  1. Just a clarification for "Mike Davis." He is mixing up Clinton and Trump. Clinton: rubbed a cigar against Monica Lewinsky's v[u]lva Trump: inserted his (thankfully short) finger(s) into E. Jean Carroll's v[a]gina Accuracy in Alt Media!
  2. I'm Serious Frank this morning. B-Man shamed me into it. Serious answer: charity (taking new border crossers in, feeding them, giving them food and shelter) is not and should never be a crime. We depend on charitable organizations in this country, and they should be honored for their service. There are churches and other organizations that go beyond that and actually try to conceal people they are sheltering from law enforcement. That is a different matter, and these organizations - even if well-meaning - are participants in a violation of the law.
  3. Allow me to explain to those with a poorly developed sense of humor. it is fine to debate what the rules should be for genetic men/women to compete in women's sports. I tend to think it's case by case. A genetic man competing in one of those dorky E-Sport things? Sure, why not. In boxing? No. It is also fine to have opinions about other things relating to trans issues, including the debate about an age of consent to irrevocable medical procedures. But here's the point I'm trying to make with humor: Elon Musk is obviously too deeply invested on a personal/emotional level. He is saying things like "they killed my son." He was an absentee father, and that son (now his trans daughter) basically disowned him. The world's most reason-driven man is a victim of his own very human emotions here. Be a father. Love your child. Even if your child doesn't love you back right now.
  4. I think you are calling yourself swine here. He is sharing his pearls of wisdom with you, which makes you, umm ...
  5. Elon just defensive because he never let his own trans daughter take boxing lessons.
  6. See? The right wing CAN do humor. I approve. Maybe you wanna flip on the news this morning. Biden somehow executed that prisoner exchange. Whether he was an active participant or simply nodded "yes" in between naps, somehow they got it done. The Republic continues to function. Imagine that.
  7. OK, so I looked it up. Yes, the Algerian fighter is genetically male. No, she (I'll use her choice as a courtesy, because my mama taught me to be courteous) doesn't belong in a women's competition. But check out the Irish girl who kicked her ass in Tokyo. This may be unfair and all that, but assuming they're still in the same weight class, this final will be Must See TV!
  8. The late Joe Biden negotiates complex multilateral prisoner exchange. Somehow the U.S. government continues to operate.
  9. Pages 179-81 of my library's copy are curiously missing.
  10. I guess Kamala can now point to the Evan Gershkovich/Paul Whelan prisoner exchange as her first presidential accomplishment?
  11. You should get a Warning for injecting football talk into PPP. But while we're at it: good point if Andy Reid isn't your coach and Patrick Mahomes isn't your QB and Travis Kelce isn't your TE. They will find ways to get him off the line ...
  12. At least they're not "sexualizing the Olympics" like that scantily clad bluish Papa Smurf at the Opening Ceremonies.
  13. Yikes. I'm quite sure a whole lot of black Cubans, for example, do indeed identify as black. And Cuban/Latin American/Latino/whatever else may fit the bill.
  14. Hah! Not buying it as the state of the race today, but still ... it's gonna be a close one. Unlike 10 days ago.
  15. He did not, did he? See, it's in his head! How's the old joke go? Shot pool all my life and nobody's ever called me a hustler. But hump just one couch ...
  16. I'm not offended by either one? What does that make me? I know ... EDGY!
  17. Murray's mother is Syrian. So ... kind of the same thing. this is why the Trump/Vance are "weird" thing gets traction with younger people. What, they aren't aware that people can be bi-racial?
  18. I also respect you as a poster. I'm not sure precisely what your background is, but in some cases (here) you are clearly well-informed and I give great weight to your opinions. Venezuela's Petro industry may be a mess, but it continues nonetheless to pump/export huge quantities of oil. And it will apparently continue to do so since it seems that the USA and/or the regional or international communities are powerless to stop that. So the questions: why? Why are we powerless? We didn't used to be powerless, now we are. Why? Changes in attitudes? Public opinion? Our military strength as opposed to that of a crumbling society that has already lost a huge proportion of its military age men? Is it good that we are powerless now? Or is it bad?
  19. By the way, that's one reason the preferred nomenclature went from black, to African-American, then back to black. If Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray is attacked on the street in Denver, we'll want to know if he was attacked because he's black, not because he's African-American. Because he's black but he's Canadian.
  20. I have no idea what the exact background is here. But there are actually intersex people (the "I" in the LBGTQI). I understood that that's where famous sprinter Caster Semenya fell, and perhaps Britney Griner too. Sometimes it isn't that simple.
  21. You know how he left his Venmo public? Someone should check his Spotify.
  22. Sometimes his ham-handed shock lines work. The Muslim ban thing got him a lot of attention at a time when he could've been ignored as a fringe candidate. So too with the "they're not sending their best." This one appears to be aimed at his idea that black voters are moving to him en masse. Try to convince those voters that Kamala ascending to the presidential candidate doesn't mean a "real" or "authentic" black person is running. The Dems did this with Obama. It didn't work. But of course Obama had a black wife and kids. So that's what he's trying to do. I doubt it'll work with black voters, but I'm not black ...
  23. My wife says he's a pretty good looking guy. And while facial hair is usually bad on a politician, he really needed it to get beyond that baby faced look But yeah, she also says he's wearing eyeliner.
  24. Flipped on CNN just to catch Trump dropping another cringe bomb on a rally crowd, saying that Mrs. Comperatore "would rather have Corey ... ." And then the cringe joke: "not every wife would want their husband ..."
  25. Do you think that's what they got from Jake Tapper under the new rules? Because Tapper basically sat that one out. Ask the question, cut your own mic.
