  1. I don't have time for Bills games. Darrel Young just vultured another touchdown from Alfred Morris so I'm pissed.
  2. Great point about the time of possession. At the same time, the offense had opportunities to win the game and they let them slip away. The possession before the end of the half was idiotic at best, like you said Kelly's play calling. That and the opening drive by the Giants in the 3rd quarter was too much to overcome for that particular team. Kind of why I'd bet on a choke. Kelly played below is ability in all four Super Bowls. That's a shame, and no a coincidence.
  3. I'm not sure who's convicting Spikes of a crime in this thread, but that idea seems discussed more by the tolerant crowd here..? Irony is everywhere, my friend. It's ironic that we can discuss the meaning and consequences of a Spikes tweet and take the stance that social media is the reason why he's seen in a certain light, yet it's the reason why we can even talk about it with each other to begin. Yep, I did stupid stuff when I was younger also. But Spikes isn't young. He's a millionaire that has the ear of many many thousands of fans and his comments are found at the top of the World Wide Leader's webpage because they were dumb. I refuse to give somebody a gun and then blame the gun when he kills somebody. That's an exaggerated case of course, and Spikes has done no such thing (I hope), but the buddy he's defending did exactly that. It's not Spike's fault his friend killed people, but he certainly has proven to stick his foot in his mouth about some very serious issues where there's no room for mistakes. Issues that have caused millions of deaths. Should the Bills keep him around? More people in this thread say yes than no. And that's perfectly fine. He said some dumb things. It's not Twitter's fault, or Hernandez's fault, or because he's black and grew up a certain way. It's his fault and he's a big boy that can deal with that. I would only suggest that he stop posting stupid stuff because as a Bills lifer, Its disappointing, and it won't help him positive ways. If Spikes wants sympathy for his Brother, how about showing a little for the victim's family first.
  4. It cannot be that the current defense hops in a time machine and travels back to play. Bigger faster stronger has to be neutralized. The K-Gun couldn't do anything against the Redskins defense either. That was a good defense, but the weakest that the Bills played against in the SBs. If I had to put my money somewhere it would be that the K-Gun chokes. Don't forget, the kicker would have to be 11. There's no sense in having this make believe matchup unless it's in the biggest game - a Super Bowl.
  5. Really interesting topic. You'd have to put both offense and defense into a vacuum... Also we probably need to pick one glory year. We are using the current defense after all. The best years being 90 and 91 on offense. Which year was better by the way? In 91 they had to make up for a poorer defefensive. Neither offense preformed up to their capability in the Super Bowl. The current defensive had fantastic year. If the offensive was semi competent, they could have been a number 1 unit. But, were they better than the 90 Giants or 91 Redskins? The 90 Giants had the better defense of those two. They held SF to 13 points in the NFC Championship game - 1 touchdown and 2 FGs. And they held Kelly to 0 TD passes in SBXXV and 17 points for the game. Could the current defensive do what NYG did, and would the K-Gun shoot blanks against it? Easy decision: yes and no. The K-Gun would win at home in the regular season, and the 2015 defensive would win in Tampa in the Super Bowl. Oh wait...now I'm talking about a Bills defensive in the Super Bowl. Futile until proven otherwise.
  6. I've got sympathy for Spikes losing his brother, in anyway that that went down. But we tolerate too many people saying and doing too many stupid things in public. It's becoming common place in the country, and it sucks for rational people who see it for what it is, and aren't blinded by "everybody gets a trophy."
  7. Since Spikes shows no signs of low charactor in his questioning of the validity of the justice system in his friend's 1st degree murder conviction and subsequent punishment of life without parole while said friend awaits more murder charges in the near future, how does his charactor rate with this comment?
  8. I honestly don't care too much about PR as long as it's not negative and/or about pretty damning things - like murder. Every five years or so an athlete compares pro sports to slavery. Those words are not worth the ink or paper they're printed with. Spikes is not a PR disaster, just an unwise commentator who I would rather not have on my squad. Sometimes guys like him play an important part in a team's swagger and it can have a positive impact on the win/loss column. But sooner rather than later, it hurts the club. Again, risk (some don't care at all what Spikes tweets or says) vs. reward (is he good enough to be an idiot on the Bills?). I think you're saying that by my logic, the positives are equal to the negatives. I'm absolutely not saying that. I think most of us agree that negatives have a far greater impact on our lives than the positives. What say you?
  9. Risk vs reward - Spikes isn't good enough to smear the Bills imagine all over the interent, even if it's only for a couple of days. Pot is the gateway drug. Tweets show you what may be in store for this guy down the road. Miley Cyrus's flat @$$ vs. her really cool smoker's voice and enlightening personality? Risk vs. reward.
  10. Is this guy still looking to re-sign with Buffalo, or some other team? If so it would be in his best interest to not make his thoughts about anything public any longer. The risk is too great for him. But I'm sure he's confused about that too. If I'm Bills brass, I do some serious thinking about the rish being greater than the reward with this guy. He freely tweets something stupid about a convicted murderer (murder for god's sake! In this town!!) without giving it much thought (I hope). He's in the media spotlight again, and the pictures on all the clicks are of him in a BIlls uniform. YEAH...Awesome, Brandon! Just the imagine we appreciate around here. This is a brilliant part duex to his "4 years a slave" description of life as a Patriot. The guy HAS GOT TO GO at this point in my opinion.
  11. Greg Roman is going to have to prove himself to me darn it. I'm not against being optimistic. In fact, I encourage it. But Roman has not done as much in the NFL as some around here give him credit for. Harbaugh was the clear leader of the "three NFC Championship games" offense in SF, and even then, their supposedly super talented QB undoubtedly regressed. I like the way SF ran the ball during the Harbaugh years. But they should have done that well - the o-line was stacked with a good blocking/pass catching TE, they had a very professional runningback, and a quarterback who needs flame retardant footwear becuase he runs so fast. I always thought that Belicheck planned for his coordinators to move on. Notice how the Pats usually promote, not hire. He tells his QB coach, Hey, we're going to be good, other teams are going to hire our coordinators as HCs, so you're next. Be prepared. If Buffalo wants success, this is what should happen. Expect it, and prepare for it.
  12. Rex has been a total homerun for Buffalo Bills Football. All he has to do is win games now. The team is loaded. The coaching staff is loaded. The owner is loaded. The QB position is being worked out. Let's go, Rex. Stay on my wing...I'll take you all the way in.
  13. The play action pass will be mighty.
  14. Got thru two mins...has he touched a center's nuts?
  15. Ugh I want a guy that can throw a darn spiral
  16. Super teams make the odds of the other good teams greater. A horse that goes off at 1-9 creates more long shots in the field.
  17. It depends on the helmet color. Off topic -- Frank Reich has to be the greatest backup QB of all time. I know other backups won Super Bowls, but did they stay backups for the same club, and for how long and what were their other successes (question?). Reich knew his role. He didn't starve to become the starter. He won regular season games and playoff games. And QB'd the Greatest Comeback In NFL History...then....won in Pittsburgh the following week 24-3 in a laugher. He then gladly stepped aside to allow Jimbo to beat the hell out of the Fins in Miami. Frank has quite a nice place in NFL history if you ask me.
  18. Tom Brady. Before 2007, when he got his way with the footballs. Harbaugh, Jim
  19. Yes. And the players, to a man, think of Lewis as the head coach of that team over Brian Billick. That tells me defensive line coach had even less influence in that locker room than some like to give him credit for. Not knocking Rex, but the OP could only make this comparison if it was Lewis, not Rex as Bills HC.
  20. Signed - As a runningbacks assistant coach, until he's ready to take over the position solely.
  21. Now that's funny, and true. But who's dumb enough to argue politics...? I kid. I agree that EJ shouldn't just be let go. That's silly talk. If the Bills are dead set on moving on, why not talk him up...hey! we'll help!!....and see if they can grab a draft pick for him. Surely, teams would like to take a crack at him for cheap. GQ and Gino were poor on Rex's watch. The thing that bothers me the most is that Rex practically marries his quarterbacks. And they stink! It'd be nice if he didn't wear giant beer goggles when looking at these guys. Evaluate and apply, Rex, without the silly tats.
  22. With what happened to Vernon Davis last, how could he and Roman still be on good terms?
  23. rephrase: What has happened over the past 6 months that would suggest that EJ Manuel will start week 1? I don't think the Bills trying to piece together a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 and throw Stephen Hawking behind the wheel. I would love for EJ to improve, but as far as I can tell, the Bills aren't counting on it.
