Great timing-
This is the resigning equivalent of an 8 yard cushion on 3rd and 4.

Say what you will about McFrazier, but they are excellent at developing defensive backs. And they have already turned former CBs into one of the best safety tandems in the league (Poyer and Hyde). Benford is intriguing, but I'd still like to add one more safety in the offseason.

Let's trade up and draft a WR, then sit him on the bench so he can start in 2024.

Is he? He was hurt most of the year and didn't do much when he played. Elam played very well down the stretch for the Bills
Agree. I liked McDuffie more going into the draft, but I don't think he's better than Elam right now. He was just given more opportunity. When given the chance to play, Kaiir demonstrated the ability to show up in big moments this season.
I believe the '22 draft class will prove to be a good one for the Bills.

Brown has prototypical size, and is one of the best athletes in the NFL. But he had next to zero experience when he was drafted. He absolutely has the tools to be an elite RT.
Having said that, we need to bring in competition, and allow him to develop. Imagine if we had the patience to do the same with Wyatt Teller.

Are the Rams really done? They won the SB just one year ago! They had so many injuries you can't even gauge their "power rankings".
If Edmunds can get 12M, yes, it'd probably be better to get Wagner instead.
Edmunds is going to get 17 - 20 million average annual value from someone. The Bills could structure the contract so his cap hit is less than 12 million for the first year or two. But dude is going to get paid.

I'm sure Lamar knows that some team will give him something like 50M per, fully guaranteed, 6-7 year contract.
Easy for us to say that's crazy, given we have Josh Allen, but I'm sure quite a few would pay whatever it takes to someone like Lamar Jackson when we were wandering in the QB wilderness after Jim Kelly.
Let's hope the Jets are that team. Kill their cap and deplete their picks... Woody Johnson said he'd do whatever it takes to bring in a top tier QB, didn't he? Lamar, debatable, but most would say he's that.
Lamar is the "elite" QB that scares me the least. McFrazier seem to have a good recipe/gameplan for limiting him.

Yes, the chiefs traded Hill last yearb but they still kept one of the 2 best TEs in the history of the NFL. The Bills don't have a guy like that through which to funnel the offense if they trade Diggs.
I agree that we need to get younger, and let those young guys play.

Zay Jones looks like a 1980’s Dominican porn star that does his scenes in a bedroom with a faded lime green colored wall and a flag in place of a headboard.
That's an oddly specific description of Zay. I hope you clear your browser history.

Maybe he can move up to 9, and draft an undersized DT.
Seriously, though. It's about scouting. Scouting of prospects, and scouting of self (team). Not about where you draft so much. Mixing in a little luck wouldn't hurt.

My guess - our more expensive “special teams aces” are going to be not brought back so we’re finding cheaper replacements to save some cap $$$. The difference might pay for 1/4 of one competent starting guard!
Agree. Special teams are very important, but I think Matakevich is a luxury we can't afford when the o- line is badly in need of an upgrade. Paying 4 million to your 5th linebacker isn't good budgeting when you're 20 mil over the cap.

Well, Josh said we need to be like the chiefs. Beane just said, "hold my beer."

I don't think people realize how good, or important, he is. Sure, he doesn't make a lot of splash plays (a function of playing in Frazier's defense I suspect). But he's able to take chunks of the field away and lowers the overall efficiency of the opposing offense.
I'd hate to lose him. It creates a massive hole.

This team needs a lot of cheap depth guys. I expect to sign and keep a few undradted FAs. As well as a trade down or two in the draft. But i don't want to trade one of our starting caliber CBs and create another hole. Especially because 2 are on cheap rookie contacts. And Dane is a RFA.

With the cap savings maybe we could fix the OL and get another WR. You may be on to something!
Imagine Peterman with the eagles offense. He'd only throw 2 picks a game.

Smoke & mirrors. We all know darn well that our new WR Coach will be from the Panthers.
Jerricho Cotchery could be a possibility. Played there, coached there. Currently a WR coach at a small university so this wouldn't be a lateral move.

I wasn't happy with Dorsey this year. But I've made my peace with him being the OC next year. So let's give him an NFL caliber o-line to work with, and a real WR2.

I think there were multiple factors to their rookie success this year. Scouting, coaching, injuries, and lack of depth. But it is impressive that they were able to plug in their rookies and not miss a beat.
Their coaches are able to adapt scheme to utilize their players. Meanwhile, our coaches keep the athletic, first round CB with ball skills on the bench because he doesn't fit the scheme.

This team has 3 players whom I would never question their heart or passion to win. Josh, Stefon and Matt. These are the type of players you build around, not ever get rid of.
I really don't understand people questioning his attitude. He's not being a diva, he's not trying to pad his stats. We're lucky to have him. I wish we had a few more with his fight.

To be fair, he wasn't plucked by Daboll and Shein until late in the season when their WR corps was decimated.
But it is concerning that a team with drop problems couldn't find a place for Hodgins' sure hands.

I hope the person that is our #2 next year is not Davis or Shakir because Shakir will be our #3 slot receiver and Davis the 4th receiver on the roster.
I think this is exactly right, and would be ideal. We need a real playmaking WR2. That guy isn't on the roster right now.

You need entirely new players when you're coordinator is married to a scheme. Not if you have a coach who adapts to get the most out of the players he has.
