  1. With the depth we have on the defensive line I wouldn't mind seeing a trade of someone there for a serviceable offensive guard. Even our Dline backups are better than some teams' starters.
  2. The Bills are leading the league in sacks. They definitely don't need to blitz more.
  3. You act like almost every team in the league doesn't benefit from playing bad quarterbacks at various points of the season. Coverage has been great lately.
  4. I always had a feeling our secondary had an unwarranted bad rep due to the QBs we played early in the season. Brady, Cutler, Stafford. For awhile there we were in the bottom of the league in passing yards allowed. Now that we've faced some easier QBs to even that out though, the secondary has looked solid. We've gone from 26th in passing defense to 13th. We also lead the league in interceptions. Not bad.
  5. I've been a supporter of Hackett so far. I mostly blamed EJ's limitations, and then the Oline struggles, for our offensive problems. Unfortunately my mind has been changed. Orton is a lot more capable to make vertical plays and I think the Oline pass protected better today with Urbik in there. Yet, going against the worst secondaries in the league and one of the best run defenses in the league, Hackett decides to run the ball twice as many times as pass when the game was still close. There is zero reason that game should have been that close going into the 3rd quarter, and if the Jets weren't shooting themselves in the foot so much they could have come back to win that game. A good team probably would have. It's pathetic to have as many 3-and-outs as we had, and it's pathetic to have to accept field goals on that many drives that start around mid-field. Yes I'm happy we won, and yes I'm happy we blew out the Jets. But it was because of the defense that we did so. For a team that has such an atrocious run game right now, Hackett sure does call a lot of run plays. If you want to run a lot, fine. But mix it up a little. I bet if you looked up stats for runs up the middle the Bills probably have the worst yards per attempt in the entire league.
  6. There's basically zero chance he plays this year, even if the Bills make it to the bowl. They simply won't risk re-injury. Look at Gronk and how important he is to the Pat's offense. There were questions as to whether he'd even play in week 1 a full year removed from his ACL tear. They won't risk it.
  7. That's a good point. People probably forget that he was drafted as a Spikes-type run stuffing MLB. If he can do that, even if not quite as good as Spikes, AND do ok in coverage Spikes isn't really needed. Bradham - Brown - Alonso would make a great second level.
  8. He's looking like a great pick and a true 3-down back. With Kiko back next year, we'll have two outside 3-down backs and one of the best run-stuffing MLBs in the league. That's a pretty damn good LB corps.
  9. Seems kind of silly how much NE's chances are than ours seeing as how we're only 1 game back with the easier schedule. 78% to 17%???
  10. I agree with whoever said earlier that Brown will put up the highest single-game numbers of any Bills RB this year on Sunday.
  11. Wow. Watching that highlights video, that kid can run. Great vision hitting holes AND he can break tackles. I'm excited to see him play sunday.
  12. We're talking about the 1-6 Jets. Orton has played almost his entire career in Buffalo under constant pressure with no support in the run game. It's not going to suddenly destroy our gameplan in week 8. We had one bad game against the run. Before that we were #1 overall on run defense and even after that game we're top 5. It seems irrational to worry about this. The Jets have a crappy secondary. If anyone should be worried about any matchup this game, Jets fans should be worried about our receivers vs. their secondary. And let's not forget that we're playing Geno Smith. Our Dline is going to devour him and our secondary should be able to get a few picks.
  13. This gives me hope. Urbik should solidify that whole side of the line simply by playing average and not dragging down the players on each side of him. He's a better pass blocker than run blocker too. It's funny, if you would have told me that going into week 8 the Bills would be passing 40+ times a game behind Kyle Orton I would have laughed at you.
  14. Can we get him to "switch teams" from D to O and convert him to an OG?
  15. I was disappointed when I heard Joe B. say on WGR this morning that Incognito has basically been blacklisted by the NFL so there's no chance the Bills sign him. I think it's the single most productive move we could make right now. I don't really care how much of a nutjob he is, he'd only be a 9 game rental until we can address the position during next offseason.
  16. The Bills seem to do a lot better in a hurry-up offense. Hopefully the coaches realize this and start using it before the 4th quarter 2-minute warning in coming weeks.
  17. I sure hope OP is right, because the Jets looked pretty nasty last Thursday and if the Bills play like they did against the Vikings it's going to be a long day. Orton was under pressure ALL day and the Jets have a much better defensive line. We could be looking at another 6+ sack game.
  18. With Kiko back we'll have an elite coverage LB to put next to our elite run-stuffing LB. If we keep everyone, this unit is going to be sick next season.
