  1. On to probably the easiest one to write which is good seeing it is the most important position on the field. So as a formality to make sure I hit all Position Groups we are On to QB. I think I will do the OL next. The standard disclaimer. I use SPOTRAC for my salary information, I know more like OTC, so numbers might be a little different I just prefer SPOTRAC more. I also use profootball reference for the stats. So here we go… Bills CAP Space: Top 51 = -1.330M Yep Still negative. Quarterback – 1 player on contact taking up 7.78% of CAP, 20th highest in the NFL. Free Agents UFA Mitchell Trubisky – 27 years old, Cap hit in 2021 – 2.5M – Before I start the writeup on him which will be minimum actually I will say if I can get him back right around the same Cap hit of 2.5 – 3.0M AAV I would be all over that, though this signing would be likely after the draft and He didn’t get a contract in the first stages of UFA. Not much in terms of numbers, but that is what I want to see from the BU QB, low meaningful numbers but he did take the Victory Formation Snaps well when he was in for those. I personally thinks he comes back looking at the UFA list of his tier QBs, and the possible movements of Starting QBs to other teams. On Contract Josh Allen, age 26, 7.78%% of cap, 16.372MM cap hit (No Savings) – Even though I said there is no savings, there could be a couple Mil (2.4M roughly with a simple restructure), with that said I would not do it (Next year is the first real year to do that with, very similar to Mahome’s contract). His numbers Highest in his career in attempts at 646, with a 63.3% completion %. 4407 yards, 36 passing TDs and 15 Picks and a 92.2 rating. 26 sacks (tied last year for lowest in career). Added another 763 yards running and 6 TDs. 8 fumbles (lowest in his career). So, all those numbers are very good for him, and I think this shows that 2020 is not a fluke and we can sit there and be happy to know we have our franchise QB for the next Decade plus. I could write on and on about Josh with the accolades, but I wanted to focus on what he still needs to improve. Zone play I think still can be improved on; I think there was some issues that popped up with the number of Cover-2 shells he saw. That area is still an area I think he needs to improve but did a much better job this year at taking what the Defense gives him. Finally, as he mentioned in his end of year learning how to slide a bit more. This is all great that our QB is self-aware enough to know where he still needs work and I fully expect him to put the work again this offseason with Palmer to get there. One thing I will also say when it comes to the weapons on the Bills I would fully hope Beane and Dorsey and Company come to Josh to just get his thoughts, not that Josh is making the decision but I would hope they would seek his input. Notable UFAs – This list is actually quit long, there are a lot of veteran QBs, that will fit in the range of pay that I would give a BU (in the 3M max pre year range). I will list those that I think will be a good teacher and BU. Brandon Allen, age 29, Cincy Ryan Fitzpatrick, age 39, Washington Andy Dalton, age 34, Chicago I am not addressing the BU QB until after the Draft IMO. Let the UFA stupid season do its thing, get to the draft (ideally find the BU there) and worst case if you need to grab a Veteran after the draft there will be a lot of them there sitting in the range that should be spent on a BU QB at this point. I possibly COULD see the Bills going a bit higher here on a 1-year deal, but ideally, we start those BUs being on rookie contracts when the real money kicks in with Josh. Notable Draft Picks 4th round Carson Strong, 6’3”, 226, Nevada – Had a chance to impress at Senior Bowl and move up in the rankings, but struggled at the Senior Bowl likely cementing him here and as a BU in the NFL. Aqeel Glass, 6’3” 228, Alabama A&M – Big QB with powerful arm and can run, think a poor mans Allen. Would not have to change the offense at all if he had to come into the game one he gets integrated in the offense we run. 5th Round Chris Oladuokun 6’2” 240, South Dakota State – Has the athletic ability that has really failed to flash in the smaller school all-star games, however can move and has a live arm, What I would do: I am not re-signing Trubisky before the draft unless I get him in the number of 2-3M AAV. I am also not touching any QB in UFA unless we are talking in that number range (I personally wouldn’t sign any) but maybe could get that deal with a Fitz were you sign him to a couple Mil but he only counts against the cap as a league minimum. That veteran exemption thing that the NFL has but teams really have not used that often (at least the Bills). But I am going into the draft with only ONE QB on the roster and I will look for the BU in the draft sometime after the 3rd round. If I cannot get one that fits the grade post draft I am brining on one of these many Veterans that will still be looking for work to back up Josh in 2022. Past Writeups: Defensive Line Linebacker Secondary
  2. Yep but I do want to see what Kromer can do with Ford. I don’t think he makes the final 53. But I also don’t think he gets cut before camp because I think they are going to want to see what Kromer can do with him. unless of course Kromer comes in and says move on immediately there is nothing I can do with this player, then like the doesn’t make it to camp.
  3. If he reduces his hit to 5M I would be fine with that, and I will write to that when I do the OL writeup. I think Feliciano is Traded to NYG as soon as possible. likely brings a late round pick, but that is the trade that likely happens immediately. Daboll there, Schoen there, Bobby Johnson loves him, will come in and help teach the scheme and would be a good contract for them post trade
  4. Right now they Dont. Zimmer and Phillips are NOT on the roster. The Reality is Phillps coming back is vital to protect on the Star Cut (it will come early imo as a designated June 1 cut), as soon as Phillips is Signed. Then the Reality is my 1st round TGT is not a DT it is a CB, but if you dont have a starting 1 Tech on the roster come draft time you will have to address that position early.
  5. I am signing Harrison Back. I am willing to bring Zimmer back as well on a Minimum Deal. So I am not sure what the argument is actually.
  6. Some of the YAC is on the QB as well, along with the type of routes we run. If I take Chase and have him running outs and curls how much YAC does he get. But I have seen our WRs and RBs multiple times take a 3 yard pass or a Pop Pass and gain 20. And I can get a Starting OG and a BU Tackles it isnt that bad. I still am not paying 9M cap to Williams. He has to take a pay cut or leave IMO
  7. Morse isn’t retiring. Actually I see an extension for Morse (who was our second Best overall lineman last season). the concussions is the only concern with say a 5 year extension. I could see a 2 year extension that looks like a 5 year though. Except it does happen with the Bills. I can go point to a lot of them. A short pass with 16-17 yards in YAC.
  8. And a 6M savings. So yes they can afford that dead cap
  9. He is an over paid and below AVG RG yes. His play as RT in a contract year in 2020 was good. Allen hid a lot of that. But end of the day Williams can stay as a BU if he takes the paycut. If not he gone. 4M cap hit is fine for Williams not almost 10M who had to move positions because he lost that RT job to a raw rookie.
  10. They have him 2 gapping as a MIke. Instincts and attacking are mitigated because of the responsibility of 2 gaps in your Run fits. The Scheme and the responsibilities placed on him hurt those instincts. bills players have said as much as well. when he was out the Defense Changed with Klein as he played the traditional MIke Role read and react. end of the day Edmunds isn’t going anywhere and will get a good extension that pays him based on his value to the Bills. is he Bobby Wagner at this point? Nope he isn’t. And he won’t be paid in that level either.
  11. Pro football Reference has the Picks, Sacks PD and TFLs. Basic math = 12 plays.
  12. I didn’t know that. About the in line and thanks for the tip. I also understand where Zimmer played. That isn’t what he is. He played 1Tech because guess what Bills don’t have 1Techs outside of Star on their starting 53. I get it. Zimmer a good story from a small school. A fan tav. And completely Replaceable if his “demands” go above a minimum contract. Star is gone.
  13. He is a top 15 LBer. That is the reality. Again used YOUR definition no trying to caveat it because the answer you got didn’t fit your narrative.
  14. So you are GOOD with a 9M cap hit below AVG backup. you should care about the cap seeing the Bills have to and are currently NEGATIVE space
  15. 12 impact plays by YOUR DEFINITION of what an impact play is. see I let you define what impact plays are and then gave you the numbers that are in your definition to prevent against this gaslighting right here. Time to find a different Hill.
  16. Yep I have and do see the same when trying to Watch John Miller with no Kromer. Not saying he will be able to fix him. And Ford is on outside looking in for the 53. But will get to camp.
  17. I get it. But running it back with the same people would accomplish what? Williams needs a paycut or GONE. He isn’t a RT he is barely a RT. when you are negative Cap those are the moves that need to be made
  18. Your metic and why I asked it first. Just to watch the pivot again. now back on your crusade which you clearly have an agenda no matter what is presented to you.
  19. Ahhh the benefits of Josh Allen masking a bad OL. How many WRs or RBs take 3 yard passes to the house?
  20. So now that you defined game changing plays you can look them up. but he has made 12. That is almost one per game. Of your definition. So want to keep digging here. Not to mention 2 ProBowls in 4 years.
  21. Let’s see. more money and less grueling in Broadcasting. Yeah if he is good at it move on. If he isn’t try it for a couple years and come back to coaching
  22. Except he does. What do you consider fake changing plays. You know who else didn’t Milano but he can do no wrong playing the easiest LBer position their is to play in a Will. what is funny is Edmunds is a two gap MIke (not many if any do that). He actually has more responsibility in this defense than Keuchley did in Carolina.
  23. Williams paid in the 4M a year range is fine with his level of play. So if he takes that paycut that is his best way of staying in Buffalo. I still bring in a rookie there are a lot of good interior OL. finally who knows what Kromer can do with Ford. He was the only OL coach to ever get anything from John Miller
  24. Who? Feliciano or Williams? Feliciano I am fine with Bates replacing him. Williams I can find a rookie or a cheaper RG. personally move Williams to Carolina in a trade. Feliciano (Bobby Johnson loves him) to Giants in a trade.
  25. Paycut to a RG or Gone. I am not paying RT money for a below average RG.
