I admitted no such thing. Nigel Bradham, Percy Harvin, Mario Williams, and Kyle Williams all gone. Clay will be restructured We can get much cheaper replacements that are younger and fit the scheme we are running AND add a key player or two. I could see us finding a cheaper LB in FA or the draft. We can also find a NT for much less money than a pass-rusher.

I don't see Bradham resigning here. He is not a good fit for the defense we run. Whaley will follow his Pittsburgh roots and draft his replacement.

I hate that Mario, Kyle Williams, and Dareus don't seem to dominate in Rex's scheme. But the good news is that Kyle and Mario seem to be on the decline anyway. Let's cut our losses this year and let Rex get cheaper players that are a scheme fit. No interest in trying to run a 4-3 next year with a new coach when our best 4-3 players are old and Father Time is here. That should free up plenty of cap space to sign whatever we need next year.

Good thread. I don't know if Tyrod is the answer but he gives this team a chance to win. Year 2 for a QB is the biggest chance at improvement so that is where I will try to find a silver lining on a disappointing day.

Good post. Buffalo far better than say Miami who has committed big money to Tannehill. That is a team that will have a hard time. And I believe if they sign Tyrod to an extension his cap hit only begins after next year. Someone correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Not really. They can restructure or cut ONE player and be fine. His name is Mario. They can also restructure Clay who has a big cap hit because of the need to make Miami not match.

Bills a mediocre team with the following players not on the field: Kyle Williams Stephon Gilmore Charles Clay Percy Harvin Karlos Williams Aaron Williams Corey Graham (in the end was out also) Throw in a penalty every other play and there you go.

I wouldn't take out Thigpen to insert McKelvin who would be next man up for punt returns.

I hold Rex responsible for the lack of discipline. But the scheme change was what it was. You hire Rex Ryan and he is going to run his defense. So we added all these weapons but lost Mario, Dareus, and Kyle Williams. None of these players look good in the Rex scheme but you can't ask Rex to coach something he doesn't want to coach. Only good news is that Mario and Kyle were on their way out anyway so no point in demanding a 4-3 scheme next year. Move Dareus to DE, get a NT. Get another inside linebacker with size and speed. Draft a safety early.

This team failed big time. Choked over and over as the Eagles were not some world beating team.
