  1. Yes. I do. Hughes' sacks are the product more often than not of pressure up the middle, stunts or just all around pursuit.
  2. Very true but do you really think he's worth a cap hit of $19-20m? Does Mario completely take over and dominate a game consistently? Absolutely not. Whilst he is a top 10 edge rusher, do you really think he warrants the base salary he is set to receive next year? - More than any other player on the defensive line in the whole of the NFL... It's not for Dareus' contract alone that I would want him to restructure, it's potential for contracts going to Hughes, Dareus, Glenn and anyone else - shoot, maybe even a Big Ben, Phillip Rivers or some other QB come 2016 if we're still QB interested and sitting late in the draft. Never mind just those three, Kyle's making a pretty penny too in base salary next season.
  3. Whilst I like Mario for the player he is, he doesn't strike me as the guy who would ever be willing to take a pay cut irrespective of how well the team could be or is playing. I would like to remain optimistic, like I do with most Bills related thoughts, but with that? Nope.
  4. That's right, the game will always pan out the way it does regardless of what happens. Sure, they wouldn't have, if in your realm the exact plays were called by both teams and the same outcome on each...
  5. You know, you could always try - just for once, to sing a different song...
  6. It had me stumped also. Our D was playing lights out (aside from the 4th down play and the Alex Smith option) and would more than likely have stopped the Chiefs - There's no way they try and just kill the game, given the fact they would have only been up by one you force their hand more and press them into having to score at least a FG. What concerns me more is that if Marrone had decided it was four down time - which you would have to assume - why was the play calling endzone or nothing? I mean, you would think it was goal to go. For crying out loud, 3rd and 10... Chiefs D assumed we were going to kick a FG if 3rd down failed, evident by the fact they only rushed 3 on 3rd down. I mean for crying out loud... A HB draw or the infamous shotgun hand off up the middle would have made the 4th down way more manageable. Frustrating decisions by a head coach who seems over his head when it comes to game ending decisions more often than not.
  7. I would hardly state that he outright sucks. You just know what you're going to get with him... Some plays here or there. Some will win you the game and some won't. All dependent on which shows up. As for EJ? Who knows... Don't see why they don't just let Orton front out the rest of the season. They did bench the kid for him after all. Turning it around again would be rather delusional.
  8. Hughes is the only concern heading into next season. Well, him, CJ's player option and a few rotation/depth players: namely Wynn, Hogan, Easley and Bryant. This team won't see too many changes from this season's roster barring any cuts, trades or injuries.

  10. Don't be silly. You conform and start a new thread. Duh! Seriously though, good find. Much appreciated in both threads you posted that in. San Diego was a totally winnable game. Combination of poor line play and penalties. Now I am not stating they would have won if those issues were not the case, just that there was room for it to swing in our favor. Way closer than the 12 point swing would suggest.
  11. His Halloween costume left a lot to be desired. Marrone was not impressed by the lack of effort.
  12. You are correct. But the Chargers, well, the wheels look to be slowly coming off their season. The Bungles are good enough to win and bad enough to lose. Houston? No chance they make the playoffs, even in that division. The Browns? Tricky. I just can't see them stringing it together week by week. My only hope is that either the Steelers or the Ravens run away with the division and the other falls flat on their face. Trying to find the bright spot is hard but it is there.
  13. Given the fact it is one of the only consistencies this season, it has to be a combination of both with coaching taking major precedence. I thought things may have changed slightly after the bye week. Obviously not.
  14. Bingo. After such a miserable loss I still feel optimistic, thankfully.
  15. Easy now. Commodore all day.
  16. Did Douglas state in the post-game presser where the game was obviously lost?
  17. The funny thing about that conversion... Spikes was solid in coverage.
  18. Toodles!
  19. Browns play in the North. End of.
  20. I still thought we'd win after Orton got bailed out on that horrible back shoulder throw to Sammy-not there-Watkins. When we didn't take the three was when it was game. If you were already planning ahead of time that it was four down territory, which you have to assume, why on earth did you not try and shorten the distance with at least a draw on third down?
  21. Given today's scores, we still have a chance. All that's really happened is we are still .5 a game behind the 6 seed. Pittsburgh slide from #4 to #6 and Cleveland and KC respectively bump up once each. Look at the end to the AFC playoff picture last year with Succop missing that FG to seal the game, knocking the Steelers out and letting the Chargers in. Ain't over 'til it is a 0% chance. Going to be extremely hard but there is still a chance.
  22. Not necessarily, it would have forced the Chiefs to actually try and push the field more than they did or even had to. Up by 4 is huge, especially within the final two minutes.
  23. The hilarity is I joked "conversion to the TE, middle of the field..."
