    Beane: Breece Hall was on the board when we took Kair Elam. One of those guys was more responsible than anyone else for the W. One was a healthy inactive.

    But you’re acting as if there’s no potential reward in taking a deep shot. Even if there’s a 20 percent chance of success, that’s a 20 percent chance of 50 yards and 6 points. Of course the obvious problem tonight is that Diggs just wasn’t open. He’s really really good but he’s not Tyreek.

    Josh is reminding me of Brett Favre again. Which isn’t who we want him to be, but who does have a Super Bowl ring … There was a span of games where the short precision passing game was clicking in both 2021 and 2022. What happened?

    Well, yes. I was pointing out that it is situational. If it’s a down and distance that’s likely out of reach, take a chance. 3rd and 8 should be very doable to todays NFL.

    Excellent point. A 3rd and 20 deep shot is no big deal - chances of converting a 1st are low and unless there’s a big return it’s effectively a quick kick punt. But you can’t give up 2 downs like that

    I like the fact that he owned it - this L is one me. But that air of resignation was weird. It wasn’t the old cocky “I screwed up, I’m gonna fix it.” It was more of “this just ain’t working.”

    I had no idea why he did that. That was just handing the Jets 3 points. You might do that against Chiefs and Mahomes, but this is the Jets and Wilson. Bizarre.

    Case Keenum wins this game by throwing for 150 yards. Maybe even Kyle Allen. Any basic game manager. But hero ball is back!

    1. Tale of box score: Bills 314 total yards. Jets: 289. Wow. Almost even with Zach Wilson at QB. 2 Breece Hall Please. 3. Jets are now obviously more talented overall other than QB. Rodgers promised to partly close that gap. That won’t happen. But still … more talented overall.

    He played like a rookie. The first INT? Meh. It was better than a punt. The second? Inexcusable. He’s gotta know the situation. You are now playing the Zach Wilson Jets, not Aaron Rodgers. Allen should have been more conservative than usual. Instead he tried to force the action for no good reason.

    Zach Wilson QB rating: 81.4 Josh Allen: 62.7 sometimes you just need to win the field position battles and kick field goals and make Zach Wilson beat you. Not many games where you can say the primary reason the Bills lost was QB play. This is one of them.

    We will forever be doomed on this board to deal with comments like "he's not Josh Allen" or "he's not a franchise QB" or "what if [add name of mediocre QB] has his weapons at WR?" Whatever. He's good as long as he can stay healthy. Which is questionable. We saw what a mediocre QB (Bridgewater) could do with that offense last year, and the difference was huge.

    That's in the category of weird things that makes me have a more favorable opinion of someone. I may be the only guy in my neighborhood still mowing his own lawn. Fitzy's Conor McGregor thing went viral and launched his endorsement career just as his football career was ending. Good for him.

    I know it's fashionable here to rip Tua, but he's a tough little mofo ... I thought there's no way they could go back to their pre-2nd (3rd?) concussion form. But here we are.
