Friends from her childhood and adolescence described her as a “leader” and a “bookworm.” Brainy, ambitious and pragmatic, she moved from an extracurricular-studded four years at Yale to a Gates Fellowship at Cambridge, where she moved in mostly liberal and left-wing circles. As of 2014, she was a registered Democrat. She and Mr. Vance met at Yale Law School, and the pair were married in Kentucky in 2014, and blessed by a Hindu pundit in a separate ceremony. Ms. Vance has played a quiet but significant role in her husband’s rise. At Yale, she helped Mr. Vance organize his ideas about social decline in rural white America, which formed the basis of his breakout memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy.” (In 2020, the book was adapted into a film directed by Ron Howard.) And she made rare but well-choreographed appearances with Mr. Vance as he sought the Ohio Senate seat — including a Newsmax interview in which she seemed to contradict claims that her husband had taken on a populist message in order to succeed politically. Aside from checking all the policy boxes which they both do…. Feels like Vance is the appeal to the rust belt pick. Youngkin is the appeal to and make suburban moms feel safe pick. I think he’s choosing rust belt.

If this was Obama or even Biden it feels like footage like this would be all over what’s left of the MSM. There would be universal outrage at all Republicans. Probably martial law. Talk of mass arrests and gun grabs. That Trump himself would be called responsible. The word “assassination” would be blasted on every newspaper every news show. Instead, “we have to tone down the rhetoric” (that has been almost exclusively on the Left.). They are mistaking right wing anger over the fact we can’t afford groceries or college and that we don’t think 8 year old boys just know they’re actually girls with the outright hatred that they spew 24/7/365 toward Trump and Republicans. We should be disagreeing and arguing on real things. The Left has completely ignored those real things, pretended they don’t exist or aren’t happening (inflation, Biden’s health, Covid vaccines and protocols) all in the name of “getting Trump.”
