanted to make the world less free by using fear to their advantage. We live in a chaotic world where bad things will happen no matter what. If you sacrifice your principles out of fear you have given up on the American dream.

  12. I happen to be realistic and not a pc kind of person. I am for extreme vetting of anyone coming to the USA that comes from or has traveled to a country that is unsettled or known to harbor terrorists.

Yeah this is the new trend, take any dumb horrible opinion you have and when people call you out hide behind "pc culture." You're a coward. You're scared of little children running away from danger. Next you watch a zombie movie, pay attention to the human bad guy, that's you.

  13. No, you claimed that whoever you were directing your comment to thinks a Muslim and a terrorist are the same thing. Guess what? We know that the vast majority of Muslims are not terrorists, but the vast majority of terrorists are Muslim. Dispute that.

I'm genuinely curious, would you support an immigration policy that exclusively banned men from the listed countries but allowed women and children? It's not the women and children committing these attacks, let's be honest. So if you're gonna use the statistical argument, I feel like you should only be banning men.

  14.

Honest question, how do you stop it?

There is a major difference between what is happening in places such as Nigeria (terrorist attack yesterday) which is organized terror and lone wolf attacks from terrorist sympathizers.

Also, how do you pinpoint a would be attacker? This guy was British born as opposed to someone who came in as a refugee or immigrant.

This is the crux of the issue. I see many similarities between this and the gun control debate. People want control over everything. A bunch of people get killed and someone or something has to be to blame... so we have to crack down on guns, or on immigration, or whatever it is. The world is much safer today than it ever was in history. Violent deaths happen at a lower rate than ever before. So I personally think humanity will keep that up without resorting to extreme measures. I believe we can live in a free society without submitting to our fears.

  15. By no means a MD fan but that was MADDENING. You pay the guy 100 mil. And then put him in a position a lot of overeatin men can play. It required Brute strength and not much technical ability. I thought sure we were going to draft that NT out of Baylor and kick Dareus outside

Completely agree. I wanted Alabama DT Jarran Reed last year, thought he could play that role, shut down runs up the middle for us. It makes no sense to have Dareus do that. Dareus had ten sacks in 2014. So Rex has him plug the runs. God even thinking about it now makes me mad, I still can't believe that's how he used Dareus.
