  1. I agree that coaching is important. I just see another year of age to players on the team and heavy free agency loss. If you give Tyrod the money then you lose even more players and the team gets weaker. 6 wins is just a guess but with only 6 picks Whaley will have to really be a magician to make this team much better.
  2. How is it a tank when the current roster looks like a 6 win team? It's called trying to get better. If we sign Tyrod to 40 million plus I expect McD to get fired within 3 years.
  3. Yes, this is the logic that the mighty Doug Marrone used so he could play Kyle Orton. I really want a team that has a real GM, not this mess where no one knows who is making the decisions. Coaches should not be making calls on whether to play veteran QB's. If no suitable QB is found then McD should get a free one year pass from ownership.
  4. If McDermott needs a 40 million dollar bridge QB to be successful than he is another bad coach we can move on from.
  5. I don't want to pay Tyrod 40 million or design an offense around him. Cardale and another comparable to Tyrod that is cheaper.
  6. I'll give you Seattle. What's interesting s that Seattle doesn't try to trick offenses. They just play fast and attack. But Tyrod had too many games like Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Oakland, etc.
  7. I am fine with taking Mahomes and letting him win the job. No need to give it to him.
  8. Tyrod just isn't good enough to commit all that money to. Winning a duel with Matt Moore against a Dolphins D that had no corners, safeties, or linebackers. Every year you will play crap teams and Tyrod can do well against them. He just didn't show up against anyone else.
  9. Yeah, which is why we drafted Cockrell and then let him go when Rex changed the scheme. Now we are back in zone and could use him!
  10. Scheme change means good players will no longer be needed here. There will be others.
  11. Oh, look who the Chiefs are looking at. Among them: Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer, Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky, Texas Tech’s Patrick Mahomes II, Miami’s Brad Kaaya and Pittsburgh’s Nathan Peterman, who all mentioned during their media sessions Friday that they had formal interviews scheduled with the Chiefs. http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article136320493.html Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article136320493.html#storylink=cpy
  12. It's not personal. I like Tyrod. I was a Tyrod fan when the choice was him, EJ, or Cassel. The issue is do we want to pay him 40 million for 2 years.
  13. Yeah, the clunky wording was because Bills were last in RAC and 3rd last in RAC per attempt.
  14. You have never heard of yards after catch? In a passing league you want this. 2 best teams were in the Superbowl.
  15. If Tyrod had a winning record his fans would use it. I understand, people like the guy and will back it up with whatever they can find.
  16. I would put him around 25. A QB that can't make every throw, has the third worst yards per catch per attempt, can't operate a 2 minute drill. I don't pay big money for that.
  17. For Tyrod fan boys wins are a team stat. Points scored is a Tyrod stat. Average yards per game is a team stat. It's all cherry picked to justify 40 million to a guy who his own team does not want to put the ball in his hands.
  18. No Andrew Luck in this draft. That's my translation. Derek Carr and Dak Prescott weren't ready either by this standard.
  19. Don't worry, the Bills will not take Mahomes. I just heard Bills puppet Chris Brown dissing Mahomes and Trubisky and praising Watson for throws he made in shorts. Bills can market Watson easier and wouldn't know a QB if they reached out and jumped in their path.
  20. The Bills created a special unicorn under Greg Roman. It was a heavy run, gadget offense that did score a lot and was very efficient in the red zone(because Bills could run. That offense had an top 3 running back, power offensive line, and a running QB that could throw deep to keep to keep defenses honest. The Tyrod fans want us to believe that is all on Tyrod, he's the man. Yes, in way he was for that system. But those of us who don't want to pick up the option don't want to run a gimmick offense that limits the QB in a QB friendly league. It's not a good way to develop your own QB. It's a way to cover your weakness throwing the ball and if we are weak at throwing the ball why should we pay 40 million for that?
  21. If the Bills pay Tyrod 30-40 million he is not just hanging out. He is the guy for two years and they need to design a running offense around him. Tyrod is not anywhere near other QB not named Brady and Rodgers. I don't get why you keep saying that. Bills won by restricting passes Tyrod threw. Other team QB's have to carry their teams. Tyrod cannot make every NFL throw and can't win by passing the ball. You have to design a run-heavy gimmick offense to keep defenses honest and it can work. I see the Tyrod led defense as the Miami Dolphins with their wild cat they ran. It is hard to stop for NFL teams because they don't see it but it's not how you build a winning team. It's a tactic, not a long term strategy that you pay 30-40 million for.
  22. Exactly. Bills have only spent 2 picks in the first 2 rounds on QB in the last 20 years. That's embarrassing. You can't hit on players you never take. If you don't have a QB you need to find one.
  23. Good, at least you like SOMEONE in this draft. That's all I wanted. My work here is done. And on Air Raid, a Tedford system QB had always busted BADLY. That's why Aaron Rodgers didn't go top 5. Thinking like that. Scout the traits.
  24. No, you aren't stuck with them. If they can't play they sit on the bench. There are no John Elways in the draft but we don't draft first anyway. It seems you only want to move on a QB that is perfect which will mean in a QB driven league we never create a winner. If you don't like ANY of the 2017 QB's you are really too picky, IMO. Mahomes doesn't call his own plays? Really, that's a thing? No QB in college is calling their own plays. Another thing Mahomes will stress in Indianapolis: He had more responsibilities in Lubbock than you think. Kingsbury allowed Mahomes to begin checking plays at line of scrimmage during the quarterback’s sophomore year, and by last year Mahomes could check any play he wanted. In fact, Kingsbury’s sideline signals were an exception—he used them only when he wanted Mahomes to keep his play no matter what. A scout said that is unusual for a college spread quarterback. It was a virtue of Mahomes starting 28 games. http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2017/03/01/nfl-draft-patrick-mahomes-ii-texas-tech-quarterback-first-round-prospect
