Pro Football HOF 2018 Class Announced
SouthNYfan replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lewis Moss Owens Bruce Edge/kramer -
Landry would be a major wide receiver upgrade talent wise. Williams addressed the issue with his retirement, said he has no ill will towards Landry, and that he grew up loving those hits, and it would be hypocritical to hold a grudge against him for that hit. Was that him just taking the high road? Maybe. I remember when it happened, and Landry directly apologized during the game and publicly. (This is all just me bringing up things regarding the situation) Having said all that, I'm sure there are many Buffalo fans who will never forgive Landry, which is understandable. There's also many who will complain about it, but forgive if he produces good numbers. There's also many who probably feel like Williams, it was an unnecessary hit, but not something they hold a grudge over. However, if this was the only knock on Landry, then I'm sure MCD might give him a look. Unfortunately he's a diva, potential locker room personality issue, who comes with potential bad blood with the fans and players. That's not what MCD seems to be about, and I would bet they don't even give him a call.

What did you learn from the Smith Trade?
SouthNYfan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't done the math on this, nor the research, but I think it would be interesting to see what the top5 -10 QB salaries are year to year over time as a % relation to the cap, which changes yearly as well. Signing a guy for $15mil a year when it's about 20% of your cap is a bigger risk than giving a guy $20mil when it's $15% of the cap (Numbers made up, just for an example) In reference to the bold, I'd like to see if it's a sharper upward QB salary curve vs the total cap increase (I think it is, just guessing though) -
Andrew Luck to Bills speculation/chatter

Brees' surgeon called him a miracle and said he never expected him to return to 100%. Brees also didn't play an entire year with a torn labrum, continuing to shred it and turn it into spaghetti. Pre-injury Luck was amazing. If he returns to even 85% he's a bonafide franchise QB. I would love him. I'm just not sure Indy jettisons him if he's even 70%. -

*I assume you meant "forum" and not "form"* He may not personally be a moron, I stated that he was a moron in regards to his assessment of Andrew Luck, which I still feel is true. Feel free to disagree with that, doesn't change my stance on it. -

My grammatical error/typo aside, (yes I should have proofread) why should I be careful? (Serious question by the way) I stand by my statement regarding his stance on Andrew Luck. -

You mean the time luck tore cartridge in multiple ribs in week 3 against the Titans, in which he won the game, missed 3 weeks, then tried to play through it for 4 more games before being shutdown for the season due to the injury, after receiving painkiller injections before and during each game, games which they lost to: -the eventual 12-4 Patriots and Brady -the eventual 15-1 Panthers and cam during his mvp and Superbowl season -the 7-9 saints with Brees during a 3 game hot streak of them scoring 31, 27, 52 points All of which were 1 score loses Then he beat the broncos, you know, who went 12-4 and won the Superbowl, before he was shutdown for the season from a kidney laceration he received during a hit that game. Your a moron when it comes to Andrew Luck. -

I think he was well on his way there until the shoulder injury, which as it stands, is a complete unknown. He stepped into the NFL and performed at an elite level from year one. The fact that you act like he's been hot garbage is completely confusing. -

I'm starting to see that. Look, I know I'm pretty opinionated, and at times more adamant than I should be with my assessment of things, but Jesus Christ... This guy seems like he's an agent who Andrew Luck fired and now has a vendetta. I wonder if it's a girl that Andrew Luck wouldn't go to the junior prom with?? -

Where are you getting 8 years? He has been in the league for 4 full seasons, one half season, and one missed season. He was drafted in 2012. Manning barely had any years left in the tank when he left them, and his neck was a complete question mark. He played 3 great seasons with Denver, then his neck was done for by the last one. Worst division in the history of football? I guess he didn't beat anybody but his division. Division wasn't good, but to call them the worst in the history of football is absurd. 2012 the Texans were 12-4 2013 Luck beat both the broncos and Seahawks (you know, the legion of boom Superbowl champs that year) where he led them to 34 and 39 points against those teams. 2014 the Texans were 9-7, hardly "worst division ever" territory, and he went to the AFC championship game Your bias against luck is obvious. The fact that you don't think he was one of the top5 QBs in the game before his injury removes all credibility you have in regards to him. -

Yeah I'm a PT I deal with sports injuries daily I'm very wary of Luck I'm very wary of our medical staff and their history of player evaluation I'm also completely tired of not "going big or going home" in regards to our QB situation Really I've come to the point where I'm throwing my hands up and saying "what the f*ck ? Let's get Luck" If it goes poorly I would be sad, but less upset than if we didn't swing for the fences and stayed Pat at QB. -

Yeah Bree's surgeon was quoted as saying his recovery to even throw a football again, let alone be elite, was nothing short of a miracle. He has played 3 full seasons at 11-5 record each, went 10-12 over 1.5 seasons playing through injuries, including a full season last year with the torn labrum. He's still holding 43-27 career record, while averaging 4300 yards, 32td and 16int over a 16 game season INCLUDING averaging in the injured years. You can say all you want that luck might not recover, that you are fearful of the injury history, that's all valid. You're completely clueless if you think he was anywhere near a bust pre injury. -

Except Brady and Ryan were in the Superbowl last year, Brady again this year, with $20+ mil salaries. Peyton was over $20 with Denver. So yeah. Yep This. -

2018 cap hits for QBs. Andrew Luck $24,400,000 Russell Wilson $23,786,764 Ben Roethlisberger $23,200,000 Eli Manning $22,200,000 Tom Brady $22,000,000 Philip Rivers $22,000,000 Matt Ryan $21,650,000 Cam Newton $21,500,000 I guess somebody should tell the pats, falcons, Steelers, and Panthers that you shouldn't spend over $20mil on your franchise QB Same goes to the Seahawks, chargers, and Giants Yeah I know you were I accidentally deleted the part where I agreed with you 100% -

I'm not sold on him because I'm not sure what they'd want in return, or what shape his arm might be in (nobody knows either yet) Pre-injury? Dude was completely legit elite. Best QB situation in the NFL pre-injury when factoring in his age at the time, since they looked to be set for a decade+. Now? Huge question marks surrounding his arm. As I said, worth a look, see what they'd want in return, but the opportunity vs cost might be favorable. -
In-Depth Breakdown of Lamar Jackson by Eliot Crist
SouthNYfan replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Which brings into credibility all of his statements regarding Jackson. No way anybody has actually watched him (and not just read some stuff) thinks he's anything other than fast. 4.4-4.5 seems fair for him at the combine -

Exactly. It's an insult that he even mentioned pre-injury luck in the same sentence as Blake the fake -

Tent dilfer and Brad Johnson won Superbowls. By your logic they topped out higher than guys like Dan Marino and Jim Kelly. I'm not hailing luck as a savior, and I'm not okay with sending this farm to Indy to get him. I'm saying your statement of him and bortles being equivalent since they both "made it to AFC championship and lost to NE" (paraphrase) is absurd. Especially since you are referring to pre-injury luck. -

Except we didn't trade the farm for bledsoe. We gave up what would be the 16th pick the following year. The pats traded him because Brady just won a Superbowl, and they couldn't justify going back to drew, even though he had a couple years left in the tank. He was 30 when they traded him. He had 3 years with Buffalo. Two were good (including a pro bowl trip) One was meh. He wanted to retire in Buffalo. He was pissed when they released him so that JP Losman could be the starter. There was no giving up the farm. One mid first round pick was nothing. He had another solid year in Dallas, then was benched the following year after 6 games for Romo. Moving on, luck would probably cost the farm. He's a huge risk, and as stated, no way Indy dumps him unless he's really not healthy. The bledsoe situation was very unique, as was the Brees situation. The luck one is pretty cut and dry though. They'll want the farm, and it's buyer beware. -
Why not make a play for AJ McCarron?
SouthNYfan replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would sign aj mccarron so he can share his vast knowledge with my rookie QB... Then tell my rookie "see what he's doing there? Do the exact opposite" -

I agree. I think if luck is available they don't think he'll recover. What? Bledsoe tore a pec muscle, and had plenty of solid years after NE. He was benched and traded because of Brady. Unless you are just saying it's another drew
