It's the defense for me.  Can they stop the 3rd & 8, 10, 15.  Get off the field.  The red zone d is pretty solid but damn.

Agree. I don't like how the defense matches up against the Bengals, chiefs, or dolphins. These teams have fast playmakers. We just don't have the speed. The defense relies on scheme discipline.

On the other hand, I know they don't like how their defenses match up against Allen/Diggs. But outside of these two, we don't have much consistency on O.

I feel like Gabe and Knox are starting to show signs... There's sign of life from them in the passing game.  It's not popping just yet.. Gabe still isn't putting up numbers a WR2 should in this Offense and Knox still has the drops here and there.   But Davis is starting to show he can do more than just go routes, and Knox showed why he's so dangerous when we can get him vertical in the passing game.

Get those two going heading into the playoffs, and this Offense will take off.

Things should open up more for us when the Bills take the restraints off Allen and he just starts gashing teams on the ground whenever they give him a lane.

You have a point there. And i hope you're right. We need guys to step up from here on out. I also think there is something to the hypothesis of Allen suffering a concussion in the packers game. Against the fish, he looked more like early season Josh. Using his other guys more like the game had slowed down again.

I'm sure he wants to win, but he's also 3rd in the league in receptions and yards right now - with Tyreek Hill, #2, ahead of him, on the opposite side of the ball.  I think it's highly naive to think he "just wants to win" and doesn't care about touches or stats.  If he "just wants to win", he should be happy when Josh throws a completion short or hands the ball off, and we move the chains.

I won't pretend to know what's going on in his head. But seems to me he gets fired up when the offense is stagnating. Because he believes he can pull them out. So far this year, it's Diggs and Allen as the only consistent playmakers.

I don't see him getting pissed about touches when the offense is humming along. I didn't see him upset when they were up 21 - 13 with TDs going to tight ends and RBs. He was the first one sliding into Bass after the game winner. He's very much a team guy by all accounts.

    Yes correct

It's him and Allen on offense and only one of them is required to hide his frustration as the face of the franchise

    That's such a good point.

  4. Dorsey seems to be on tilt. The offense is struggling to find a rhythm, and instead of taking the easy first downs, he calls a 5 step drop on 3rd and 2 yesterday. 7 step drops on 3rd and 9.

Let's get into a rhythm first before taking those shots. Earlier in the season, Dorsey seemed to have a better feel for the game and how to set up plays. These last few weeks he seems like he's pulling plays out of a hat.

Glad we are 10-3 but the way we are winning does not feel satisfying at all.

Dropping passes, missing tackles, numerous holding penalties… just not what you want to see as we get closer to the playoffs.

Agreed. I'm happy with a win, no matter how it comes. But sloppy play won't get it done in the playoffs. Winning this way doesn't seem a sustainable formula. The offense is leaving too many points on the field.

When you watch the game each week, you pick up on little mannerisms and “tells”. Like watching other players at a poker table, you can pick up ticks or gestures that indicate what they are doing or about to do. I’ve been compiling various “tells” for the Bills the last six weeks and you’ll see what I’m talking about if you pause the game or watch closely:

    1) When Gabe Davis lines up wide, if he adjusts his helmet before snap, it’s a run play. The CB might as well run toward midfield.

    2) If Dion Dawkins pops his head to the left BEFORE the snap, it’s a passing play. He’s checking for DE’s position.

    3) Watch Josh Allen in the huddle. If he’s illustrating the play with a lot of hand movement, five times out of 10 it’s an RPO. The defense knows this.

    4) On defense, take a look at Edmunds. If he positions his right hand on his knee/thigh area, he’ll drop in coverage. Pretty easy for the opposing QB to hand off through the G gap.

    5) Singletary…if he cheats his left foot to 11 o’clock, he’s gonna be pass blocking or running.

Our quality control coaches should do a better job so average Joe’s like me can’t figure this stuff out. Tell me if you pick out any more tomorrow or as the season progresses.

I can't validate any of these, but I don't understand why people are making jokes. NFL teams have talked about looking for tells for decades. I remember a story about Dan Fouts standing with his right heel up before hiking on passing downs. There have been times during the season when I feel like the opponents know what's coming. I think this is a fascinating topic. Thank you.

Not a bad idea at all actually, but once again, I don’t expect Diggs to put up 150 yds and 1 TD in this matchup.

As another poster eluded to, Dawson Knox may need to step up his game this week and I hope he does, but I think our receivers as a whole need to show up Davis, McKenzie, Shakir collectively.

The Jets have a good CB2 and slot guy as well. This defense is pretty stacked.

Seems Shakir’s role in the offense will be to provide debate amongst fans as to what his role in the offense will be.

And he's doing a great job.

He has potential, and a good work ethic. But he was a 5th rounder for a reason. It's up to him to polish his game and become the gem that many people in the league see in him.

  9. I've been a little critical of the coaching staff during this mid-season slump. But I consider it constructive and I'm glad we have this staff. McDermott clearly self-evaluates and keeps the team evolving during and between seasons.

This is the best Bills team in 30 years, and currently one of the best 3 or 4 teams in the league.

That commercial is out for a while what they need to do is get him on the State Farm commercials with the other quarterbacks

I always thought an insurance company could play with Allen's arm strength. Like he lightly, underhand tosses keys to someone and the keys fly across the room through the wall. Nationwide used to do some funny stuff with Manning.
