I don't know...... I was sad after the loss last year. It's different for me this year. I'm not sad. I'm pissed off. Any common sense at the end of that game last night and we're getting ready for the Bengals here for a chance to go to the Super Bowl. But the coaches did EVERYTHING wrong after our go-ahead TD and if they would have done just 1 thing right, everything is different today. So yeah.....I'm not sad this year. I am very mad and angry.

We've needed speed for a while now. Once Brown lost a step, we had nobody left that would strike fear into the defense when catching the ball. Davis is a nice player and Diggs is great, but neither one of those guys are taking a slant to the house. We have nice weapons that can win games, but we need more team speed on offense. We need at least one guy on offense that is a threat to house it on any play. All that said, we missed Tre dearly tonight. Our secondary got exposed tonight in their biggest test since he went down. No doubt in my mind we win this game if he is playing, but it just shows we need another top CB on this team to complete this defense. The needs we all thought we had weeks ago are still the same. CB, WR (combo speed and size guy), G, and speed off the edge. Hughes and Addison are done. They were our vets and they may have been the worst ends we had tonight getting faked out continually by Mahomes when they shouldn't have been. For the amount of money they were making, they can head out and we can try and upgrade off the edge. Still think there Rousseau is going to be a player. He flashed this season and now with a full season under his belt, and now a full offseason to train and add to his gigantic frame, I think he will be much better and more consistent next year. But we need a guy opposite him that can get to the QB. The challenge is finding that guy with the financial issues we will have with Allen's contract set to kick in soon and some of the option guys we will be giving raises to like Oliver and Edmunds. Oh......one more thing...... GET A REAL PUNTER IN HERE!!!

There are so many ways to kill 13 seconds. This is one of them. Holding is another. Straight up defense instead of the prevent crap they put out there. So many ways to get the job done and our coaching staff was clueless and did the worst possible thing they could.

Serious Question - Why Not Hold or Tackle WRs/TEs Every Play

Exactly what I am saying we should have done. A little bush league, maybe, but we would be playing next week. -
Serious Question - Why Not Hold or Tackle WRs/TEs Every Play
sven233 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall
Because of how we lined up. What I am talking about doing is getting up in their face, immediately grabbing them and hauling them to the ground at the snap. Don't let them have a chance to run anywhere. -
Look, there are so many things that could have been done differently to finish that game. The Bills came out in some sort of crappy prevent defense for some reason and were basically begging to get beat. If it's me, I am doing the exact opposite. First, I am squibbing that kickoff and taking at least 3-4 seconds off that clock. But forget all that...... Say you want to kick it deep and try to get through the next 13 seconds. Fine! You only have to kill off 13 seconds. So, line up tight, grab, hold, tackle every eligible receiver or whatever you have to do every snap and take the penalty! It's 5 yards a pop! If you do that 3 times, the clock is going to tick down until there is only 1 play left and they won't be anywhere near FG range. Defend 1 play and you're there. So many ways to kill 13 seconds and we did none of them. Makes me sick. So pissed off right now.
-
Everyone knows you squib kicked there except the coaches. Coaching lost us the game last year and they did it this year as well. You don't even have to know much about football to know that the squib is the only option there. Embarrassing on every level.
-
Missed Tre badly in this one. Coaching lost this game. Not squibbing the kickoff & running half the time off the clock is bad. Then, crappy prevent defense after the kick is embarrassing on every level. This one's on the coaches not putting the players in a position to succeed.

Taking the ball out of your best player's hands is not the way to win this game. Second year in a row the coaching is going to get us beat. Regardless.....you can't punt there either. That's probably the ball game with the way this has gone. We blinked first. -
Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30
sven233 replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's crazy how different both these teams are since we met early in the season. They have transformed their defensive line and put guys in better spots to succeed. Their offense has been coming around as well. On our side, our offensive line is night and day better. We have totally overhauled our run game and are running the pin and pull game with our big athletic line which plays to our guy's strengths. Pre-snap motion and the eye candy we have been waiting for are back and all of this has changed the way we work on that side of the ball. Unfortunately, maybe the biggest issue we are going to have this time around is not having Tre out there to cover Hill. All this said, I am not sure how much the first meeting means at this point. I think ultimately this game comes down to our defense and how they hold up. I do think if we play well on offense, we'll score, but it comes down to how much we need. If our defense plays their best game I think we can win. If it turns into a shootout, it's going to be tough. Really wish this game was at home. I just hope our staff has learned their lesson and stays aggressive the entire game. Go for it when the situation calls for it and keep the hammer down. We can't score too many points in this game. -
I'll be honest, I didn't read your post. But, regardless of what it says, why don't you save these takes for about another month or so...... Worry about the off-season when it gets here. We still have 4 more games to win this season.

Panthers Willing to Listen to Offers for McCaffrey

If there is a way that Carolina can eat the contract and we can get him on the cheap, sure. But there is no way we're putting that contract on the books. -
Week 18: Jets at Bills - a W wins the AFC East!

Afraid of the Colt running all over us? Then score first and score often. Let's see what their vaunted run game does when they are down 14 the entire game. -
Almost willing to bet he is still a better punter right now than Haak.

Obviously the game plan right now is to let the Panthers bleed the clock themselves since our offense can't do it. -

Didn't know Allen has hit his prime yet at only 25. 2nd in MVP voting last year and having basically an identical season this year statistically with a worse line. Sorry you don't think Allen is as good as arguably the best to ever do it. He may have to settle for 2nd when his career is over. -

This offensive line is the worst ever. Why is Ike sprinting down the field on 3rd down without blocking anyone? -
I'm amped up like I am for every game but man, it's definitely harder to get overly excited about a potential win tomorrow with how we have been playing the last couple months. I was really hyped about this game early in the season and couldn't wait to get a crack at this team, but we have so many self-inflicted issues on this team right now that it's hard seeing us getting it all together so quickly to be able to beat a very talented Bucs team. There used to be a time where I believe this coaching staff was getting the absolute best out of everyone on our roster and now I think the coaching staff is holding this roster back in a lot of ways. We've had big games here and there since the Chiefs game and have come up short in these big spots ever since. I'll need to see before I can believe we can win a huge game against a good team. Do I think we can beat the Bucs if we bring our "A" game? Absolutely. But we haven't played to that level against a good team for a very long time. Here's hoping we can find it somehow over the next few weeks.

Allen said in his presser that the ball just died on him in the wind. And you can see it happen when you go back and watch it. The ball just didn't get there and it allowed the safety to make a play. That said, on a normal day, that play is there and has a chance for sure. Davis had leverage and it the ball has more juice on it, there's definitely a chance. That said, I wanted him to go to Bease there. We didn't need the TD, but if he goes there, he may have had it. Worst case I think he gets the first down. But whatever. It happens. There are so many other things that led to this loss. This was way down the list.

I think McDermott is a good coach, but not a great coach. He is too conservative most of the time, has terrible clock management skills, and constantly gets outcoached in the biggest moments and games. Two of those things can be fixed, but for whatever reason, they keep showing up every season. He needs to just say screw it and change the way he thinks in managing games, but he won't. He also has to be willing to make changes in-game to counter what other teams are doing, especially when opponents keep doing the same things over and over again. Tonight was the perfect example where the Pats* constantly had 6 offensive lineman in and not once did he bring in an extra defensive lineman to counter up front. He played 2 or 3 LBs all the time and they got run over up front. His lack of adjustments is pathetic and it is only going to get worse next week against Tampa.
-
Well, we all said they peaked too early last season. Unfortunately, this year I am not sure if we will ever actually get half way up the hill before the end of the season......

Where will Leslie Frazier land as a head coach…hopefully?
sven233 replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
This season alone has taken away any chances either he or Daboll get head coaching jobs next season. If they aren't fired from here, they will be back for sure. -

The only positive to come out of this game is that the Pats* made their QB, supposedly the next coming, look like an absolute baby.
