I see nothing but personnel problems. Slow. No CB2. Taron has lost a step. We stink against the run. Our safeties feature a solid 22 year old athlete still learning, and an average slow vet who at least knows what he’s doing he’s just slow. The D line is a case of quantity is not better then quality. And it’s unfair to ask 2 rookies to make a significant impact at least now. Daquan is not as good. And AJ is just Chris Kelsey. Bosa is still awesome. Rousseau is solid. Ed is important. And that’s that. Against good olines and QBs we look below average to bad. Good enough to win 11-13 regular season games means nothing to me when we go into the playoffs and all I’ll be thinking is Josh needs to be Superman or team that has the ball last wins. Currently this unit isn’t close to the 2019-2023 defenses McD had. Not fast. Not physical. And we’ve poured a lot of draft capital into it since 2022. What it does have is a good collective IQ - TB, CB, Tre, Rousseau, Rapp, Bishop, and Milano - all high football IQ guys.

Yea look we’re one of the 2-3 best teams in the league. We are nowhere near peak especially on defense. Which I think obvious to all, needs help. That Chiefs D performance vs the Ravens is a statement game. The statement was our D is still elite and our O is nowhere near where it will be in December.

No one in that building from the front office to the players should be anything but humble and hungry. Beane needs to start figuring out how and where to improve. 3 of our wins are against teams that are a combined 0-10. Now 3 of those losses are against us. The Jets and Dolphins could easily have at least 1 win. In Week 9 it starts to get real with KC. The back half is not some cake walk. At Pitt. At Cle. At NE will not be easy. Tampa will be tough. Philly. The defense we’re currently playing is capable of costing us 3-4 of those games. Im glad it’s not peaking. I think it will get better. But it does need an addition.

Oh good call 100 percent. The physicality we have on offense we lack that on defense. Rapp and Dorian can bring it but they’re average players. The D line is really figuring it out mixing in the young guys. But we still don’t have THAT DUDE up front in the middle to get to the QB and disrupt the run. Really really need Sanders to come on in the second half.

Our defense looks NOTHING like the Chiefs or Ravens when it’s healthy. But I’m not sure how much of it is talent or the coaches. McD brought a lot of new cooks into the kitchen to revamp that D this season. Bishop picking off……Chris Olave was a great read. But after him we just look SLOW. Guys are open all over the field. And the pass rush is still meh. I’ll say this tho the Saints Oline is pretty good.

Maxx Crosby - please tell me they’re open to trading him. Ravens offense was there. The Chiefs D is a problem. And their O is going to get better.
