Slow down just a minute, I have rethought all this and I have found a silver lining. Fans around the NFL have hope, the end of the Patriot machine may be closer than we think due to the moves these past two days. They gave up their first and lost a nice RWS contract oppurtunity to get a player under their control for 5 years. Cooks is due to be paid much sooner than that pick, Butler is due, Hightower is due, Collins is gone, Jones is gone, Ryan is gone, Bennett is gone. That is a huge departure of talent but clearly not enough to derail them. Kony Ealy also has played a few years into his rookie deal. I know this is long winded but this weeks move improved their team but may have accelerated their inevitable decline. Two keys that must happen, the Pats must hang onto Jimmy G. and he must fail as a starting QB. Stephon Gilmore has to flop in New England. He will be their #1 after this year, his money could work against them once they pay Cooks, Jimmy G. Etc. In this scenario I also want them to pay Hightower top dollar. Edelman, Gronk, Amendola, Dmac, and a few of their offensive lineman have already played their best years out in NE. Blehhh it's a reach I suppose. First step don't trade Jimmy G. I don't want them replacing those picks. Second step open that checkbook to that ILB.

Bobby you can just admit your wrong and it was a misleading thing to post. How can your eyes see something and make a determination on something that he isn't even playing!? He played zone less than 6 snaps per game, one target, he wasn't even FSU's best corner. So if you were there "scouting" what exactly did you see!? The whole thing seems disingenuous at best. Plenty of low hanging fruit for anyone looking to be critical of the Bills, let's just keep to truths.

Yet WonderBobby knows that Darby will be a horror show in zone coverage 3 years later. Awesome.

No I'm as critical as anyone of the Bills, but making off the wall statements that don't even mesh with his scouting report is beyond me. Plenty of things to be critical of, I don't need to pretend I was watching Darby's eyes at FSU while he was in zone coverage.

Does FSU run only zone coverage? I find it pretty odd that Bobby would remember how well Darby played in a particular coverage, Darby was a surprise pick and you were watching his tendencies in zone? Common man

A bit of a slap in the face to the implementation of the cap floor.

They should have went to the table with Zach B. not Lorax. Lorax is an aging journeymen and I think it's just as likely his success could be credited to that zany scheme and the amount of oppurtunities he had to rush the passer unblocked. Paying him as the double digit sack guy is dangerous. Zach Brown has the speed and athleticism to mimic some of the things that McD did with his backers in Carolina. Brown is 27, Lorax will be 34 before training camp starts. If it's a difference of a few million bucks a year I'm paying Zach and counting on the new coaching staff to get a more consistent effort out of him each week.

The hacking thing always seems suspicious to me. Most the time I think they had a few drinks and probably posted something they normally wouldn't have. But W/E Jimmy!

Some folks just want to argue for the sake of it, then when multiple people explain the process to them 10 different ways they resort to raising the volume. This same type of trade was rumored years ago when the Bears realized the mistake they made with Cutler and were debating giving up Cutler and a first for a late round pick. I bet they wish they pulled the trigger. Good on Houston for not standing pat and wasting their window. Good on the Browns for not writing a bad contract for the sake of making the floor and losing flexibility going forward.

Look up to the post which listed all the Browns picks in 17', 18'. Then go look at some of their recent additions on OLine and front 7 on D. IF they draft well they will be loaded with young talent and still have plenty of cap room with which they can bolster the roster through FA. It's clear they have a plan in place. What's the plan in Buffalo?

Doing this makes more sense then signing a bad contract. They aren't ready to win yet, why would they overpay a FA to come there? This comes off the books next year.

They have to get to the salary cap floor, they aren't winning this year. That money is better spent acquiring a high pick than it is over paying some scrub just to hit the floor. It's forward thinking, I know that's a foreign idea around Buffalo.
