Hogwash. There's isn't one person alive out there who is "on call" 24/7/365 for "instantaneuous" conversation. You making yourself out to be a lot more important than you actually are (just like the Facebook employees). -

http://artsci.lsu.edu/groups/GeneralStudies/General_Studies_Web_2010.htm "The Bachelor of General Studies degree program is for the student whose professional goals and educational objectives are optimally satisfied by a focused curriculum of interdisciplinary studies. The five areas of concentration in the Bachelor of General Studies link three undergraduate minors to create a thematic interdisciplinary major. All requirements for each undergraduate minor must be satisfied." Boy, that'll get you far in today's world. -

infrastructure projects
\GoBillsInDallas/ replied to tomato can's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The problem is, governments and politicians look at "maegaprojects" as a badge of honor that they can tell people that they were responsible for getting them built (and "improving the area" as well). Here's a great example from Buffalo: http://www.buffalonews.com/city/communities/downtown/article886496.ece Here we have a $300 million building built by the University of Buffalo. We can discuss whether this building is needed at all, but even if is needed, look at the photo. Why is a four-story atrium needed? Custom-made glass? This building could have easily been built for half, or even a quarter of the price. But, it's an "important" project that improves "education". And god forbid that you "oppose" education! -
