Sure, I'll be nice to you. U of Cincy has a great Engineering College and a pretty big co-op program. The current president of my alma mater (Drexel U) was the former Dean of Engineering there (thanks for Taki, BTW... you let a good one get away). Bob Huggins' affection for thugs on his BB team probably affected the reputation of a great academic institution. It's time that is fixed. See? I can be nice. BTW, the kid hitting the half-court shot on ESPN during midnight madness about 10 years ago was one of my favorite clips. Dicky V pledged to pitch in for the kid's books.

They're not just words, they're special words. Now, if a guy is dropping f-bombs every other sentence, it kinda dulls that word, IMHO. I don't swear much so that when I need a little something extra, I can bring it. That's advice I got from my dad. He's a pretty sharp guy.

Not for nothin', but my cousin is on the Marshall coaching staff. That was really strange. I'll email him Monday to get the scoop.

I bet that Tara Lynn and Carolyn hate her.

Any list of top 80s songs that omits Spandau Ballet, the Pet Shop Boys, or the Thompson Twins can't be dignified with comment. I'm sorry.

I love the original "Nerds". It was the first time I snuck into an R-rated movie. It had everything a 14-year old needed: Sports related, bathroom humor, drug themes, and gratuitous nudity. I hope the remake does it justice. Didn't Bobby Jones get his law degree from Emory?

Terrell Owens has a personal health issue...

There is a simple solution for this that is used in the military. If you think you're going to fall asleep, you need to be relieved of your chair and stand in the back of the room. That's it. Done and done. -

LAMP - I'm so hungover right now it is ridiculous

His wife would never allow it. She was dressed as the Little Mermaid, complete with the shells. I have to hand it to him, he stayed in character all night. It was creepy. -

I was out Saturday night at at house party. I was HAMMERED! I slept throught the early games on Sunday, and then got a call from my friend that started out, "Dude, did you make out with my sister?" Lots of nice slutty costumes for the girls. The scariest award went to a friend that dressed up like a gay 'Brokeback' cowboy. [shudder] -
Yes - Happy B-day to the guy that remembers everyone's B-day. Don't eat too much candy.

I agree. Yesterday I had Philly and Carolina. Putrid. On Saturday, I had Marshall, Northwestern & Wake Forest. Wake missed covering by a 1 point, but the other two were solid. I can't remember a year where it was easier to pick college than pro.

Dude is sporting a pretty healthy "Jeff Wright" model mustache. It would be pretty interesting to see this guy today. -
Want to meet someone while in traffic?
HopsGuy replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
True story: About 8 years ago, a friend of mine that lives in Atlanta was stuck in one of those epic Big Peach traffic jams. As he thinks to himself, "Sherman should have plowed this place under with salt, Carthage-style", he looks over and sees a hottie in her car. (You should know that my friend is a legendary dog.) Since traffic is at a stand-still, he puts his car in park and walks over to hit on her. Of course, he gets her number and would later describe her as "the craziest nymphomaniac I've ever met." That relationship lastest a few months. Just last summer his new girlfriend informed him of his impending paternity. There was a shotgun wedding. The gods giveth and the gods later laugh and laugh. -
Well, that's 4 more than Sid Vicious could play.

What instrument(s) do you play (no double entendre intended)?

Yesterday, Gregg Easterbrook said that he thought that we might know about 1% of everything there is to know. After I read that this morning I thought, maybe 1% is a little high. -
I was in the Fury on the Erie for about 36 hours. I had a great time, but it was more a function of seeing old friends than anything else. I went to a house party Saturday night. We had a band and the cops showed up. The lead singer had a best line: "Who ordered the stripper?" It was a great party, and I managed to win $200 in a raffle, which was gravy. Sunday we got downtown around 1 PM. We first ventured into Panini's but that place was PACKED. We moved over to Tequila Ranch to watch the early games. You know those Budweiser girls that have the promotions? Well, one of my buddies is dating one, so we pretty much drank for free. Bonus! We had decent seats at the game (endzone under cover), but there were a few knuckleheads that insisted on standing the whole game. The Broncos D has the ability to make the best game on the planet seem boring. I swear I saw an ad on the Jumbotron that said, "This game brought to you by Sominex." After the game we went back over to the bar to watch the WS. Then home. So, to answer the original question, what is there to do in Cleveland. The answer: Drink. QED

Buffalo No. 6 in Fan Loyalty, Cleveland No. 1
HopsGuy replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since % capacity is a factor and some of the years in the study included time in the cavernous LA Coliseum, that had quite an effect. I'm actually surprised Miami is as high as 13th. Lots of those loyal Fish fans come to the stadium dressed as empty orange seats. -
Was that Jake Johannsen? "I thought there might be a snowman in there with his hat blown off. There you go fella."

Congrats, mead! Please extend this old Irish blessing to the young couple: May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace. May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase. May the saddest day of your future Be no worse than the happiest day of your past. May your hands be forever clasped in friendship And your hearts joined forever in love. Your lives are very special, God has touched you in many ways. May his blessings rest upon you And fill all your coming days. Oh yeah - and May All Your Troubles Be Little Ones!

Flyers waive Baumgartner, Nedved, Dimitrakos
HopsGuy replied to taterhill's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Wow. I mean.... wow. I almost feel bad, then I remember it's the Flyers. Then I think -
Definitely true, Bill. I hang with a large group of people, and a couple of weeks ago we were all at a sports bar for the games. We had three tables reserved and there were a few girls with us. As we rotated, I found myself with three of the women (a friend from work, my buddy's sister, and my other buddy's wife). The friend from work (a total hottie) was wearing her McNabb jersey. During the Iggles-Cowboys game, she was intensely into it. At one point she yelled, "Oh my god, oh my god, OH MY GOD!!!" I turned to my buddy's wife and deadpanned, "I often have this effect on women." There were all kinds of women there. I like this trend.

Congratulations to both you and your family. Good luck with all of that.
