  1. I just hope Norv quits those 7 step drops. Especially after they demoted the one OL that played okay last year.
  2. The kid is the prototype for my style of team. If I'm a GM, he's my pick because I already know every guy I want around him. The best is yet to come from Teddy Two Gloves.
  3. Congratulations to the big man. One of the most enjoyable guys in the league to watch 14 games of the season.
  4. Also gets a major chunk of his guaranteed money out of the way by the time a new contract for Darby is on the table. Works for me.
  5. So we replace Gilmore's 5th year option with a new deal and offer Tyrod an extension on the year he has left? The Bills current top 51 + rookie pool gives us $6.5m in cap room so that gives us a lot of leeway to really pump money in Gilmore this year.
  6. It depends on the action of the player involved. Something like drink-driving is highly stupid and potentially very dangerous. It speaks to poor decision making but I'm not sure it inherently makes you a terrible person. My dad lost his license in the early 80's for it and I don't see that he could've had a complaint if he lost his job as a result. Actions have consequences but I'm not naive enough to think that teams will cut valuable assets over something like that. Something like beating a woman or torturing dogs should come with an automatic life ban. There is absolutely no way that the league should reward people like that. I get that it's a violent sport but the vast majority manage to turn it on during a game and can flip that switch back off afterwards. The people who can't control that are dangerous.
  7. Teams aren't lining up to overpay guards or centre fielders. I know what you're getting at but corners aren't plug and play like a lot of positions. They are cornerstone talents, the odds of finding one that'll reach Gilmore's level probably isn't all that high. Schematically, Rex can do so much with 2 corners that are capable of shutting down one sideline. By the time Darby needs paying (provided that he keeps up the form he showed as a rookie), Gilmore should have the significant portion of his guaranteed money eaten up. Move him along when you have a younger stud to pay but, while you've got a starter on 2nd round rookie money, corner is a smart investment.
  8. As I've said before, Gilmore's baseline starts at Janoris Jenkins. Average salary of $12.5m, guaranteed money totalling $28.8m. Gilmore is better than Jenkins. He's 2 years younger. He's a prime fit for Rex Ryan. $15m a year is steep money but I'd pay it if I have to. If we don't, someone else will. It's not about how much you're worth, it's about how much you can convince people you are.
  9. Played for Urban so there might be a skeleton in his closet.
  10. Do I think there might've been better people to give the award to? Quite possibly. As mentioned before, Lauren Hill was a story of incredible courage and bravery. That being said, we're still talking about her now, she's still in the public consciousness. It's not like giving the award to someone else minimised who she was or what she did. The main problem I have with awards like that are that there's normally dozens of people that have a genuine reason for being nominated. And people tend to argue that their favourite is better than the recipient.
  11. JWill was dumb - http://katv.com/news/local/former-razorback-jonathan-williams-arrested-and-charged-with-dwi
  12. I feel for Dante. All he wanted to do was take a back seat and enjoy semi-retirement.
  13. I get it. I'm not the biggest fan of how the whole thing was handled. It ended up looking more like an attention grab than anything else. But that award wasn't about Caitlyn Jenner. There are thousands upon thousands of people who struggle with gender identity issues. Many of them have suffered in absolute silence with no support. What Caitlyn did was give them a voice, it gave them legitimacy. There's a very public face that's in their corner. There's more awareness about what they struggle with. If that's not heroic, I don't know what is.
  14. I changed it yesterday morning because I knew the award was being presented. No fuss, no song and dance. Just my way of remembering him. I might keep it in case people ask "Who is that?". It's a story I'd never tire of repeating.
  15. I've not watched it yet. Not entirely sure I could sit through it without bawling. At 15 years old, he was already a better man than I am. I hope those girls he saved do wonderful things with the second chance he afforded them.
  16. The kid in my profile picture is Zaevion Dobson. Take a minute to learn his story and tell me that honouring him is pointless.
  17. I've never gone back and re-watched the Bills-Ravens game from 2010 so not sure if the ruling was actually legit. Shawn Nelson got stripped in OT after many thought forward progress was stopped. 4 plays later, we lost.
  18. Dante Scarnecchia is back as their OL coach so that should give them a boost. One of the best in the business. http://www.patspulpit.com/2016/5/19/11711962/the-difference-between-patriots-ol-coach-dante-scarnecchia-and-dave
  19. I can barely give my opinion away for free.
  20. There have been players in the NFL (and other sports) that have used their profile to speak on the issues that transpired last week. Players like Jaelen Strong were very vocal and I respect him greatly for using his platform. Even in the face of a bunch of "stick to sports" angry white guys telling him otherwise. What Crowell did wasn't just stupid. With the way people idolise sportsmen (as stupid as that is), it could be seen as incitement. Crowell has also been a problem before. Arrested on felony firearms charges. It was hoped that he'd matured since then but this throws doubt over that. He is free to speak but he isn't free from the consequences. The fact that Crowell plays football means nothing to me. What matters is that all people are equal until they prove themselves not to be. He's just a ****ty human being.
  21. Calls Julian Edelman a punk. Realises his buddy Aaron got done for taunting while losing.
  22. Oh, I hope so. It's not like I enjoy losing. Just really want to get one over on Brady. Feels a bit like a backdoor victory.
  23. Bills need to appeal. Get him found super-mega not guilty.
  24. You know I look good in a powdered wig. Don't deny it.
