  1. I'm excited!! Less than a week out and countless possibilities. This board usually pretty active during the draft?
  2. I strongly suggest you watch some of Boyd and cross your fingers he is there at 49 !
  3. This is such a baseless pile. It's readily apparent that no discussions were had about Rex scrapping his playbook and changing to a base 4-3. If you hate the hire that's fine but blame the person/persons responsible for hiring a defensive minded coach who's principles went against everything your highly paid players excelled at.
  4. https://mobile.twitter.com/GwashburnGlobe/status/723945584823025664 That's good news, no suspension.
  5. I don't like trading down that far and ending up with Cravens in the first, if you look at the talent we passed by after 19 that is a painful watch. Nice mock though, the write ups really give the reader some insight on how you came to your selections. You had Alexander going much higher than a lot of previous mocks iv seen and I love that. +1
  6. I'm torn on what we will do in the first few rounds, If a tackle falls I could see them going in that direction to sure up the right side...They brought on Ed Reed I'm sure he has some influence over Rex just because their relationship and his stature as a player. So it is a possibility, I don't think any of us have a good handle on how our front office communicates in the war room so it's tough to say. I'm not saying a positional coach is in Whaley's ear but I'm sure as heck Rex is spouting off about players anytime he can. I think the most obvious thing to do is take the best DL available and never look back, but Buffalo never does things the "common sense" way. I don't see Whaley drafting all defense with his first 3 picks either...so less than a week away I'm hoping for a Lawson,Diche, Jones, or Spence...followed by Boyd in the 2nd round who offers a ton of value and could be the best WR in this class. IF they are considering Joseph at 19 I hope other players that could be pushed into the BPA category are being considered. If they box themselves into thinking that safety is a 1st round priority I will be concerned when looking at the rest of the roster, for their sake Joseph better be the next Earl Thomas because they will be bypassing some wildly talented players at positions of need.
  7. Is the league reviewing it? It was a boneheaded play and I didn't like how he acted afterwards. I'm a big Celts fan but I can't stand cheap shots, if you want to go hard-run him over in the paint. That would screw us if he is suspended, honestly the tough guy act almost cost us last night, that kid was pissed off and dropped 20 or so off the bench.
  8. I was just going under the impression that Glenn and Gilmore had tied up their cap hits and the FA rush is over. The team is in no rush and should see how the draft falls as it may impact their future plans in regards to both players.
  9. Fair enough. I'm good with Bandits numbers, I remember him presenting those a month or so ago and they made a ton of sense. I'm not as high on Gilmore as a lot of folks and if he is demanding anything close to Norman/Revis I'm parting ways for max value. Your right the 33rd pick may be well beyond his value at this point. When you say no way he signs before the draft that is more on the team than Gilmore and his agent, correct?
  10. I keep seeing him slated as the only safety going in the first round, I assume that is all based on a clean medical.
  11. Take him to the table and offer 25-28 guaranteed and 11.5 or so per. If he is insulted I'm seeing if I can get the Titans 33rd pick. Norman broke the bank, good for him he had a great season at the best possible time. He is in Washington and they have a fair amount of talent on both sides of the ball and their entire division is in flux. Washington man handled our behinds, why are you so down on them?
  12. I will face the flames but no way I'm giving Gilmore anything close to 50 mil guaranteed. No way.
  13. Might be the first And last Patriot I ever pull for.
  14. Teams seem reluctant to part with picks for players entering FA years, I think the best we could get for Glenn or Gilmore would be a 2nd.
  15. Yeah I'm sure Sammy is heart broken that Norman isn't coming to the division.
  16. Can't teach speed and....evidently you can't stop an organization from imploding! Eagles are a lock to finish 4th in that division.
  17. Of course he will be picked in the 1st round, quarterbacks are way over valued in hopes that they can develop into something. We all know that, we don't need to go through and list of all the first round QB's who busted out of the league. It would be quite a long list, just because he is drafted in the 1st does not make him an equal prospect to what will be available. His position and position only dictate that he will be drafted that high. With all the admitted risks and the time it's going to take to even get the kid up to speed why invest a 1st? You could get another physically gifted kid in Cardale Jones and lower your risk exponentially in the 3rd-4th round? They are both a few years away from attempting to play in the NFL, sounds like a coin flip to me...I will take the side that costs much less and dosent force me to bypass an immediate impact player who will be available at 19.
  18. Sure everyone struggles and has a bad day that's not up for debate. The previous poster claimed that he had the highest ceiling in the draft. I have yet to see any legitimate discussion as to why, all everyone sees with Lynch is the size and mobility. We have a first hand example of how well size and mobility translate to the NFL when the brain doesn't match the physical tools. His name is EJ. Could Lynch have success in the NFL? Sure anything is possible but I remain unconvinced that anything he offers makes him worth investing a first round pick.
  19. We could have won the Jacksonville game running the wildcat. I'm not sure you need to throw away a first rounder just because you need/want a new quarterback. If it's not there, it's not there. See EJ. A mid-late round pick hedges your bets and still could very easily push EJ to emergency QB status. Why is Lynch's ceiling so high? Because he is tall!? He ran a one read no huddle spread offense and struggled very badly in his bowl game when the opposition had time to prepare for the quick hitting passing attack. I'm going to guess that a lot of people advocating the Lynch pick were busy at work that day. He also posted the lowest Wonderlic score amongst major QB prospects and comes off as a dim wit in interviews.
  20. Glad I'm not alone on this one, I watched a bunch of his interviews yesterday and he irritates the heck out of me. Maybe it was his pretentious smile and goofy bead combined with his stretched out white T under some jacket that Travolta wore in Grease. Nothing about that kids demeanor sells me on him being a leader/QB either.
  21. Stroke guys in Buffalo? Well I'm glad you guys are convinced we know what the hell we are doing and would be that disappointed! I'm convinced Alexander is going to be one of the steals of the draft. After this year we would be able to move on from Gilmore without breaking the bank. Id rather have Glenn and hopefully a productive TT inked to big deals. We would then have two elite young corners on rookie deals for the future and still have money to spend to address needs. If we ink Glenn, Gilmore and Taylor we will have another offseason in which we can't address any holes through FA. Bargains are to be had and to go two straight years sitting at the cap is fiscally irresponsible. Obviously we have glaring holes that could be addressed with Jones, Diche, Rankins etc..but I'm not convinced we make the right move. I would love all those guys and totally understand it, but looking at the chances we draft a Lee, Lynch, or Floyd I will rejoice that with Alexander (although not a need) will be a future stud. So in short...with some serious duds lurking around our draft board at 19 I will be in love with anyone I consider to be a stud...such as Alexander.
  22. I would love it, but that would take some grande cajones given what the current roster looks like.
  23. I'm curious if any others have seen some of his recent interviews? Does he strike you as a football player? QB? I already have my opinions of the kid so I'm not going to skew yours, I'd just like to see what you guys think (who have watched him).
  24. Good. The space shot Lynch got an 18, throw that reason onto the pile and pleeeeeasssse don't draft him.
  25. Have you ever been camping? I heard it's intense.
