  1. actually, "ocean's eleven" (the new one) was a remake of "ocean's 11" (the original) which starred the rat pack, wasn't about them. the new one was, i thought, a really good movie if taken by itself and not compared to the original. the fact that they demolished the original's ending and went "hollywood" was typical of today's films. the original's ending was one of the best and most clever and comical endings of all time. i'm not gonna spoil it so if you haven't seen it, you gotta go rent it.
  2. you're right. i wasn't really trying to compare drafts though. i was thinking about how the jets took full advantage of their fortunate position and my thoughts kinda evolved into what the Bills did that year. just miserable no matter how ya slice it.
  3. true....but now compare him to travares tillman.
  4. good reason why the combine should NEVER be used to "discover" players. it should only be used as a tool to verify what you think you already know. if they don't think a guy is a 1st rounder before the combine (from watching him play actual games) then they shouldn't think he is after the combine, regardless of how many bench presses he can do or 40 times he can surpass!
  5. Watching the NYJ/SD game. I was reminded of the 2000 NFL Draft. That was the year that the Bills took Erik Flowers with the 26th overall pick. That year, Bill Parcell's and the Jets had FOUR 1st rounders. What a gold mine. It's one thing to have four 1st rounders going into the draft ....it's quite another to use those picks wisely. We drafted Flowers for christs sake. here's what they did with those picks...... #12 - Shaun Ellis DE/Tennessee #13 - John Abraham DE/So. Carolina #18 - Chad Pennington QB/Marshall #27 - Anthony Becht TE/West Virginia looking back now that was an incredible set of picks. every one have been good if not great players for them. all are and have been starters for years. What the hell did our team see in in erik "f*cking" flowers????!!!! Just to drive that spoon into your heart a little more, these guys were waiting patiently when Buffalo picked...... Becht Rob Morris ILB Brigham Young Keith Bullock OLB Syracuse Darren Howard DE Kansas State Mike Brown SS Nebraska Ian Gold OLB Michigan Jerry Porter WR West Virginia Adrian Klemm OT Hawaii Todd Wade OT Mississippi Deon Grant FS Tennessee To make matters worse, after Grant was taken by Carolina with #57, The Bills took "future phenom" Traveras Tillman S Georgia. (Car. traded one spot ahead of Buffalo to steal Grant away from us....great move on their part). Still available at that point.... Brad Meester C No. Iowa Bobby Williams OG Arkansas Laveranues Coles WR Florida State Darrell Jackson WR Florida Ben Kelly CB Colorado OK I'm stopping, this is too depressing. It gets worse after we took Corey Moore in the 3rd but if your as masochistic as I am you can do your own research. 2000 NFL Draft
  6. i could understand her feeling that way. i'm sure that they put in A LOT of work to get this done. i'm know it's nice to get some praise when it is due. anyone ever work as part of a team at work to get a difficult task accomplished, and when it's done the higher ups praise some dink who hardly contributed but happens to play golf with them on occasion? it SUCKS!
  7. thank you. all others take a back seat.
  8. i wanted this to happen so badly when they were reorganizing the league. it was so nearsighted of RW to fight to keep the afc east intact. in a couple years we would have forgot all about miami and games vs pitt and clev would have been bigger than any miami game. unfotunately there's no way they make anymore changes for at least 10-20 years. that being said...not sure i'd wnat to be in with pitts burg for the next coupld years. looks like cower knows exactly what mularkey and clements is all about and lebeau has gray's number pegged. to win like that with backups proves that to me.
  9. it's a joke that you are making comparisons between bledsoe and marino. marino may not have won a SB but he got his team there and consistently made the playoffs, even at the very end of his career. he did it with ABSOLUTELY NO semblence of a running game at any point during his career. one thing i know about all the fans of the QBs you are trying to compare to bledsoe....they were SOOOO PROUD of their QB. while that may not necessarily add up to wins....it gave their fans SOMETHING! drew doesn't win, he doesn't make us proud, he doesn't show any passion for the game, he doesn't give our team cap relief, he doesn't make anyone better. hell, he can't even make a fantasy roster. just what exactly does DB bring to the game at this point in his career that NO ONE else could bring (looking for positives)?
  10. it does suck, but now i gotta hear friggin COMMERCIALS that bluntly state how much our qb sucks in big games?????? yeah...it irks me!
  11. i...love.... beaten up on philly... makin drew look silly (as pittsburg sacks drew bledsoe).... thanks drew, just as the national perception about the bills WAS becoming positive!!!
  12. for this game this might be a little risky. wait until 5 minutes after kickoff. you'll get $10 tickets. will miss the opening kickoff but end up watching pretty much the whole game for 10 bucks.
  13. At the end of last season I made the decision that going into TDs fourth year, I had no reason to lower my expectations for this team from my expectations from the 2003 squad (GWs last year). Going into that season I felt that 9-7 and a run for a playoff spot was the minimum that the Bills should achieve. That is the same goal that I thought the Bills should be able to achieve this year even with all the coaching changes. I felt that the players were in place in GWs last year and that it was poor coaching that led to thier downfall. With a good coaching hire, I had no reason to lower my expectations just because they were new. Well...the Bills have achieved that goal and may quite possible exceed it this weekend if things go the way we all want them to. In my book, this has been a successful season regardless what happens this weekend (even if we lose against Pitt). My question is, does any of you think that anything more needs to happen to allow you to consider this a successful season? Do we need to win Sunday? Do we need to make the playoffs? Do we need to win a playoff game? Regardless of what happens this weekend, I will be ecstatic going into next year. Of course, I may be ecstatic after this weekend but I won't be too upset if they don't make it. The WAY they will have achieved thier winning record, bodes well for the future.
  14. wow, i have Anchorman in the #1 spot of my online movie rental list so i should see it very soon. but that's a BOLD statement. i'm gonna try to ignore it though until i see it. if i expect way too much out a movie and it doesn't deliver...even if it is good...i sometimes think it sucks.
  15. The only Tom that MM would be calling up to the booth to ask what plays to run would be Clements.
  16. doesn't matter how you get to the playoffs...get there, just get there. then you can prove if you stack up with those other playoff teams. sounds to me that you're pretty much saying that if you can't FEEL confident that we're gonna win a playoff game, you don't even want to be there .
  17. i can just hear the trade negotiations on the phone now...... TD: so your intersted in TH huh? Well it's gonna cost you your high 2nd rounder. unknown GM: 2nd rounder???!! are you crazy? i haven't watched film on TH but the last time I was in WNY I walked into that Tops in north Buffalo and his bobbleheads were marked down to 99 cents. you get no better than a 4th for a discounted bobblehead. TD: you saw that? @$%@$. (aside) i'm gonna have to have a talk with that manager. Hey how about a 3rd rounder and we'll repaint all the TH bobbleheads we have to your team colors and send them along with him? GM: DEAL!
  18. that was a hilarious one. those wrestlers were morons. on the one with shaud, he was trying to hit on him and getting him to send messages to all the gay tv viewers in germany. shaud wasn't too happy.
  19. terrible to wear on a cold day with the wind blowing hard.
  20. it was a repeat so this may have been talked about before. i was watching Da Ali G show the other night. ya know the gay character he does? he went down to Alabama University for a football game to interview people. it was so funny. a queer in Alabama? he pissed off half the stadium. anyway, after the game he was sitting there interviewing one of the Alabama players and i kept thinking, that guy looks kind of familiar. it was Shaud Williams. i think you can get that episode on HBO on demand. it was funny to see him on that show.
  21. the bills have as good a shot as ANY team still in the hunt for a wild card. the fact that the bills are playing as good now as at any point this season points to them having the advantage over teams who are playing like they're on the decline. denver and baltimore lost 3 of their last 4. jax had 2 recent wins against gb and chi but lost 4 of the previous 5. the bills have won 7 of their last 8. funny thing about your original post. you don't give one reason for any of the other teams fighting for a spot why they should make it. believe me, they all have major problems that can easily hold them back from finishing strong. ie. injuries, schedule, etc. you're gonna seem more stupid if they make it then you do now for counting them out.
  22. what does this mean then http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?page=afcroster/04 who is it...Craig Hentrich or Lechler. come on espn lets get those facts right!!!
  23. you're right. they just changed it. they had a listing for starters and reserves and had TO listed as a reserve. now they are all grouped together alphabetically under one column. uhmmm...who the hell is shane lechler??? i can't imagine he's better than moorman even if he does punt in northern california.
  24. i know he's injured now but that couldn't have happened in time for the voting. http://www.nfl.com/probowl/nfc_roster http://www.nfl.com/probowl/afc_roster there's a few things that seem awfully wrong with the picks this year. TO a reserve, Moorman not being selected? what else looks screwy? they must've changed it now, but not being one of the first two listed doesn't point to him being a starter.
