  1. I think it was Bill James who said, " any result that is always surprising, is probably wrong!"
  2. I'm giving Clayton Kershaw's three hit, complete game shutout with 11 Ks, a negative 2.3 because his catcher framed well, his defense made some great plays and he had a wild pitch. Time to throw out the model with the bathwater
  3. If it leads to more injuries I'm not in favor of chasing stats.
  4. Point differential has a correlation of 1.0 with winning, and the bigger the differential the better! Other than that, basic football stats are tough to draw many conclusions from without proper context. The best I can say is Rushing Yards and Passer Rating/ Efficiency seem to correlate pretty well with winning.Rushing averages, and Passing Yardage stats are a mess due to context or if you prefer "garbage" time.
  5. We are number 1 rushing/ defending the run. But also, The Bills rank #5 in passer rating, opponents passer rating. I like these stats better because as we saw yesterday.. garbage time yards are just that. Being efficient throwing and defending the pass and then forcing the opponent out of the threat of the running game, and putting up rushing yards yourself wins a lot of games!
  6. I've watched Denver and they have a fine defense, but that offense is not that of a number 2 team. Also, KC should be in top 5. Bills/ Bengals are 2/3 behind Pats.
  7. NOTHING about this quote implies football knowledge!
  8. Anybody notice that we now have 12 Offensive TDs this season. We didn't reach 12 until WEEK 7 last year! Remember the Minnesota game, the third week in October, Chandler's fourth down catch, and Sammy's TD to win game was #12.
  9. Yep. If he's going to take flack for poor performances, he gets kudos for good ones.
  10. Not elite if he can't average more per catch than he has
  11. I agree with your order on #1 and #2. IMO number 3 should be offensive game plan and lack of adaptability. #4 QB mainly the stepping up into the pocket.
  12. I wonder how it feels to be like Joe B. and have a job where you can just dissect others performance. Just nitpick away at all their errors. Can we do that to JOE B?
  13. I'd try Ponder. Maybe in the right situation he can reach his potential.
  14. We are fortunate to have a talent like him. With further development we could really have something.
  15. All the AFC East teams will be stronger personnel wise than their records at the end.
  16. The Jets defense has the pieces. I like the front, the linebackers are good, and the corners are great. When you add it all up they should be an excellent defense. Injuries and underperformance can hamper that of course. The offense could be adequate, nothing more, not a lot of speed on this of the ball.
  17. Just saw that. Kind of brings in to question the credibility of Leroi. Yeah but Leroi said the tape wasn't that bad!
  18. People who complain about QB play in a loss like yesterday show how little football acumen they really have.
  19. Couldn't we all use a couple extra inches.
  20. what a stupid thread
  21. Maybe you'll see how good he was too.
  22. The game is over and now it is time to learn and get things corrected. If we don't improve, then we are stupid or lack the ability. Taylor will improve, Roman will learn his players,,,,one would think the D will get stronger, the penalties should be correctable. I still think we are a playoff team, and the SUPER BOWL or bust mentality is just not where we are yet.
