From the beginning, when he announced he would be taking over the DC role, my concern was that his game management would suffer. Given when has to work with, I don't think he's been bad at DC (apart from NE and the second half of the Eagles game).

What's even crazier to me...
Imagine if we said in the offseason that AJE would break out. Bernard would perform as well as Edmunds or better. Benford would turn into a solid starter. Shakir would develop as a slot. Cook would be top 3 in the NFL in rushing. Kincaid would be one of our leading receivers. O'Cyrus would perform above the level of a rookie. Ed would play at an All Pro level.
How on earth would that not equal Super Bowl level trajectory for the team? Yet, here we are. Next few weeks could get really interesting if we can build off the Jets game.
This is the time of season that you want your team to get hot for a superbowl run. But I'm afraid the Bills may have dug themselves in too deep a hole.
As long as the Bills lose one less than Miami going into the last week, they have a shot at the division.

Do wonder if Ty Johnsons play will spell the end of Fournette's career on the Bills before it ever even started.
His hustle helped to prevent a TD on that interception before the half.

With the switch to Brady, and Gabe's performance over the last several weeks (Tampa Bay aside), I think we may have seen the end of his run as WR2. It's Kincaid with a sprinkling of Shakir taking over as #2.

I guess. Just having a hard time believing that some Bills' coach went to Diggs this past week and said "Hey Sauce is guarding you this week, so we're probably going to be going to other guys." Can't imagine Diggs would be "OK" with that. LOL In fact, I'd bet money he would be p***ed off.
You would lose money. We have to stop with this "Diggs just wants stats" stuff. He has shown himself to be a fighter who just wants to win. He's not pouting when another receiver gets the ball. He's right there celebrating with them.

Brady has had 5 days to prep someone else's offense to play a top 3 defense. How are we not up 21 - 0 by now?
Seriously, Brady may fail here, but people complaining about the offense already (after scoring points on the first 2 drives) are the reason we can't have nice things.

The throw is elite. But we can pick nits here too. He bailed on a clean(ish) pocket early. He also had a really easy completion to Cook in the middle of the field to get a FD. It was an incredible throw, but the degree of difficulty on that is off the charts. But that's what you get with Josh.
I agree. I wasn't absolving Josh's mistakes. He makes plenty.
But no amount of coaching can make a person good enough to make this play. Burrow couldn't make that throw.
But Burrow would've hit Cook for the first down. Like you said, that's what you get with Josh.

To the people who don't think Josh is elite... this throw is ridiculous.

Guys fail as OCs in one place and succeed in another all the time. For one glaring example, see the career arc of Brian Daboll.
Quality of the starting QB has a big impact. Say what you want about Josh (I still love the guy), but I think we can agree that he's a big upgrade over Bridgewater, Darnold, and late career Newton.

I thought we witnessed that last night?? Losing to a bad team at home in primetime, with your franchise QB looking like Uncle Rico and your head coach making middle school coaching mistakes.
How dare you? If Uncle Rico had been put in 4th quarter, he would've won state. Learn some football before making asinine comments like that.

Follow along with me.
For those who know me, I’m a firm believer in numbers, analytics and how those factor into our success as we move forward to the Super Bowl.
We’ve come to the start of a very special run (possibly no more losses). Here’s why:
11-13-2023
1+1+1+3 = 6
2+0+2+3 = 7
6/7 = June 7th
Do you know what happened on June 6 and 7th in 1944? The Normandy Friggin Campaign. The long road to victory in WW2!!
It gets better. 1944 (1+9+4+4) = 18
Guess who was drafted in the 2018 draft? Josh Freaking Allen
Talk about a goocher.
The numbers all work. This will be a great run!
Thank me later.
Well, you've convinced me...to smoke exactly what you're smoking.

And this is a guy that won Super Bowls with David Givens, Reche Caldwell and Deion Branch. The fact that he went to a talented Tampa team doesn't really mean much. There is no doubt in my mind that you could have downgraded his entire WR core and it still wouldn't have mattered
This is brain washing. Bill Belichick's great defensive mind did nothing in Cleveland and he did nothing without Brady in either place. What part of this don't people understand?
The one who is brainwashed is you, apparently. You're on some strange crusade to prove that Belichick isn't a good coach. Any objective person who knows football, knows that Belichick is a damn good coach.
By your simplistic measure, Brian Billick was an excellent coach because he won a superbowl with Trent Dilfer.
And you fail to address how Tom Brady wins the superbowls, I mentioned previously, without Belichick's excellent coaching.
-
Brady is one of the greatest to play the game. I hate to say it because I can't stand the guy. But also, he doesn't win all of those rings without Belichick's defensive mind.
Brady didn't limit the "greatest show on turf" to 17 points, or the McVay Rams offense to 3 points. Brady didn't stop the Falcons from scoring in the second half, nor did he get a goalline stop when the ball should've been given to Beast Mode.
He hand picked the bucs for a reason. It gave an aging Brady a team loaded with playmakers and a good coach. Brady was great. But QBs don't win games by themselves. It's not a question of Brady OR Belichick... it was Brady AND Belichick. Greatest coach QB combo of all time. I'm going to melt my keyboard now, for allowing me to type that.

While covering a deep zone, I assume they'd line him up wide, right?

So this week we've learned that Josh Allen is:
Slowing down
Not going through his progressions
Seems a bit depressed
Misses his ex
Still isn't studying film
Only wanted Dorsey because he's his buddy
Has an allergy to pistachio's (talk about bad luck)
Has lost his passion for the game
I may have missed a few.
Just how many ladders did this guy walk under in the offseason?
The Madden curse...you forgot the Madden curse.

People who already didn't like McD just want to assign the offensive blame to him to pile on their case against him. But the reality is, offensively, Dorsey is the substantial problem. But if McD and Beane don't find the balls to fire Dorsey then Dosey is probably going to take at least one of them down with him at a later date.
FIRE DORSEY already! The offense has been searching for an identity for a year and a half, its pathetic Dorsey still can't establish one.
I agree with this. Of course, we are all speculating because no one from TSW is in One Bills Drive every day, but McD seems frustrated by the offense as well. He's getting production out of a patchwork defense, meanwhile the healthy offense (with generational talent at QB) is sputtering along.
McD isn't going to publicly throw Dorsey under the bus, but before the Bucs game, McD said at this point, the offense should have an identity and you should know what your guys are good at. Then they came out up-tempo, throwing it to different guys and finally getting Kincaid his first TD.
It makes no sense that McD would purposely sandbag the offense. None. No coach ever said, "This offense is just too good, slow it down."
I get it, we're all pissed off about this teams performance. And ultimately, it's on McD to get this turned around. But to assign him blame for the offenses current stuggles is just misguided. But I understand the anger behind the blaming. I'm pissed off as well.

What an untimely and stupid thread. Jackson was actually one of the best players on the field yesterday.
Yeah, this is kind of an odd thread. "Our 3rd string CB, who is only playing because of injuries, isn't good enough and should be benched."
Meanwhile he just played pretty well on a deleted defense that forced 4 punts, a turnover on downs, and kept the "hottest team in the NFL" to 3 points in the second half. Pretty far down the list of reasons the Bills lost this game is Dane Jackson.

Is my aunt my uncle if she has a penis? Sure. But until that happens, this question doesn't matter.
The Bills have 4 quarters to win the game. Just like every other team.

Dorsey is a bad, bad offensive coordinator. It’s just that simple. Josh wanting him as OC means nothing really with regards to scheme. He picked him because he was familiar with Daboll’s system and the team. Also, it's possible to be a good QB coach, but bad OC. Just like one can be a good coordinator but bad HC.

I wonder if some of this is that the WRs have multiple route options on each play and that they're not where Josh is expecting them to be. That may or may not be part of the problem, but if it is, it would explain his hesitation and probably also his over-reliance on Diggs.
Josh certainly has made some mistakes, but he didn't coincidently forget how to play football when Dorsey became OC. Something is going on here, and we've heard guys say that the playbook needs to be simplified.
This staff couldn't get Hines up to speed last year. Slow to get Kincaid involved. Isn't using Harty. Rarely gets Cook involved in the passing game even though that was his strength. All of this says something about Dorsey and the coaching.

I'm not advocating for Ben Johnson. He certainly is very run heavy, though I wonder if that's a product of who his QB and HC are. Would he be run heavy with Josh Allen behind center?
