  1. First of, I work for a American defense contractor. You go right ahead to a foreign competitor... Second, no, Americans are not incompetent, but they are too expensive and generally overregulated. I once thought I'd buy an Explorer. After the tire fiasco, I am not sure I trust Ford. Have you ever heard of something like that in a Japanese vehicle? Third, a Chrysler is no more American than a Toyota. It is a German company that builds some of it's cars in America. BTW, the Dodge I owned was built in Canada - it was a lemon... In my opinion, America's problem is in engineering and definition of requirements. If every part in an assembly just barely meets requirements, the the whole assembly may be marginal or even out of spec. Do you try to meet the spec, or push back on the spec with a better way? I give a real example from Buick. They wanted to add volume controls to the steering wheel. The standard radio knob had a light in it to indicate the volume, so, they ended up adding a somewhat unreliable motor behind the knob that the buttons on the steering wheel could control. I think the motor cost ~$30 per knob. My Audi (aka a German Buick ) also has the steering wheel controls, but they don't have light behind the knob on the radio. The moral of the story? If they had removed the light behind the knob they could have saved as much as $30 per car and had a more reliable control. Getting back to the thread question, try MSN Autos. They have an Amazon - like user rating that I thought was pretty cool...
  2. Brady could be Starr, Bradshaw, and Montana wrapped up in one package and BB could be Lomdardi, Walsh, and Gibbs and they'd still be second fiddle to the Sox... We're only about 3 months separated from the WS. Boston will never be a football town. Heck , they're more of a hockey town than football...
  3. I've lurked at audiworld myself enough that I ended up getting the interface from Ross-Tech... Here, mostly, and billszone when this place is Rosened...
  4. As a miniature donkey owner this is by no means the first time I've seen this video. There are a number of things that make this a fake. First off, a donkey by himself will die. They are extremely social, and a jack is nearly inspeparable from his jennets. Second, a couple uppercuts will shut him right down. That's what a jennet does when she isn't in the mood. Third, donkeys don't do it on the ground. The jennet stands... Fourth, why wouldn't the cameraman come to the aid of the guy?
  5. I'd be leary of going after the apartment, unless you are planning on moving. If you win, I suspect it would become a "no dogs allowed" complex. As for your dog, I'm so sorry. I don't know what I would do in that situation, but somehow, I suspect I'd have a bite or two on my arms, but the GSD wouldn't have a pulse... I once had a GSD/Lab mix, who was great 99.9% of the time. One of the toughest things I ever did was take that dog to be put to sleep after he bit a neighbor's kid. If the former Bills player had any guts, he'd do the same thing with his dog. A couple of neighbors of mine had a similar incident, only the injuries inflicted by the GSD ended up being fatal. The guy who lost his dog replaced it with an Akita, who broke the GSD's neck when the GSD attacked again. (There were no leash laws in the hills SW of Albany.)
  6. Didn't the same injury end Don Majowski's carrer? While I know it's good for the Bills, it is a shame that his promising career is possibly over...
  7. While I agree they need to make sure someone can fill Jennings shoes (assuming he leaves), I have a hard time not pointing out that the O-line did a nice job protecting Drew as the season wore on. I had hoped with protection, DB would return to form. He did not, and with the exception of the Miami game, he did nothing that a rookie couldn't do. The Bills brought in some of the best QB coaches in the league, and Drew did not respond well enough to the coaching. He had his chance, and now it's time to turn the page. If he comes back as a backup, great. Being the class act that he is, I am sure he will still be an asset to the team. Otherwise, like many Patsies fans, I will wish him well, and be glad he is no long the QB of my team.
  8. It just started snowing here. I sure wouldn't want to be on the Cape as they are calling for 20-30 inches, sustained winds of 50mph with gusts over 75mph... We've got the 20-30", but the winds won't be quite as strong...
  9. While I'd love to see Pace in a Bills uniform, I would not be surprised if Williams moves to LT next season... This of course assumes that there will be no more personal problems... As for DB coming to Buffalo, I wholeheartedly agree. Not only did he attract players, but he attracted fans, too. Where TD seems to be genius is the marketing. I don't see Buffalo heading for greener pastures now the way I did in the days just prior to Flutie starting in 98... From moving camp to Rochester, to Drew to TS, to WM, to LE and JPL, he has done a great job in stimulating interest in the Bills...
  10. I will use Moulds as an example- Moulds 2003 Game by Game Stats In the first 5 games he had 30 catches for 457 yards. Then he got hurt in OT in the Cinci game. He missed 3 of the remaining games, and in the other 8 games he had 34 for 323 yards. Remember, this is a Probowl WR who was Drew's #1 target and had played the same position for 7 years... These guys come back hurt... Moulds had trouble getting a grip on the ball early in his career. You might remember Beebe had a hard time catching the ball the first few years. If Aiken turns out better, then fine. But you don't cut a player who showed a lot of promise as a rookie, got shuffled to a new position, and then got hurt. Brandon, they've taken a lot of WRs during TD's tenure. I suspect while there may be a FA or two signed, I doubt one will be drafted...
  11. Basically, he looked extremely promising in his rookie year. He played out of position last year. He was hurt this year. When Moulds plays hurt, he doesn't look that great either. Maybe we should cut him, too. If he doesn't show anything this year, then maybe he won't make it. I think he will be fine.
  12. That's like me deciding to root for the felons or patsies! Maybe they like a certain cut of beef in Ohio...
  13. I prefer my dB_lb... BTW, I'm down ~10lbs. Riding the Airdyne in the mornings, but that can be tough on the stones... Doing the South Beach. I lost about 40lbs. with WW 3 years ago but gained back...
  14. The December 23, 1990 game was the only game I was at. I was 20, pennyless, and my mother took pity (I'd say she wimped out but she was at the Rockpile for the AFL championship game...) and gave her tickets to me. I had also just adopted a rather unmanageable Golden Retriever who was getting some remedial obedience lessons with a guy who's main job was raising and training German Shepards and Rottweilers for the Erie County Sheriff. That game used mounted police to try to keep the crowd in the stands. It was a dismal failure and could have turned out pretty ugly if one of the horses had spooked when crowd swarmed the field. Anyway, the next game, the guy I with which I was training, was one of the security people, and all of the field security people had either a Rotty or GSD... I think after the Raiders game there was speculation they were going to come down again, but, those dogs were a lot meaner looking than the horses...
  15. Besides, they came down 4 weeks before when we beat Miami for the AFC East. I think OBD was getting sick of losing goalposts... December 23, 1990 - Another game I won't soon forget...
  16. Yep! See the avatar, aren't they cute? They are our first, so it ought to be really interesting... That's also why we're doing the second honeymoon thing. Don't figure we'll be travelling alone after this vacation...
  17. As someone who has volunteered with the New England Shetland Sheepdog Rescue, it wasn't a waste of space at all. You never know if you might get an answer unless you ask a question...
  18. I think I'd cut Moulds, Bledsoe, Preileau and Henry to get Pace...
  19. Iberostar Bavaro, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a week starting 1/31... My wife is due sometime between April 30 and June 2 with our first AND second...
  20. I thought it was more, but that might have been the cost if the Colts had been forced to franchise him. As for your question, I knew what you were asking; I was just trying to be cute, and point out that perhaps Marino, while being one of the best pure passers in league history, was not even the best QB in his division for most of his career.
  21. That's the stuff we use, although we give that brand to the cats, too. As for Purina One, they do make or at least used to make it. My old Golden ate it when he was young. He did well on it, but boy was he flatulent. He finished his life last summer on Nutro Max senior with the Glucosamine and was in decent shape until the last day or two... Ya know my parents get their food delivered on a schedule from some web based outfit. Though I haven't tried it, I think that would be pretty conveinient....
  22. Unless you add hardware, I doubt you can have bluetooth. In order to keep the phone the same size, they probably put the bluetooth antenna where the radio was...
  23. Amen. Dogs should have people sized lifespans.... BTW, there is some great advice in this thread!
